right on i like a white peice of paper to lay leaf tips on for inspection, trics show up much better and lit better then on a tabel top. try it next inspection timepieceofmyheart said:yeah....what sleepy said.........deja -vu
Anyway, I pull a small leaf with plenty of trichomes on it and lay it on my desk to look at it. I think one leaf would be representative enough of the maturity of the plant, wouldn't it?
when i inspect trics for maturity after cuting a tip of tric covered leaf from top mid bottom of nug i inspect them on white paper, i inspect every top bud in the grow. yes some tops will be farther along then others. this would depend on the placement to lighting, generally speaking like in my cab nugs directly under my 400w would be say 50% cloudy 30% clear 10-20% amber. tops to the outside of the lighting say maybe 50-50 cloudy clear and the bottoms usally could allways go another wk. but when time and space is of concern i cut the whole plant as is if the tops are ready bottoms arent far behind. also bottom nugs dry faster then the bigger tops so i can be a smoken on them while everything else is dry/curingimnotcrazy said:Well, I would guess if the cola/bud the leaf you check was receiving the same amount of light as the rest of the plant then it would be indicative of the whole plant. Would definatly be close at least, but I wouldn't begin to judge maturity of lower budsites using a leaf from a top cola. Not that it matters much though as the lower sites are usually used for bubble hash/BHO/ISO Oil ETC.
