Preservations

Side note: (Web find) well known Breeder

I used a male Deep Chunk, that sported a few pistils (early in flower), to outcross to a bunch of strains with...from what I saw the herm tendencies were neither greater nor lesser than if I had used a standard male. It did not guard against hermies in the progeny (as per DJ Short's claims) and it did not induce a plethora of herms in the offspring either.

From my experience I found this to be... 😏 True or False? I know the answer

Here's the story of one of my strains.
(Purple Kush Auto) Regs

I got hold of this strain a few years back after it was discontinued. When I received it, it was in its F8 generation. During my first grow, I noticed that the males were producing pistils, which led me to cull them initially. Almost every male showed this trait, while the females were unaffected. I reached out to the breeder, but he dismissed my concerns, essentially calling me a liar.
Undeterred, I did another seed run with a different batch, but the same issue persisted: males producing pistils, while the females grew into stunning plants with beautiful hues of purple, red, pink, black, and a very rare and unique grey bud. I continued to selectively breed for the red colors.
Throughout this process, the offspring remained consistent. The males would occasionally produce a few pistils, but the females continue to flourish.

I've successfully cloned this one. There are two more that are identical, but they're off to a rough start. I'm waiting for them to grow so I can clone them before they enter the flowering stage. This preservation process will take as long as two regular preservation cycles.

I've got a lot on my plate and I'm questioning whether I have enough time to accomplish everything I want before I expire. Preservation 3 started off poorly, which means it will take twice as long as a normal preservation to get back on track. I'm not one to abandon a project just because things aren't going smoothly. I'm supposed to be close to finishing Preservation 3 but am far from it. For now, Preservation 4 is on hold until I can wrap up Preservation 3.

Preservations 4 and 5 are amazing! It took me quite a while to acquire those seeds from a breeder I befriended. Once he understood my intentions and plans, he generously opened up his genetic library to me. His kindness has been invaluable. He’ll be receiving seeds from every preservation I complete.

I'm unsure if the completely albino plant will root. I also have a cutting from another plant that's half variegated and half albino. I took a cut from this branch and kept both together to try and root. This is my first time dealing with such circumstances, so it's a self-learning experience. I'm not sure what to expect.

The EVL clones are thriving and maturing into strong, independent plants.

I have a non-variegated male that will be used to reproduce this line. Additionally, I have two more variegated plants that have not yet sexed and are too young to take clones. If one of them turns out to be male, it will be utilized on the clones going forward as a second Preservation 3 which will be documented as Preservation 3.5 before proceeding to Preservation 4.

Preservation 1, 2, and 4 which has yet to come are going to be flowered and smoked. Clones have successfully been taken from each of these.

This grow is going to take some time to complete. I have one variegated plant pollinated with it's green counterpart, alongside a green female and a bleeding Hawaiian Sativa. I've taken clones from the variegated plants and set them aside until the seeds are ready, so I can search for and find a variegated male counterpart.

Every clone is unique, even if they originate from the same plant. The Esta Vida Loca plant is half-variegated, producing a variety of variegations on one side. This results in each clone displaying different patterns of variegation—some more, some less, and some entirely variegated. Growing this plant provides answers to many questions, as nobody can offer better insights than the plant itself.

I'm really not a fan of the new update. I miss the old Enseedfinder. It made it so much easier to print and organize my seeds. I'm glad I printed everything out for my entire collection before the update.

Plants in training, the best ones will be kept in bonsai and the others will be flowered out during Presv# 3.5 to be bred with when an identical male is found.

I'm glad I printed out my entire seed collection before Enseedfinder made the change. This way, I can keep track of the history and lineage of every pack, ensuring that I or anyone else can easily reference it.

Got these directly from Mel before she left the scene. Thank You Mel!

Sometimes I stumble upon a thread and can't help but sit back and laugh. It’s hilarious to think that in 2024, all you need to do to be a breeder is take one male, pollinate a room full of Feminized females or Clones, and BOOM! You're now a breeder with an elite "Box Set" for sale. What's "Connoisseur" about that?
