I will go 240 V for the new one as it makes sense and they are actually 20$ cheaper than the 120's @ the place I buy my gear, thanks!
how much do you get them for,where, and can they be ordered through the net? i usually see the 240's being a little more than the 120's, so im pretty interested to know where you get this deal!

15$ cheaper, not $20, my bad. Of course, with the dollar the way it is, this is alot of money for a ballast compared to what you pay in/from the US. I like shopping at Pro-gro though, great bunch of guys.

Super, your at more risk of RF interference but just because you HAVE the silver one doesn't automatically MEAN you'll get RF interference. They upgraded the old ballasts because some poeple have had problems, not everyone. You could get a new 400 blue one or 600 purple one... but if you haven't had any problems for a year... it would be just wasting money, others would argue however, better to be safe than sorry.

So whats the benefit of an external fuse on these?

thats the last version. What exactly am i supposed to be looking at? the price? i dont think i saw anything about a fuse. Im pretty stumped man, what am i looking for on that site?

sorry thought it was a new one ... that colour blue looks kinda purple ish .. probally my monitor/eyes lmao ... they could have coloured it orange and made no mastake lol

I have a blue lumatek and a purple lumatek 600 along with a hidhut 400 and I don't experience any RF interference. I have also altered each lumatek cord for cool tubes. Still no problems.
you have to alter the chords when you use cooltubes? what did you do?

You have to cut off the end of the cord and wire it to the socket inside of the cool tube. Some speculate that this will cause RF interference. I have not experienced any...

You dont have to cut and rewire anything! Its $10.00 for a Sunlight Supply to Hydrofarm adapter. My purple lumatek is connected to my Super Sun 2 reflector with one.
These really are great ballasts. I have a future brite and the lumatek IS brighter and a lot more reliable. Actually my old 1000watt doesnt look much brighter...
However, i just so happen to have a TV in my garage probably 20ft away, and there is pretty extreme interference with the picture. Not sure if that has to do with the adapter or what...
If youre growing in very close proximity to someone elses TV, like in an apartment complex u might have a problem.

i wonder if that adaptor is r/f shielded or not? Oh, and i wanna get the supersun 2 a/c, do you think a 600watt would do well in that reflector?
Hydrofarm cool tubes only come wih a socket and you do have to buy a cord, and for some reason everybody that sells hydrofarm and lumatek will not carry the 12 dollar lock and seal cord, instead you have to pay 30 bucks for a hydrofarm all system cord set and cut the socket off just to get the 12 dollar cord you need. If you paid a 100 dollars more for the SS cool tube you can just buy the adaptor. I don't know how often it can be said but you will not find a better price on lumatek ballasts than md hydro.I can't wait to get another blue 600 watt 240v and dump this purple piece of shit. the ballast actually puts out more heat than the bulb and like I said it is big, bulky,heavy,and not at all aesthetically pleasing.
are you getting the new blue lumateks or the mdhydro ones next?
are u saying that u like the old blue ones over the new purples? very interesting! But you said that your purple is heavy, but arent the old blue ones more than twice the 8 pound weight of the purple ones?
