hey raist, Wbs is wild bird seed, i guess you could say its similar to a cake, i used liquid culture to colonize a 2 whole pint jars of it. works pretty well, i just have not gotten to the casing part yet. is the whole crushed oyster shell needed? was thinking about using some promix verm and coco mix to case it... the promix has ph buffers in it no?

i have only gotten into the casing in the last year, before that it was straight PF tek - cakes in aquarium's

but try it out man see if it works for ya
i would go do a bit more reading in a shroom forum on casing though
never used promix for anything so i am unfamiliar with that as well
and i don't know if WBS should be soaked like rice cakes either

for my second flush on these PE after i soaked my casing i just covered it with FFOF and it seems to be doing just fine

are they small and brown? i think they are called lawn mower mushrooms or something? i have a bunch of them too.. last year i asked around mycotopia and general consensus was that they taste ok, but really do nothing for you.

all the trippy mushrooms are technically poisonous, thats what makes you "trip" but some are a diffrent kind of poison that our bodies cannot process and will make you very very very sick... if not worse. everyone please be very careful in choosing what mushrooms to eat.

By the way: I'm not sure if it was stated earlier in the thread (I'm just an old lazy stoner....)...but I'm curious: what types of mushies are you running?

When I found out that certain states were putting the kibosh on mushies, I spent a ton on sporeprints of various species. These are my deep storage time babies......I got treasure coast, golden teacher....a bunch of stuff. Not the ideal starting point...I'd rather have the spore syringes ready to roll....
But I thought if the govt. got all Orwellian, I'd better have a stash that was readily transportable, easily concealable and could be stored for decades. Which of course, I now do.
