Powdery Mildew Rx for flowering plants?

Well the high ph and baking soda treatment seems to have worked but it burned some of the leaves a little. I went ahead and ordered the Zone and Penetrator anyway to treat the rest of the plants with.

With only 6 plants in a closet do I have a use for a sulfur burner? I'd like to get one actually if I can run it in that closet.

Tried em all. Sulfer works best IMO.

+1.................I phucked around w/ all the sprays, baking soda, etc. & PM kept coming back. Hit 'em once really good w/ a sulfur burn and haven't had it since...........:tiphat:

Can a sulfur burner be used in a small closet?

I don't see why not. Just make sure you don't burn the sulfur as long, make sure the closet is sealed while burning the sulfur, and make sure you vent the sulfur odors outdoors when the burn is done.

Can you use a Exteme Vaporizor with the popurri bowl to burn sulfur and use it as a sulfer burner?

Not sure. I do know that if you do use it as a sulfur burner, I wouldn't recommend ever using it as a vaporizer again............:comfort:

Also, I forgot to mention. Before burning sulfur make sure you thoroughly foliar spray your plants w/ ph adjusted water. If you don't do this, you will burn your plants. Also, flush your plants after the sulfur burn to remove any excess sulfur from your medium.

Put the burner in the tent and close all intakes & exhaust. You want the vapors/smoke from the burning sulfur to stay in the tent. Once your burn is complete, turn your intake and exhaust fans on and make sure you exhaust the sulfur smoke/fumes outdoors.

I'm using soil- so I'd want to give it a thorough flush and flush everything out? That doesn't sound fun. Any way out of that?

Ya.......watch your plants die a slow death due to excess sulfur in your medium. The roots will take up anything that is introduced to them......good or bad. Flush your plants with 3x's the size of the container (i.e. 1 gallon containers flush with 3 gallons water.)

Gotchya. That does make it a slightly less attractive alternative. Sounds like it might be better for a soil-less mix. I'll make this a last resort now. I started by keeping the temp higher at night, going to treat with the Zone and Penetrator next and dehumidify. If all that don't do it I'll get the sulfur burner. Thanks again Bunz.

I need some help please!!!

I have Neem Oil, Azatrol, Dutch Master Zone & Penetrator...Which of these would you use 5 weeks into flower? I have serious PM on the small fan leaves that stick out of the bud...I can not let this harvest go down the drain and I am willing do whatever I need to and I don't want to let the end product taste bad either!! SO can I use the DM Zone and Penetrator and not worry about a bad taste? It seems like I need soak the bud really good in order to hit all the PM that is coming off the leaves that are so close to the bud...Please let me know what you recommend!! I am worried about soaking the buds and creating more Humidity and also the taste this late in flowering. Thank you!

Use the DM and don't worry about it.

SO I sprayed down all my plants completely...Let them dry a bit and put them back in the space...After a while I still noticed some PM spots hidden away...What should I expect in the next few days after the initial DM application? When should I reapply? I am going into my 5th week now...Thanks again!!!

I reapply every 5 to 6 days. That's just the nature of the beast bro. No app will do it in one shot, unless you change something in your grow room (i.e. circulation/temp). That's another 4 apps before harvest. It'll keep it down real well. You'll notice a huge difference after the next app. Just don't miss one and you will be fine. It won't 'wash' the pm spots away and that's why you are still seeing spots. After about a week and a half the pm spots will cause dead spots on the leaves where the infection was(that's natural, can't help that no matter what) but no new pm. Just keep a good eye on the little sugar leaf up next to the buds. Pm will try to hide out there...

I also treated with DM and mine are looking great. Sprayed them instead of dunking but did it thoroughly, sprayed with water once daily since. Cleaned out the grow room and wiped down with bleach water. Gonna treat again in a few days but honestly everything looks good now. :thank you:

If you have a small out break during flowering, and the problem plants are accessable, I just get "Safer Brand Garden Fungicide" pump spray ($11.00 Home Depot). I shake it up and pour some into a cap or something, I dip a Q-Tip in and go to town. I just lightly rub it on the patches thoroughly. I shake up the container and do a very "light" misting of the out break areas and usually there's little return.

I don't know if all PM is the same, but what I have never affects the BUD, so this works enough for me.

I always allow a lot of fresh air exchange and wipe my walls and all surface areas with bleach solution between each Harvest.

If the outbreak is small, this should be enough to get you through. I have always worried about Sulphur making my bud taste like burning match Sulpur!

There has never been A Problem.

If you have a serious out break and plants aren't accessable this obviously can't help.

I notice that certain strains are more resistant than others. I run a couple of Bubba Kush strains that all seem pretty susceptable to PM. But my Bannana OG is almost never affected.

Hope this can help with small outbreaks.

peace.
