Preservations

I have full confidence in my abilities, just as I did when this preservation appeared destined for failure—from germination issues to parasite infestations. My confidence isn't merely self-assurance; it's a testament to my dedication and persistence. Through determination, hard work, and countless restless nights, I successfully completed Preservation #3. However, my satisfaction will only be complete when I achieve my ultimate goal of obtaining a variegated male.

This preservation project will proceed as anticipated, with Preservation 3.5 serving as a crucial step toward enhancing future genetics in an ornamental manner for everyone's enjoyment.

## Preservation #3 Progress Update

During Preservation #3, I encountered significant challenges. The initial batch of seeds was limited, with most succumbing to albinism or parasites in the medium. I was left with a mere handful of struggling plants, prompting concern for the potential loss of the entire line. In an attempt to salvage the situation, I contacted "My Friend" or so i had thought.. I'll be referencing from this point forward as "the original seed provider", explaining the preservation efforts and inquiring about the possibility of obtaining more seeds in exchange for a donation and an agreement that seeds would be sent back after the Preservation has been completed. I agreed and he agreed, stating he would send the seeds the next day and requested $200, which I paid along with an additional $30 for the international wire transfer. Unfortunately, after receiving the payment, he made excuses for not sending the seeds and eventually ceased all communication.

Despite these setbacks, I did not publicly disclose my concerns at the time of posting.

The surviving plants included three variegated females and one non-variegated male. Although my hopes diminished due to the male's lack of variegation, I was determined to find a variegated male before proceeding to Preservation #4. Thus, I initiated Preservation #3.5, during which I took clones and pollinated a variegated female. This phase allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the plants and their phenotypic expressions, enabling me to selectively propagate only the best clones.

As the pollinated plants produced and matured seeds, I continued to take clones from the remaining two variegated females, observing various phenotypic expressions to select from. Upon testing a few seeds, the results were as follows: two albino, one variegated, one undetermined, and one green seed, which was subsequently culled.

Though challenging, this process has provided valuable insights and has brought me closer to preserving the desired traits within the line.

Here is a varigated seedling from the batch of seeds that were just finished drying from Preservation#3.

### Clone Collection During Pollination

During the process of pollination and while awaiting the seeds to mature, I took several clones from the plants. This allowed me to continue the propagation and selection process effectively.

Preservation 3.5 is nearing completion, marking the culmination of over a year of dedicated work. I am thrilled to share that I successfully identified a variegated male plant with an even 50/50 split—half albino and half green. Unlike the other males, which were hermaphroditic, this one stood out and became the key to my breeding efforts. With this breakthrough, I am excited to announce that Preservation 4 is on the horizon.

I am uncertain about proceeding to Preservation 4 at this time. Preservation 3.0 did not meet my expectations, so I chose to remain focused on it, carefully searching for the ideal females and males. Out of the selection, only one male demonstrated resilience under stress testing and was successfully utilized to complete Preservation 3.5. However, I am still not entirely satisfied with the results. Due to the flowering of the clones at a smaller size, the seed yield was reduced to only a few hundred. As I am not content with the quantity of seeds, I am considering running this line again before moving forward.

This is such a cool log not sure how I missed it. I do like all the unique things your growing and the projects. Looks fun bro. So are you trying to isolate these albino traits or other ones? Sorry im high right now might have overlooked. If you need a tester lmk I'd love to run a few

Hello Nick,

Thank you for joining my thread. I’m excited to share that *Preservation 3: Esta Vida Loca* will continue from sections 3.5 through 3.9. You'll have the opportunity to see this segment one more time before I transition to *Preservation 4*. While 'esta vida loca' may capture a moment in time, it will inevitably be lost amid the countless preservation projects still to come. This thread is not about 'esta vida loca,' which will soon be old news, tucked away and forgotten deep down in a freezer in a garage.

Due to the lack of respect and professionalism on the THCFarmer forum, including a comment from one of their staff members, GNick55, referring to 'Esta Vida Loca' as trash, I have decided to discontinue sharing updates there. However, I will continue to provide updates on the three major platforms: RIU, 420, and the leading community in the field, ICmag, which remains unparalleled in its quality and engagement. Thank you for your continued support!

The seeds produced by the albino parts of the plant are colorless. These seeds give rise to 100% albino seedlings, which typically survive for only 1 to 2 weeks before dying.

The variegated parts of the plant consistently produce variegated offspring 100% of the time. The calyxes in these sections are particularly notable for yielding exceptionally beautiful plants. A seed originating from a green calyx of a variegated plant also produces a variegated plant.

During the flowering stage, the white portions of the fan leaves wilt earlier than the parts containing chlorophyll. However, this phenomenon does not occur during the vegetative stage.

The non-variegated portions of the plant have the potential to outgrow the variegated portions. However, both parts rely on each other for survival, maintaining a crucial balance within the plant.

Certain plants emit a lemony aroma, while others have a distinct bubble gum scent. The unique bubble gum fragrance suggests the possibility of bubble gum being part of the plant's lineage. This scent is clearly different from the citrus notes of the lemon-scented plants.

Pairing a variegated male with a variegated female significantly increases the likelihood of producing offspring with the desired variegated traits, making it the preferred breeding strategy. However, if necessary, a green male can be paired with a variegated female, or vice versa. In such cases, the resulting offspring will likely include a higher proportion of green plants compared to variegated ones. This method can still be utilized effectively when the availability of variegated plants is limited.

Crossing green plants exclusively results in 100% green phenotypes in the offspring. While this consistency is dependable, I am working to move this strain away from exclusively green phenotypes. During a previous grow, I paired two green phenotypes together, as I had a green female available at the time, along with a variegated plant.
