I am building my own cabon filter and unsure which type of carbon particles to use.I have access to aquarium charcoal(random shaped particles) and also carbon pellets(Lab grade) Which of these two would be better to use?

I think your best bet is the aquarium charcoal, the pellets don't seem like they would be too efficient.

this design I came up with if you looking for a cheap build, it does the job for a 4x4 room it recycles the air,

looks cool bro but do u have a howto for thisone ? would like to make on of my own insteaf of buyin a new expensive one...
finer/random sized grains pack tighter, giving air a longer travel path through the bed. Of course the tighter the bed the more it will restrict airflow.
