The Tibetan Mastiff seems like a cool breed. They live 12-15 years which is incredible for such a large dog. The Newfoundland is about the same size and their life span is about 8-10 years.

Well I'm glad it came off as intended, to be funny and nothing else. Sometimes things can get misconstrued online.

Owner of 3 shelties over here, got the first from a breeder and the next two were rescues. Great dogs.

They're called bodegueros, cos they were bred by people in andalusian wine cellars, but not an official race yet. I adopted the male first, then a friend of mine brought the female. Male is 1yo and female's just 6months, and already got a long list of people waiting for the offspring. As for coordination...

This is Norvin, a mutt from the pound. He most closely resembles a swiss mountain dog but most qre more familiar with bernise mountain dogs (similar colors but long hair.) He's smaller than either of those, about 75lbs.

Despite his size and years (11-12) the most usual comment is "what a beautiful puppy." His paws are way oversized & his face always says "can it be happy play time RIGHT NOW?" His name comes from 1950's British youth motorcycle culture. Guys would take Norton frames, the best handling at the time, & put better motors in them, the most common being a triumph motor. They'd call that combo (triumph+Norton) a "Triton." The holy grail of motors, way outside the means of most youth, was a v-twin Vincent. That, a Norton+ Vincent, they'd called a "Norvin." Norton colors were traditionally silver and black, Vincent gold and black. His colors fit the name perfectly, thus a mutt with a noble "mutt" motorcycle name.

One of the smartest dogs I've ever seen was a Mexican feral dog that adopted my parents when they were on vacation at some resort in Mexico.

The lifeguards would chase away the dogs so 'Perrito' dug a hole under the chair where my parents usually went, and hid himself.

My parents ended up adopting him.

That's awesome. Was there a lot of red tape getting him back to the states?

I haven't got a dog at the moment, but I was breeding them a few years back in the Philippines, on a fairly remote island, and I miss them dearly, although they are all gone now, it was alot of fun.

So in memory of the good times, here they are:
