You guys should try practicing on things that you don't care if they die. Geraniums amd tomatoes are easy to clone as well as lots of other plants.

hey vint..IPiT and I were gonna clone some blueberry bushes and he showed me how and where to make the cuts on both the pot and the blueberry plants, but he forgot em at my house!
so I put em in a ziplock in the fridge.

My cloning method? It's pretty simple. I cut a liter bottle in half, poke some holes in the bottom and set it in a shallow bowl that has water in it. Then I mix 1/2 pearlite and 1/2 soil. Just enough to fill the bottom 1/2 of the bottle. Prep the cutting w/a rooting hormone and pack some soil arond it. then cover it w/the top of the bottle and put a small clf bulb as close to it as I can get it. I check on it 2-3 times a day, rotate the bottle so the cutting(s) get light from every angle, and spray the inside of the top of the bottle. The water in the bottom bowl evaporates pretty quickly, and I replace it w/a weak peroxide mixture. If the top of the soil/pearlite starts to turn green, I spray that w/the peroxide mixture as well.

before i came on-line i thought one could only clone by putting the cutting in soil, with powder/jell of course
what is your % of survival rate ?
so far i am at 0% LOL, thats soon to change though

Well, I've only cloned mj like 6 times (2 strains). Lost one clone so far. I've practiced on tomatoes the last couple of springs and I'm 100% there. Not that that matters any LOL.
So, what do you have in the EZ cloner right now? If you have neighbors w/tomatoes, go snitch/snip a couple of growth tips off them. Look for the "suckers" that sprout from the crotch of nearly every leaf/branch. Most folks pinch them off and toss them anyway. Treat them just as you would an MJ cutting.
I also think it's important not to mess w/your cuttings once they're in the soil. Don't go tuggin on them or what not. And, as soon as you start to see new growth, start to harden it off and transplant ASAP.
I remember the first leason I learned from my first MJ growing guroo. "Don't mind fuck it man!" It's a weed. Let it do it's thing. Just as an example of that; I ripped up the plant I grew out last spring (2007) and barried it at the bottom of my compost pile. There were no leaves left on it at all. When I went out to turn the compost pile over this spring, that plant had started to put out new growth down there at the bottom ot the pile where there's no air, and very little water. Granted, what little new growth was there was pale white, and the whole thing died 2 days later, but it just goes to show that this "weed' can survive just about anything you can throw at it.

gr8 advice Vintner. i totally agreee fill any extra spaces you have with some practice cuts. and take them from different locals on the plant.I have found that lower growth seems to root much faster then the main stem growth and the upper fat shoots.

vints origonal buddy said it. let her do her thing and its all good. last tuesday i took two cuts off the bottom branches of all my new chemdd plants. put them in gratefuheads wick cloner(1st time using it) left it alone and then went out of town for the weekend this tuesday 85% have roots im pretty sure(cant see but they look like they starting to grow). I will find out tonight. point is let em be and be patient.
Im pretty sure you already know this, But i know i wanted to tug on those girls last week right b4 i left but thought let em be let em be. LOL
I know your gonna have 100% this time. if not we can always try the wick style next. but iknow your money this time.

BTW how did those plants get so tall and lanky? growth pattern? interesting.(scratching chin)

Yah YAh. yah the ez clone works really well so you should be good to go .
what are you running in it. with my diy one its just straight tap water. 7-10 days usually showing bumps or roots.
As soon as they show bumps throw a little root excelurator, and they seem to explode but ive only used it(root excel form house and garden super expensive shit) once now so a couple more times to prove that its having a large effect cuase it needs to if im gonna by more of this price shiatin the future.
are you running any boomers right now those are always interesting to see. my mom has started some edible mushrooms and some other kind to help out in the garden. im finding some info shes tellin me very interseting.
