I'm not sure what these buds are going to smell like when they cure but I hope the coffee smell comes out. I'm not sure if this is the real cut. My source says it is but I also see him throw names around to other people. I asked him many times and he keeps saying it is the Pre98 cut. I don't get any coffee smells. I haven't harvested yet (Day 68 Flower) but she seems to smell like spearmint / wintergreen with some candy / hash smell. Not sure what to think yet. Maybe you guys know what's up:

That looks pretty purple to be bubba. It also looks kind of leafy, my pre98 cut has a high calyx to leaf ratio, no coffee smells either but not speermint or winter green either, it kind of smell like old antique furniture. I've run shit loads of bubba, some even veg'd up to a year and it never really branches out too much even when topped many times it grows very tight with a central cola dominance.

Mine took a long time to branch out. It didn't look like it was going to and in flowering it did. The reason why she is so purple is because I lowered the temperature to 45F for the last couple weeks. She wasn't purple before that. I'm really have no idea what this smells like. First I thought it was cat piss. I'll see how it smells when she cures. I have another one in another room that isn't purple because the temps are in the 70's.
Glad to hear! I'm hoping it's her. I'll know when she cures up in a month.

The purple I've always gotten on Bubba comes on without low temps...and is almost more of a black type purple than a bright purple...also get darker where the light hits her. Leaves that stay covered tend to stay green.
Personally, I'm hoping to find a better-than-Bubba in the Bomb Threat x Bubba that Nspecta hooked me up with...

@snype looks like you got peyote purp or another bubba hybrid IMHO. Pre'98 can yield out if dialed and the overt "coffee" smell/taste fades to the bacground with longer flowering with a more floral hashish pallet. She will go purple on her own but not deep purple all over withoout low temps in my experience. I just took a couple down that had some nice purple. Still have a few oz's will try and take a pic and post soon
Thanks! The purple in the pictures are from the different types of light so it's not coming out accurate. I'll take more pics over time to make sure this isn't the real clone only Bubba. Thanks for your input!

Gottcha, I'm on a shitty phone so i can't see the color to well. Structure wise your plant looks like a dialed bubba hit just right and not locked out as we often see. A taste test is the only true way and even that can vary with bubba as she is truely one that can look and taste different depending on who is growing her got a veg pic?
Snype, I've never had the pre98 clone but yours looks a lot like the plants that came from VerdantGreen's pre98 s1s. I hit Verdant's pre98 s1 with a homespun (peyote purple x sour diesel) male and this is the result:
Have crossed the pre98 purp d back to the pre98 s1s but haven't grown those out yet. Currently have a friend who's growing out the pre98 purple diesel, and the best of those will be getting hit with a fantastic looking cherry bomb male. Loved hearing the quote above from CCfromTCC, sounds like maybe we're onto something special. Time will tell.

I think that's her brotha man. The structure is spot on as well as the leaf pattern. If it ain't her she is very closely related. I'd say keep it and run it until someone who can verify smokes her. Lots of legit bubba cutd in this thread but again she can take on a few looks. And as Keif pointed out there are 3 reconized cuts.
Thanks a lot TS! My source has been screaming forever that it's the real cut but I still wanted to see what you guys had to say. Remember that the purple in the pic looks much brighter in the pic compared to real life. The picture was taken with all these different settings that made the purple look brighter than it really was. Thanks again!
That doesnt really look like bubba to me, the branches look too thin and spindly to be bubba, looks like maybe some bubba/og hybrid.
When I top my bubba it doesn't shoot out laterally, the next node under where I topped will generally correct it's posture and start growing in single cola dominance again. My bubba has very thick branches that grow stiff and close to the main meristem.
The way your buds grow along the stem remind me of OG, the way they are spread out and grow almost in a zig zag pattern, bubba buds grow fuller and longer along the stem.
When I top my bubba it doesn't shoot out laterally, the next node under where I topped will generally correct it's posture and start growing in single cola dominance again. My bubba has very thick branches that grow stiff and close to the main meristem.
