Imnsho, that would be incorrect.

Sensi cratered because Nevil was arrested, not because they lost their original parents.

Ben Dronkers fucked him for all of his seeds just for bail money, Ben made millions and millions off of Nevil's work, retired to Thailand, and got endless rub and tugs from the fine "ladies" there. His son took over, didn't have a fucking clue what he was doing, and drove the business into the ground.

No planned obsolescence, just ineptitude. :)

If you were there, back in the day, their plants really were _that_ good. NL#5 was truly revolutionary and it's genes course through most of what is considered quality cannabis these days.
Their plants can’t have been that good if the quality went downhill so quick when they lost the original parents and had to find replacements from the offspring.

Planned obsolescence back firing on them.
When they started they were among if not the best, but they weren't breeders, if they were they would still be the best, they were business people who happened to have bought good stock and didn't preserve. Many killer strains have been lost through greed and today are mere photocopies. ex: sensi star,sk#1,ice, ak47,c99,blueberry,etc.

How do your descendants of nl compare to the original? I was there, agree it was some of the best I’ve grown/smoked. Didn’t make seeds though, had no idea I wouldn’t be able to get more.

They peaked then lost because they didn't love the plant and only the money it made for them. Karma

The best "indica" that was released in a long time that I have tried is deep chunk, a great line for breeding hybrids,it's a fantastic hash plant. High resin production with a hard kick .Hats off to Tom Hill for putting it out there.

I have a Deep Chunk IBL F6 pack of seeds but have not tried them. They were a freebie with a seed order.

Is there a bank out there still carrying a legitimate source for deep chunk?

I have some seeds from RSC but Ive read that they're extremely unstable

I don't know of any,Kingdom of seeds had it ,maybe still do but I haven't tried it. By stability do you mean it hermies or just all over the place? I have it in a cross and it's really dominant.

Both from what ive seen. Hermie issues as well as bigger/smaller phenos, that kind of thing.. But if you have it in a cross they probably used a keeper so you're good to go. Real Seeds are one of the only legit sources for landrace and im a big fan

It is my understanding that the guy from KOS stopped producing seed in 2017 and is just selling off whats left of his old stock until he finally calls it quits. Hes pretty up there in age apparently. This was brought to my attention after i ordered a pack of his black forest.
Im not all that optimistic though. 8 years is some old seed depending on storage

I didn't get mine from them,I realize I worded it like that after rereading. I took richard williams congo and crossed it with reefermans red congo and the deep chunk is still heavy in the seeds.
