I went to AA once.Im sorry but I dont subscribe to the idea that praying to GOD.
Is gonna help.
Sure it may help those familiar with bullshit.
I got myself into this mess-I will get myself out of it.
Self-pity and devine intervention wont help.

Self control does.

Guess what? AA is nondenominational and if someone tells you you have to pray to god, tell them to get lost! The point is YOU or I are not in control of many things. I would tell people the moon or sun were my "higher power" and why not? they both control more than any man likely ever will.

16 months is great! more power to you! If you do it without AA that's great. however it IS available if you or anyone else that needs it. I personally haven't gone for 10 plus years, and have 25 booze free. I am however glad it is available.

...im with the drink again.

...and when it's done, ya try again. Rinse n' repeat bro.

Not patting myself on the back or nothing...but I noticed I said I'd stop 3 days ago.
Haven't had a sip yet....even though the gf showed up last night with beers.
Also only had 5 hours of glorious sleep in the past 72 hours. I remember why I drank so much now.

One day atta time they say...

I can fully relate man.

Year ago I wouldn't have got outta bed unless there was whiskey in the freezer and beer in the fridge. Just couldn't face the day, too much stress.

Now that my charges have been dropped, I have access to my kids again, etc, etc, ...the list of shit is long and boring but you get the idea...

Point is get the rest of yourself together. (dealing with your loss)

This isn't gonna work for you if you haven't a clear mind bro. It's not a lack of will power or ya wouldn't be here. It's just that it looks like quitting drinking right now is more of a compounding matter thus making it more difficult.

Just my experience, but know we are here for ya either way. :tiphat:

I stopped drinking 13 plus years ago because there were a million reasons. But if I had to sum it up in just one word that applied to all my reasons it would be........................ Ugly

I stopped ignoring my inner voice.

My 1st big gift of sobriety was sleep. For years I was up unless I had alcohol or Benadryl.
I could not shut my head off at night. Im not sure if others have this feeling of crawling out of there skin and your brain running constantly but it was no way to live for me.

Well a short time after ending my affair with alcohol , I was falling asleep at 9:00 PM naturally. It was amazing and peaceful. Its just one of the gifts that came out of my life style change and one of the reasons to never go back.

I write about my self because I refuse to tell anyone what to do. I never ever ever look down on anyone that is drinking it just not my style. I have found some draw backs socially
with not drinking but people who don't like my sobriety can bounce.
