Project EDEN - the COCO-COOP

B

bonecarver_OG

well i did a recount today of the ones i plan to keep of the seedlings :D

its quite a few - but some of the initial strains are gone - and some go to friends places :D

this is the list ofall the seedlings :D i got pot space for all of them to continue selection later on from these selected ones.

super-G - - 10
cascadia - - 18
x-18 x DC - - 5
PTK - 2
special mix original - 1
dc x dc - 1
lovepotion - 6
alibi f3 5T - 3
LDS - 7
budlr bls x dst - 1
johny deep - 3

cheese x trainwreck - 2
lui - 1
mentalfloss - 2
bogglegum - 3
ROX - 1

thats all in all 66 left to go thru :D :D hehehe i wonder how its going to look like in a few weeks hehehe :D

if there isnt enough space for all the darn pots - more selection will be done in the transplanting.

peace :D

did an other redesign of the exterior of the gro room - ihave now maxified space to be able to reach the plants from front and back :)

also built the future cloning chamber - well actually its already in use - its 1,5 meters long and has 2 x 58 - hehe - now with 6 clones of ssh x ptk ready to transplant to soil. for my gf's brother.

moved the old reveg chamber and kind of stashed it as a auxiliary table.

i put up the rest of the mylar too. and some other stuff too. basicly the flowering room is ready but missing the air filter only. :)

im trashed hehe

pics later :D

just sprayed all the plants with rhizotonic. im preparing them for the transplant tomorow, hope for some quick root growth.. the ones not transplanted tomorow get transplanted the day after etc.

also got some clones to transplant to soil - i hope to be able to do it tomorow - they got way too long roots to wait more :D

one week of veg i decided - at 18 - 6 after the last plants have been transplanted. hope fully the rhizo tonic i have will last about 2 weeks more. maybe i should just aply it after dark the first days after transplant. the coco i allways soak with rhizotonic anyway. it means it shold litterally be loaded with it.

one week after transplant starts the 12/12 - and the rhizotonic is just to add some boost in the root growth in the preflower veg-state. then i will start giving bio boost for a while.

im still giving quite low on the nutes really (max 25/25 in 10 liters) - that way i can control the size a bit. im afraid they might get too big in flowering (they will - no doubt allways doo). hehe anyway - if i start of with about 60 plants in flowering - taking away the weakest of the strains i have many of.. and then if im lucky and get the normal male/female ratio - im going to end up with 30 "small" female plants in flower... and thats about maxing out the space ... all the clones i got are going tight together on the two short sides of the growroom.

what i havent decided 100% on is what way i should put the light on to get the most out of it. im thinking of starting to prepare tomorow some way to hang up the light the oposite direction. gotto have a good look at how to do it. im sure i will solve it some way hehe :D

also one problem i got is the tube piece i got left for connecting to the airfilter is a bit too short to put the air filter exactly where i want it - but never mind - it should be ok anyway..

tomorow im going to pick up about 200 liters of coco more. i have about 150 liters already. should be about enough - going super cheap this time. :D

the best part with this surgery's recovery is - i have now time i can spend on the grow room - its so nice to see the day-to-day changes :D

ok some pics:

this is the new cloning chamber - about 1,6 meters long and its got a depth allowing me to ad more fluros later when the clones get bigger. the its and old bed frame - put up against the wall length wise - with the lighting hanging from the "upper" legs and the trays resting on the bottom legs.

all of the outide is covered with high density styrofoam - about 10 cm thick - an excellent isolation material. the inside is lined with mylar. - the outside is covered in thick black industrial plastic (hehe great these things i can get from work..) - and on the outside is a indian batik-fabric to make it look nicer. after all - its in our bedroom. no light is basicly leaking out at all.

the design is made for keeping the humidity and the warmth of the 2x56W fluoros in there. later i might ad small ventilation and 2 x 56 W (all in all 17900 lumens in there) more to veg the clones - but just if they dont start getting a good size. - i promised them about 2 palms tall..

notice the long tray is the "cover" of the fluros - perfect size - cover exactly the coresponding space. in rockwool tubes this would fit about 150 or more - but i dont need that much space. when i ad light i change to bigger trays.

well i said i redsign the growroom - i opened up some space on the back side for easier axcess. from there i can also water and check on the plants.

here is the other "passage way" - this one is inside the growroom, later the floor will be full of pots.. and i will have to take some out to be able to water them.. thats after transplant that is.

the big bush in the back is the astrofog bushes - 3 of them in the pot - 2 of one pheno and 1 of one other.

on the floor is the ones going to my mates and some future moms of SSH x PTK - and on the left side is some more clones (to flower) of ssh x ptk. and some future moms of astrofog, and some cascadia etc..

here are the seedlings:

here's clones of ssh x ptk and astrofog on the left / botom half and seedlings on the right

the big SSH x PTK mom - that will get severly cut down before flowering - its too bushy for its own good - and i need to take about 30-35 clones of it. i got an other 2 moms i will cut down completelly to use also for cloning. but they are much smaler. about 10-15 clones are going to get taken from them..

all clones not going to the mates will go to my friends patios. got 2 spaces to put a very few plants. max maybe 4-6 clones of the ssh x ptk to share..

here is how the grow room looks like when u enter. - a workbench i frontwith a shelf for doing stuff like clones etc - also i got an other smaller bench on the side i use for storage and table, but its behind the door.

