Q3corn's dank mini adventures

Hey gang, sorry for the absence

So I'm wondering if the whatever-material-I-use could just be cut so it intersects the exhaust? Maybe only pulls half from the bulbs, half from the rest of the space?

I don't anticipate I'll be buying anything at any shops in the coming weeks. My state is starting it's lockdown procedures, and I've been working all weekend preparing for the inevitable forced time off.

If I find something in my storage unit, I'll use that.

I'm guessing that should work.

You've still got 3/4 of the fan that would pull from the top.

I doubt that there would be any "backwash" from the exhaust fan between the two areas.

Your circulating fan may spread the heat between the areas a bit...?

I'm in lockdown too.
But I've got a freezer full of food and lots of toilet paper. Lol.

Well, no heat guard on the large cab until this whole covid thing blows over. Big cab is gonna double as a veg and clone space. Now I at least have plenty of real estate to practice some cloning!

And the cabinet does a great job at giving me a nice photo shoot space

I topped the Conifers to take clones, and I had a chance to give the plants a better look from above. Very interesting leaf patterns.

Lots of 4- and 6-point leaves. And 2 of them split into 2 tops and got 3 leaves from that node. Very strange. I'm wondering if that was some response to the environment or if it's genetic? I'm making note of it in case that ends up being some sort of marker in the future.

Well despite my town recommending everyone being in self-isolation, I'm somehow finding myself spending LESS time working on my plants! Weird! I've spent a good amount of time at my girlfriend's place, so I guess that's a reason. I'll be updating more after this weekend since I'll have some news to report.

My JHxPG is at day 56, and probably has 2 weeks to go. It got fed some light nutrients the other day and is looking like it'll be done soon. Lots of cloudy trichs and amber trichomes are already on the sugar leaves.

The BBG's are already in their 5th week and have stacked some serious flower structure. They're probably the ones I've paid attention to the least since they're the only bagseeds I'm currently growing. Really I just popped those to see if my oldest seeds were still viable, and it turns out they are.

The Chuy x PG plants are at day 17F. No personality yet, but they're flowering. I'll reveg one of them if it feels like something worth keeping. I've only got about 12 seeds left from that cross, so if I wanna do any further production with it I'll probably wanna go through a few more of those before I f2 it.

G33xPG parents are looking good. The male looks similar to the ChuyxPG male. Clearly half-brothers.

I have clones of my Conifers and clones of my Dogwalker x Conifers rooting. Those will be the next to flower.

Pics to come later. Happy growing! :joint:

BBG-5 this morning, day 32F

Nice trichome development and really attractive bud structure. This and the BBG-4 look pretty similar to each other, and to the first 3 I grew some five years ago. I'm fairly certain these were seeds from an accidental hermie, since they've all been female and they all share very similar characteristics.

Never got to smoke the first 3 because I fucked up the cure and they got moldy. Clean jars, people!

That must completely suck at the last stage, after so much time money and effort...

It makes you just want to cut it and toss it in the oven to avoid a complete loss.
(I've been close)...

Luckilly it was one of my first grows, so I used that info to learn. Sucked to not have that bud to smoke, but it was ok since I had a regular supply of flower anyway.

That black muddy river is what I'm most excited about!

JHxPG day 60F close-up

Looking good. I took a look through my jeweler's loupe and i thought I was seeing some amber trichomes on the buds. The sugar leaves have a ton of amber and even black trichomes, so I know those spots are gonna be full of cbn sleepy goodness, but this was gonna be a more uplifting high. Anyway, I took these pics and zoomed in and couldn't see the amber trichs on the buds like I could on my own. Makes me think I have more than 2 weeks to go still. I was really hoping to have this chopped before day 70!

I'll keep waiting it out. I know the bottoms still need some more time to mature. I started the "flush" yesterday, just a small amount of plain water.

What do you guys see? Am I getting too antsy? Should I give it another 2+ weeks?

Still goin' strong! JHxPG is showing mostly cloudy trichomes with just a few ambers on the buds here and there, but the lowers are a mix of cloudy and clear. I might let this go longer than 70 days.

I decided to turn one of my micro cabinets into a clone space, so I got one weak light in there to power everybody. I haven't been getting these clones to show roots yet in the bigger cabinet, and I'm thinking either the light was too intense, or the air was too dry, or something, but I think their own catered space is gonna be better. Ideally I would get to the point where my big cab is for flowering, but we're not there yet! Still got that pesky heat problem when I get more than 60 watts of light. I don't have anything available to make a heat shield, and since I'm self-quarantined I can't go out and get anything.

I gotta get this cloning procedure figured out before I start popping seeds from these other breeders that I've gotten. I know I'll have a few keepers for sure out of the C&C packs.

Maybe just cardboard for the first time, then you can use it as a stencil for whatever you use later.

Cardboard near warm surfaces always makes me a bit nervous, tbh...

Yeah, me too, but apparently, the ignition point of paper is 450° F and dry grass is 550° F.

It needs to be a lot warmer than your SILs would ever get.

I put a lit globeless 8 Watt SIL in a coffee can full of dry pot leaves and buried it. I got nothing more than a hay smell.

You're not leaving your space now so you should be able to keep a close eye on everything.

You should be able to smell anything going wrong.

It'll give you something to do. You're probably going to get really bored anyway.

Ok what I'm calling my mega cab is getting a full-light test. 6x 14w LEDs

Temps are staying around 81 at the canopy, top temp maxed out at 84 2-hours in.

And here's my JHxPG last night

That's not too bad, but keep in mind that in the coming summer, the input air temperature may be 10° warmer which will probably mean your cab temperature will probably be 10° warmer... Unless you've got air conditioning but that gets expensive when the plant needs to be cooler than you do.

Well you're right in that I'm not fully equipped for summer, so my next step is to quarantine the heat like we've been talking about. Just gotta get through the next month!
