Torturing the daylights outta them :)

Massive nutes, no nutes, experimenting with air pump failure, ya know, basically everything that can go wrong, so I know what it looks like and how to fix it :)

My goal is to kill off all of them, but I've got this one stubborn one hanging on, looking great, except for two tiny burned tips. I may have to keep it around for breeding purposes. It's freaking invinco-bud :D

Excellent! My 8" 747CFM Fan has arrived!

Couple that with the new power supply in the home comp, and we've got updates coming tonight when I get home :)

I've got some work to do :D

ok, I just made it home, fan isn't even out of the box yet, so I'm not sure i'll be able to squeeze in updates before I have to crash tonight.

I will most certainly try though :)

ok, I wussed out last night and just crashed.

But tonight, I'm posting this as I take a smoke break from assembling the cooltube for the light. Ran it without one just for fun - That went as we figured it would:

After an hour, it was 98F ambient, and 120F 2 feet from the light :D

And believe it or not, that one little survivor seedling is still gasping along. No nothing done to for it for a week, and it was in there for the lighting test - Can you believe there's any green left on it?!

I'll try to get a pic once I have the light and fan in place. Then I'm planning on letting it run a full 12/12 cycle, see how we're looking on temps.

As far as venting, a few more options came up, and I'm honestly not sure which I'm going to choose. But suffice it to say, all options for outlet are back in play - attic, crawlspace, and sewer.

I'll update in a bit.

Okay, it's ALIVE!!

Fan, light and cooltube are in!

Went ahead and vented into the sewer line. You'll see where I took a picture of the connection to the sewer line where the toilet used to be.
Connected to it via 2 elbows and a 6x4 reducer. It takes up space, but I've planned for that too.

I'll be using crates to create a raised floor that will allow me to add another bucket, and reclaim some of the space used by venting into the sewer. This actually made the most sense, since I was going to have to raise the buckets to gravity drain back to the res.

All in all, I lost about a foot of Vertical growth space, but gained room for an extra bucket, plus the security of venting into the sewer.

Lights on for a temp test now, let's see how it goes

Here's some pics -

Well, I just peeked in at the thermometer -

84 degrees @ 2 ft, 77 ambient.

:D

At this time last test, we were at the 97 and 120 mark.

Needless to say, I'm thrilled. Cramming 1000w HPS in that tiny space with only a 3 degree rise in ambient temps?! Paint me giddy :)

Quick update as we head into the weekend -

My next step is to install a false floor for my buckets. I'm thinking I'll use milk crates, or I might go with PVC pipes and fourway connectors to build a nice stable 'table'.

Then I'll turn my attention to fluros and the mother/clone area.

Still haven't decided what to do with that shower area... Using it as a second flowering area is out as I exchanged the 250w light for the fan. I guess it will end up as the drying area, by default.

I hope your cleanup of the bathroom was ruthless, lots of mold to be found in the crapper room, good luck with the grow man.

Quite ruthless :) I used enough chemicals that I probably violated the Geneva Convention.

2 bottles of Zap Mold and Mildew, a half gallon of bleach, followed by nice spray application of H2O2.

Didn't do the wallpaper any good, but meh, I ain't growing wallpaper ;)

Just discovered a potential problem today with my ventilation while I was working on another part of the house. So it looks like I'm going to have to undo what I've done so far, and relocate the fan and outlet. Best option right now appears to be the attic.

Dammit!

Lookin good Nite Tiger  , whats wrong with the attic for exhaust? I wish i had an attic, i had to go strait out the roof through a turbine vent. Attics are great you can put an odor control of your choice in there and your good to go. Got some nice beans to break er in too, sure was a nice thing them fellas did for ya, thats awesome man, good vibes there bro. :woohoo:

lookin forward to your next update :woohoo:

Yeah, it was seriously cool to step up like that. I'm still shocked at the kindness displayed.

The reason I wasn't wanting to go into the attic was because I'd have to make more serious alterations to the bathroom than I wanted to, and there's concern about creating a petri dish for mold by pumping all that warm moist air into a dark place :)

Plus, from a security standpoint, I liked venting into the sewer better. But, now it's a moot point. I'm actually in the process of moving the fan into the attic as we speak. The light/fan assembly that was in there has been removed, and the fan is already in the attic.

Yeah, I decided to go ahead and knock it out tonight, I want this finished.

As a friend of mine is fond of saying 'Sleep?! you can sleep when you're dead!' :D

I'll post some pics of the reworked room soon.

Okay, fan and ventilation has been relocated.

Buckets went in for a test fit before plumbing them in.

As you can see, the original design fits perfectly, and it's starting to look like a growroom!

now of course, I'm debating with myself.

1) Go with a smaller rez that I can move to the bottom of the linen closet area, and give myself room for four more plants

2) I can squeeze two more buckets in just as it is now, but I'll cost myself some wiggle room between the plants.

3) stick to the plan.

Hmmmm, gotta sleep on it...

Glad to hear you like it Orange!

I haven't decided how to best utilize my shower area yet (to the right of the buckets in the picture). Right now it looks like it'll be a drying area come harvest, and just unused during the rest of the grow.