Looking killer Bone. Just love seeing the updates. I was wondering about the coco blocks. Since, i've never used them. I'm guessing you unwrap them and add water to them. Then they expand to large amounts of loose coco. How much are you getting per a block or cube? Thanks again for sharing your grow with use. Great job
Take care,
BG

thanx :D

to be a bit more specific: heres some more explanations about the seedlings..

most of racos stuff are on the first pic. a trained eye can maybe spot the dc and crosses and the other tomhill genetics.. :D - click and pull this space to for answer [** in the middle in and in the back the back!! **]hehehe

here u can se the medjool and bacchus work in action :D with some clones of my keepers on the bottom left :D

here u can see the LP's in the back row -and then alibis and cascadias :D

and some dc stuff in the botom rigth corner.

GDW - hello mate :D

from one slab - thats about 1 meter long - 3 feet - and compressed its about half a foot a cross and a about 2 inches thick - give about 50 liters. its about 11.1 gallons of loose coco.

i usually now adays use industrial garbage cans to soak and fluff the coco up inside.

i use 1 part distilled water to 2 of tap water
i ad 40 ml rhizotonic to each 10 liters of soaking water (one slab)
and the nutes the plants that are going to get transplanted are using in the moment.
also i ad a bit of supervit.

i adjust the water to ph 6

10 liters per slab gives 50 liters of fluffy humid coco.

thats it :D

darn... went to the growshop and they had only one slab left.... and they dont know when they are getting more :( seems like i have to push the transplant or atleast part of it further on.

sucks.. lets see friday.. if not seems im going to recycle the greenhouse coco - with bugs and what not from outdoors in it :(

Hey Bone, thanks for the info. Man, didn't think i was going to get that much details, lolol. Thanks, never seen or used coco before, but looking forward to using it. I think i'm going to do a custom mixture of my own. Coco, being the most part of it. Thanks again and enjoy your threads. Sorry, to hear about there only being one coco slab left. Sounds to me, you need a new and better grow shop for your supplys, wink wink. Jokin. Take care and thanks,
BG

hehe :D we need a darn grow-super market open 24-7 here :D hehe :D

the thing about coco is that in its own its a good amendment to soil , or on it self in hydro ponics. coco has a ability to get salty if it gets time to get dry - so for some mixtures it doesnt work well.

but a good peat, some coco and all the rest of the organic stuff is an excellent combo. specially for big pots out doors.

for hydro coco out performs on its own. not really needed to ad anything - not even perlite.

the coco specific nutes by canna etc are all made to use with coco only. but its also possible to use other nutes - as long as u are more into the chemistry of nutrients and know what to mix in there. im not so i leave the nutes to the dutch :D

finally they said friday or monday tops it should be there in the shop. hope so :D

im gonna have a look on the net about the growshops around here to see if in any other town close by there is any shop etc - and try calling around :D

peace all

Thanks Bone, I think i'll mainly be going with the Coco straight. Since i grow in a Ebb&Flo setup and nothing else. I think the coco should run fine. I also use Pure Blend Pro and their full line. Not True Organic, but at lease it's not chemicals like others. Been happy with their stuff and also BioBizz. Really looking forward to trying coco. I hope it can support a large tree in a bucket system. If not, lava rocks will work fine. Thanks again for all your help. I'll make sure to return the favor and show you how to mow some foam, lolol. Let's see if you can figure that one out :) I'm sure you will.
Thanks,
BG

coco is excellent for growing BIG :D i use 40 liter - about 9 gallons for the biggest plants - like old moms etc :D never had any problem with plants falling over etc :D

coco needs specific nutes - please read the threads we have in this forum about specific coco nutes and try the one u find interesting :D :D

at the moment here in europe the biggest brands of coco nutes are CANNA and HESI. both are excellent.

peace

pst yeah i kno what ya mean ;)

bonecarver_OG

seems i might recycle the coco from our greenhouse grow..

peace ;)

WOW Raco, very nice buds you got there. I know your one happy smoker about now. Thanks for sharing it with us. You take care
Later,

Hey Bone! Sounds like you need a new and better Hydro shop in your city. With the size of the city you live in. I'm surprised you haven't thought about opening up one. From what you posted. Sounds like the store you shop at. It's all that also. Just my 2 cents.
Take care,
BG
