Raistlin:...when I just saw the pictures of the GA clone I heard the song T.A.P.S. in my head. The only real spark of life/hope is that tuft of green at the very top.
Don't freak....as you said: you can get fully rooted gals again of the same variety. In either event, you know things are going to turn around for the better (quite possibly within a few days). You will be the clone master and many will come from far and wide to just catch a glimpse of your clones in the thread.
As far as the seedlings dying: if they kicked off like that...better sooner than later. They probably weren't genetically the soundest.....it's evolution's way of thinning the herd. I would concentrate your energies on finding that special "gal" or "gals" to put in the vaults, and focus on them exclusively.

By the way: those Powerhouses look like little powerhouses indeed! You may want to keep a few cuts.

I'm 100% certain there's a thread somewhere around here with nice pictures about cloning. Here's the gist: you're going to find a nice sized piece of stem with maybe 2 internodes.....You take a razor blade and make a nice clean 45 degree angle cut and put that baby in the medium. If you take it from the top of the plant, it will invariably make that plant bushier.....and probably not something you'll want to flower (unless you're just throwing it outdoors for the hell of it). You'll want to keep those plants around as "moms" to continuously take cuttings from. If you don't want to take cuttings from the top of a plant....try to take smaller lateral shoots at the bottom that would have just turned out like "larf".
Honestly it all depends on what you are going to do with the plants you take cuttings from.

Of course there will inevitably be plants you don't want to take any cuts off of.....those you'll keep pristine and flower as usual. The key here is to have some gals that are kind of disposable, with the intent of ressurrecting them as clones and future moms.

OK: little bit of editing here...; Raist...I found a video on YouTube that pretty much sums up the whole shabang. Guess what, the guy uses an EZ CLONER also....he also goes on to show how to clone without one. Something strange I noticed: he does that funny thing that was done to your clones: he cuts the fan leaves in half.....not really necessary. He also says some stuff that's not entirely accurate but not a problem (such as); you need to cut 3 nodes (honestly his clones are a bit on the large side...they don't need to be that crazy big...), pH Balancing of the water (just use tap water)....he emphasizes a 45 degree angle and then proceeds to cut about an 89 degree angle (ROFL). There's nothing quite as good as seeing it with your own eyes..but I'm stopping short of posting the YouTube link here....the moderators drop a batch whenever YouTube comes up apparently (copyright infrigement, yada...yada...yada...blah, blah). Video is a bit over 8 minutes long, but honestly it could have been about 1 minute long....and gotten the same info across...this guy takes the slow boat to China. Anyway, I'm gonna send that link in a PM to ya. If anyone else wants it, shoot me a PM and I'll send it...don't want Gypsy to blow a gasket over silly crap.

RM thanks for showin me those tape pics. Im sure to use it in future endeavors! Really sorry to see that clone like that. My wick cloner didnt work and I put em out of their misery. But I got bitches to clone now anyway so I can try again with a different type of cloner. I just gotta find what works for me. I'll be tryin the bubble cloner and the vermiculite wick system suggested to me by InPotiTrust. His seems to be workin well and it's a simple system to use. wait,what? oh yeah bitches to clone...5 confirmed fems, 4 confirmed males, and one who doesnt wanna decide just yet. I just updated over there so if you wanna see pics theres some up.

the clones medium is way too wet dood.
moist is perfect.
o2 needs to get to the roots for them to pop.
id hate to say it, but if she hasnt rooted by now.......
the bpp are stretchy bitches for the most part.
keep beating down (w/o breaking) the main cola to let the side branches catch up.
i dont take clones from way soft branches.
they will mush out on you if they are not in perfect conditions.
i also dont take real woody cuts, i find a nice medium.
if the cut fails, i can see to it that santa comes early.

i was asking whats the best way to beef up some (side)branching for more cuts per plant
i have never watched a you tube vid in my life never got past dial up with this old shitty comp
BUT i do have a jorge cerventas DVD (sux !) but he shows cloning in it quite well
i have also read JJ's thread, the entire thing TWICE !
and promptly forgot most of it as soon as i was done
they really need to pick out the relevant info and sticky that, not all the BS that don't matter

eh you were right about the (original)medium being to wet CF
the cup its in now is what i trans planted into just a day ago (has roots)
however its been over a month and has the black moist edges
thats the main thing i forgot about JJ's thread
i have only watered the soil in the cup once to moisten it, think thats to much ?

now i'll be the first to admit i damn sure don't know everything
but i am kinda learned a wee bit now, i just need that practice
i want to thank you all (everyone that has advised here) for your help
i have a EZ cloner on the way gifted from a very kynd soul
and i have some rapid rooters i'll use them up cause i bought them, might as well

i feel much more confidant going into this upcomming round

Part 2 is about cloning. it's the method I use. Works pretty well, especially if you add the peroxide and only keep the soil moist as CF says, and not drenched. A great way to get practice cloning if you don't want to waist any MJ clones is to pick up a couple of tomatoe plants and practice w/them. Matters clone pretty easily
P.S. When my pix come, they'll be in the FUCKEM thread. No grow thread of my own for the Vintner. Don't grow enough. Besides, I plan to start that wine thread soon. That will keep me bussy enough around here.

i have read just a bit of it
not as much as i would like though, because of my veg space i need to keep SMALL moms

another thing i am thinking about is having no moms
just veging clones out while others flower
then taking cuts for next veg and flower previous veggers
now of course to do this i need to get ALOT better at cloning
cause if i fudge, i'll lose my keepers

so its all just ideas for now
