making the pics ...might as well show em.

DCxPAN f1; final two competitors in the race #4 & #9 @fd64; one about to come down soon.

#4 is a 11-12 weeker, it being week 10 now. resin quality is very oily, smell is all over the place, very complex, but with noticeable Panama traits, like the sweet bubblegum + shit.

This is about the expression, I was hoping for when using the Panama on the Deep Chunk.
Adding yield to the Deep Chunk, with then a broad choice between narcotic and energizing phenos. I smoked some lowers of this one today and the high was very Panama.
Keep in mind, that all these are fully seeded, with seeds being past done, so I had to cut out a bunch of lowers that were already drying out.
Don't have clones of this specific one, so I'm just gonna ride it out for the smoke test!

The structure is still very short & compact, much more open than CGB Panama x Deep Chunk though, which has more of the broad leaf going on. This one should be around 3ft, pot is 1gal.

I'm going to show #9 at harvest in a few days

Hotdog smelling Male. Later sexing, clusters look good so far, one of the meaty/funky phenotypes leaves are a bit more indica in appearance, double serrated like some GT phenos.

Bugs loved it, gave it a munch. Subtle scents are- black pepper, garlic, dark meat, maybe coriander? And an alcoholic beer smell, almost like beer simmered hotdogs.

Smells are developing on this polyhybrid, the Thai phenotypes are pretty obvious. A week or two before the very first transplants are necessary, almost already rootbound on some of them. There's around 85-90 in here, I'm hoping for 20-30 elite plants to keep after this harvest.

Everything is off to a decent start, crossing my fingers that fall will be temperate and not too cold and wet as it can be sometimes.

Ethiopian 6, clone from indoors last year. Some serious LST here. I started Light Dep on the 28th. I'll have to keep doing it until the 21st I think. I should have started earlier but was too lazy to do it for more than 2-3 weeks. I'll have to bring it indoors anyway. I expect this to be ready by late November, at 45N there's no way I can keep this one outside, I'll have to bring it inside in late october, or maybe earlier depending on the temperature. Thankfully this one doesn't smell too much. The aroma is light, a little pine, a little clove and carrot.

I have the clone and 2 fem seeds in the same pot, they are pretty consistent. This will be done by October 3-5 , I might leave some plants out until the 12. The last time I harvested late it just became a 100% blissed-out but short high with a sleepy finish. I can still see the appeal but I missed the lively buzzy high of the earlier harvest. Aromas are clean and sweet with a lingering fruitiness followed by a woody incense finish.. She'll get musky, funky and loud soon but never skunky. 3-4 fingered leaves are pretty common.

Now for the cross between these two.

NCH#3 x ETH 8

nch3xeth8A.jpg

I have two females selected from seed that are very similar in look. One has slightly longer axillary branches ( not pictured ). The internodal distance is pretty short but the stretch probably hasn't finished yet, they are sharing the same pot so root restriction might be reducing the stretch. I'm digging the look of those branches, it looks like they will stack calyxes more like the ETH than their mom. It's a little early to judge resin coverage but I'm hopeful.

nchx3ethbush.jpg

These seem at least 2 weeks slower than the NCH#3 mom. I think these can be compared to the Panama I grew last year, it was done by the 22nd I believe. This could be done by the 3rd weekend of October. I'm crossing my fingers we have a nice month of October.

I can't really tell the aromas yet. They don't have the veg aroma of the NCH#3 but I can't imagine that they won't develop a pungent odor in flowering.

NCH3 x ETH8

6 days apart from the earlier picture. We just had a 4 day heatwave, which is very atypical for September, we get days here and there but the last week was brutal. The plants seem to like it.

They really stretched their legs. No aroma yet. There's another plant that I chopped pretty aggressively because I thought it was a male that has some vegetative smell with slightly wider leaflets but with a similar flowering structure, it wasn't as mature as this plant so it was a little slower to flower.

The light dep ethiopian seems to be throwing a few pistils. 2 more weeks of putting the tarp over it left.

The Nep Jam x (violeta x sandstorm)

This one is starting to foxtail. (It's been 35*C in the closet this week so she may be a bit hot)

DSCF0506.JPG

And this one is happy enough, some signs that she may also start foxtailing

DSCF0504.JPG

They seem well fed enough still, I've dropped them down to 1ml/L of A+B and the lights are 10 hours on 14 off as of today so I may top the wilma up with plain water and let them sail to the finish line in a week maybe two.

{Pakistani Chitral Kush x Durban} x {Mazar I Sharif}

I made this cross a few years ago. I grew it once indoors once and finally got around to growing it again but this time outside.

An F3 PCK x Durban male was the pollen donor to a female RSC Mazar I Sharif. One is very colorful due to the PCK lineage while one is green. They're just small plants but I wanted to see how it did outdoors. It seems to be finishing pretty good here and looks like a keeper for outdoor grows here at 45° latitude in the PNW. Both were pollinated by another hybrid I made which is also finishing really well outdoors.

I always tell people that there is no secret to purple weed. Just cross anything with PCK and you're going to get colors most of the time.

I like the sound and looks of those. Finished a destroyer run and made some F2s as well as crosses with Thai x Panama and BH7. Really enjoying the smoke and wish I had the pollen when I ran the OT1 x Panama and the Malawi. I’ve got some more of the pollen in the freezer and I think it’s time to pop some of the OT1 and other haze/Colombian types I have as well. Lots of good synergies with the Ace and CBG gear.

I now have a "Sweet Orange Marmalade" phenotype female, matches the male's growth/vigor and is very sticky too.
Golden Tiger dominant pheno -Thai Pheno.

IMG_20230914_054958.jpg

Black Currant Wine/Pinot Noir pheno. Noticeable earthy coffee and chocolate smells on stem rub, funky/berry smell from afar.

IMG_20230914_055117.jpg

Fresh ripe mango phenotype, Malawi dominant, needs a transplant tomorrow, very nice smelling and sticky stem rub, slower to produce trichomes but packing terps and resins judging based on stem rub.

IMG_20230914_055047.jpg

Bourguignon phenotype, Thai dom, meaty smells from afar.

Herbal/thyme/carrot/celery/red wine/black pepper terps from stem rub. I have a very resinous male with similar Thai traits that I want to make f2's with.

Finally harvested the Purple Destroyer x OTH 2 nights ago after seeing it start throwing nanners, along with some amber present telling me please harvest. Old school.dank smells, can't pinpoint anything specific right now. Hopefully i have at least a couple dozen F2 seeds in the buds.

I think it has been a couple.weeks since i last posted it, so i belive that makes it 13 weeks to finish. Her tall sister maybe has another 3 weeks left.

Yield is decent, this one could use a little more veg time than im used to giving.

And this is my next project, Double Chocolate Thai x Old Timers Haze male to create a Chocolate Haze
20230912_152623.jpg

This is the OTH male, took a couple cuttings last night and put it in flower. The DCT female will go in flower soon, i went ahead with flowering the male to pollinate some Rainbow Dragons Fire from Snowhigh, the "male" i kept end up not being male after all, and i always intended to add OTH into the super sativa mix

20230912_152620.jpg

Rainbow Dragons Fire
I believe OTH will be a very good addition to the 6 or 7 females i got, especially the tall very lanky very thai looking one i have going, no pics of it yet. A couple of the RDF are quite short as of now in comparison.
Screenshot_20230914_084245_Yahoo Mail.jpg

I also put these two female Ace Thai (lemon) x Double Chocolate Thai into flower last night. They will get some of the OTH pollen as well.
