Well, we're at 20 days of flower in the Mega cab with the SolSheet light. I still haven't gotten a way to measure the intensity of the light, but going off of the look of the plants, I'd say I'm right in the window. Plants are praying upwards and overall showing serious vigor underneath this thing. Temperatures are reaching 89F, but that's to be expected since we've been having days regularly above 90 here. No AC in my house means everyone gets warm.
Seeded Conifers are at day 70, with maybe 2 more weeks to go. I'm not watching trichome maturity, I'm looking for seed maturity. I want as many mature seeds as possible out of this harvest. I don't plan on doing any flushing, and I'll probably just process the flower into topical oils. I've considered tincture but I find myself using topicals more and more these days, so that's the direction I'll go.
My BBG and Chuy x Purple Goat harvests are nearly ready to be sampled! They're almost 3 months post-harvest, so they're nearing peak-cure. My clone of CxPG2 is showing new growth, and I'm so happy about that. It's gorgeous flower that has developed a fantastic musky smell that I liken to old-school blueberry or ATF.
The JHxPG jar is almost empty, and is a fantastic high that glanced at the edge of energizing sativa. The flavors/smells were diminished, most likely because of a too-quick of a drying process. Wasn't able to save that, but I have about 100 seeds from that cross still, should I chose to dig again.
Pictures of my Chuy x Purple Goat #2, which is so far the prettiest plant this session
2 month cure. If the sugar leaves are healthy, I don't trim them off until I smoke the bud. I like the look of it and it protects the trichomes on the flower. And if I'm rolling joints or spliffs I'll just throw the sugar leaves into the grinder and smoke 'em up! My harvests are so small it's not worth it to do anything else with trim.
Left 2 bushy plants are Gelato33 x Purple Goat
Middle 6 are Conifer
Right 5 are SUV
G33xPGs stretched almost none once they entered flower. Dense bushy budsites with deep serrated leaves. Dark green overall with pink coloration on the less healthy leaves. It's a really surprising ting to see them go red like a maple leaf this early on.
Conifers in the middle, there's 2 different ones in there, #13 and #15, but you really wouldn't be able to tell from here. They're nearly identical in this stage. They had been underfed for the weeks coming into flowering, and they're slowly but surely getting their green back. They're very hungry in comparison to the other plants in this grow. Not so much needing more frequent feeding, but they just need a stronger mix than anyone else.
SUV's on the right got stressed before flower, so they had a lot of leaves fall off in their first week. I'm sad to see it happen but at least the tops will have decent buds. They're all looking fairly uniform.
Temps with lights-on has been between 80 and 89, depending on how hot it is outside. That's a fair window for an LED grow, and I'm really only concerned with that kind of heat if it's too humid or if the lights are too close. But since All of these plants are at least 6" from the diodes, I don't think any real burning will occur.
SUV update from the cabinet:
These plants got such stress they've barely created budsites to make any real amount of flower, but the flower they're pumping out smells unbelievable. Of the 5, 3 smell like sour grapes and grapefruit, one smells like sour diesel, and one has a very mild vegetative smell. They're all fairly even on development, and are definitely in the 60-70 day flower time range.
I've popped over 100 seeds of this and flowered over 50 females, and I would say as of now I would keep 70% of these plants based on smell alone. I'm thinking I need to get a new (real) name for this strain and start dishing out some gift packs to friends. I have F2 seeds that have been untested, but I'm anticipating even less consistency in that generation, so I think I'll share these F1's and then work this plant until at least a 3rd generation or some level of incrossing before I feel confident in it's consistency. This and my Conifer will definitely be my long-term projects.
Other than that, open-pollination of some heirloom indica strains is my other project, just for seed increases. Strains like NL Blvd, NL1, Deep Chunk, Williams Wonder, and a few others are on my list. They're already IBLs or close to it, so I don't anticipate too much digging beyond what I pop initially
Unfortunately, I think my Chuy x Purple Goat #2 reveg clone is dying!! I saw some signs of PM in one of my cabinets so I made a quick h2o2 spray, and I think my mix was too strong! Lots of dead leaves and brown spots on that little baby, and it's fallen back down to almost a stump.
Wondering if there's anything I can do to bring this dying little baby back?
Getting some new beans going! I'll be harvesting my seeded Conifers tomorrow, so I'm gonna start tapping into my new collection!
Starting the NL Blvd first. Northern Lights was the first really good weed I ever smoked, and it was also one of the first plants I ever grew 12 years later. Now I've got some verified classic northern lights genetics to work with from seed, and I'm honestly stoked. I'm starting 4 for now, I don't want to run out of room too fast, and if for some reason something happens with my germination practice I wanna make sure there's plenty of seeds leftover to try again.
Today I harvested the Conifers. I hung them in my nano drying box with paper bags under them to catch the seeds that fall out.
Yield isn't great, especially on #15, but I think I got a few hundred seeds easy in here to hunt through. These plants had some stress in their lives with underfeeding in early flower and an accidentally too-strong h2o2 spray to fight a suspected PM presence, so they dried out a bit. Also I think one of them technically finished at least a week ago, but since the seeds weren't all mature I just left them all in to guarantee I have as many mature seeds as possible.
And in the Mega cab, everyone is actually looking great. Conifer 13 and Conifer 15 are on the right, definitely showing more personality.
One of them (lower-right) got what looked like a mold on the seed the other day, it had a stringy white substance on it that looked like stretched cotton. I got a little h2o2 on a q-tip and wiped around it, and the plant has basically looked the same since. I'm not really sure what happened, if it was maybe a myco colony growing or something else? The little soil has been damp but not moist, and they've had a little humidity dome over them to keep RH high. I don't know if that's gonna runt the seedling or if it's just maybe stuck in limbo for some reason, but I'll keep it around as long as I can. Either way, definitely 3 new plants and hopefully at least one of them is female.
I fucked up and didn't clean a spray bottle well enough, and accidentally misted my NL blvd seedlings with vinegar water. Noooo! But thankfully only 3 of the 4 died, one of them I must have just not misted because it didn't react to anything at all.
So the other day I put 3 more seeds into paper towels, and yesterday those seeds were germ'd enough to put into dirt. Now they're breaking soil and I'm back to having 4 NL blvd seedlings growing. Yay!
Mega cabinet is in really good shape. Temps are for the most part staying between 82 and 86, although a few heat-wave days bumped it up over 90. But with enough airflow and regular watering these plants haven't shown a lick of heat stress!

I'm pretty happy with how things have progressed in the last 2 months. I expect my SUVs and GPGs to all be done by day 70. Conifers could be as many as 85 days since that's how long previous phenos have flowered. Issues are at a minimum and I'm very thankful for that!
Oh, and the seeded Conifers got put into jars the other day. I'll be processing out the F2 seeds any time now!
