Yea,it means no more 100 millions of dollars in law enforcement.

More money for communities.

There is a movie called "High Profits" on netflix. It shows the struggle working in the store between a couple and getting kicked out at a town that thinks highly of themselves.Even the Place where they sold legal pot, everyone got jealous and the city council is full of themselves.Rent went from $1500 a month to $6500 a month because it brought in 80% of all the other pot stores could bring in.

considering that lots of growers think that there should be NO regulations & NO taxes, there will NEVER be a bill that EVERYONE is happy with. joe voter does not care if adults grow/consume weed. BUT, he also does not want minors to have access to it, and if you are selling it, he thinks you should be licensed & pay taxes. it IS an intoxicant, albeit the most benign one on the planet...:)

Absolutely agree it should be regulated(by default..decrim is far less possible than Trump becoming president-elect) AND taxed..
I also agree there will never be a bill that will make everyone happy
Unless it's a true decrim bill...ha

I'm kind of excited...don't know if it's the caffeine or what...
But I am a stubborn man...
And experienced...
And I believe underground herb will be prevalent here....for years...until we "fix" what gets passed...this is Cali...and if you ain't here..you may not understand the breadth of Cali canna...or the people who have had more action on their front than anywhere else in the canna war...I foresee underground being the "thing"..not a flavor nor a fad...but the rule...Corp and warehouse weed may generate more dollars...but they will have a much harder time here stamping out "illegal" grows than other places...and the support for that will grow each year til shit changes for the better...especially when people start going back to jail...and there will be plenty of that..funded by "legal" growers..that will make us stronger...FTW...

If I was a Californian cash cropper I would grow haze hybrids and other long flowering strains that the mass producers won't touch...I'd sell the herb, seeds, clones and hashish. I'd also suggest not selling pounds to a wholesaler or dispensary but instead sell Farm direct to retail buyers at an ounce minimum at a time. Biz will start off slow, but with word of mouth, quality grown bud that inspires rather than dulls will eventually sell like hot cakes....when every one has tons of the latest multi-poly hybrid bud that has a strong short duration high that every smoker is bored and or dissatisfied with, a pound of well grown haze with a 4 hour technicolor high that fills your head with ideas and makes you laugh will be worth 5 times more.

The way I see it, hybrids derived from equatorial landrace strains as well as Haze hybrids are the future for small time cash croppers, so instead of still hoping for the good ole times of $3000 per pound to come back, now is the time to innovate or be left behind trying to sell pounds of what everyone else is trying to sell. It's not inconceivable that prices could get down to $600 or $800 per pound in 18 months when tractors take over from shovels.

There's other things are Cali cash croppers could do now also.....for example, clones sold in flowering size pots (not in tiny pots) will sell like hot cakes now, that's what I would be concentrating on now, better still, you could also sell a package with the clone in the flowering container, flowering ferts, instructions and also an ounce of the same bud will find a niche in the market now.

It looks like Texas still hasn't legalized cannabis yet. :( So I want to move out of Tex-(ass) and move to a legal state.

Allot of really intelligent folks posting in here. But If you are one of the few who honestly believe the price of pot won't plummet after legalization, then I fear that you are in for a rude awakening.

Theirs too much red tape for Texas to be passing any kind of weed legalization law we won't know until June of next year what will happen. They want state law enforcement to guard the cbd product at all stages of production to sale so that means 1million dollars a year just to run a few high cbd plants so that shows we won't get a thing with thc in it that's for sure. My local rep will vote yes I don't know if the other will but they don't even....meh never mind I won't go into to that who gives a shit.

I am glad another state is legal for recreation. I know it is not a perfect law, but we are making headway whether you want to believe it or not.

Gypsy has said he wanted to over-grow the planet and it is happening. Just don't expect it to be like a light switch. It is such hot item politically that everyone on both sides has to be so careful when drawing up legislation.

I really do think it is good for the whole country, hell the whole planet. I am sorry if it will cut into someone's livelihood. You cannot make an omelette without breaking egg and no action will please everyone no matter what it is. Paz y saludos California.

You have to take into account, that although we are seeing the majority of people coming out in favour of MJ/Cannabis legalization, some of these votes are coming in very close, as in Maine where they even had to have a recount.

That means that there are still many people voting against legalization, and hopefully in time we will see some of these voters changing their minds, so long as they don't perceive any adverse or negative affects MJ/Cannabis legalization is having on their environment.
