IPV2 mini 70W, Sony VTC4's, IGO-W, stainless wick, on the way! I have been on the hunt for a good portable set up for years, I already own Cera, Persei, etc.,yada, yada, can't wait to build my own coils!

Sigelei 150w box mod, patriot 2.5ml RDA, single .3 ohm coil made from three 24g kanthal wires.

Haven't touched the bong all week. When I was first experimenting with it I got higher than I've been in at least 6+ years lol.

I should also mention I'm not using any wick, instead I just used two wires twisted together with a third wrapped around that to increase surface area and create small crevices for the oil to capillary into.

All the different wicking material created nasty flavors, this coil self cleans between dabs and give the smoothest cleanest tasting dabs I have ever experienced. The lung expansion and intense terpene action can burn in the lung and sinuses slightly but its different than a harsh hit, its just super intense, but it is extremely pleasant once you get used to it.

I'm interested in your coil build for sure. I am gonna build my first mechanical mod soon and was wondering about flavor impact from the mesh/wick/whatnot. I don't see why these couldn't be even better than a nail. I feel like I can taste the ti unless temp is absolutely perfect even with quality he nails.

How do the selectable battery and case thing work? Does changing settings on that have any effect on the flavor of the dab?

Open to any suggestions, med state, have vape shops, but real backwoods bullshit. Could go 10 miles to the next town for a better shop but ebay looks cheaper anyway.

Just started testing out the new Stillare Cartel v3 RDA (3 Coil and a nice well) with the FC-2000 porous ceramic wicks. Liking it so far, but I will give an update in a week or two compared to my previous builds.

If you have VV/VW mod with enough power there isn't much difference in what you can do with it vs a mech mod for this application as they can handle down to .3 ohm coils usually.

The main benefits are the battery display, adjustable voltage for different consistency material without changing your coils, and some of them allow for charging without an external charger.

Some of my friends don't really care for the mech mods and have been using the iStick 50W (and 30W) by Eleaf with pretty good success and they like the fact they can charge over USB without a separate charger.

can you recommend a blog or youtube channel that I could check out to get brought up to speed on these concentrate vape builds? I am pretty sure ill start to figure it out just buying pieces off these lists and assembling them, but wouldn't mind researching first.

I was looking at the I stick 50w from eleaf, looks interesting but what atomizer are they using for concentrates? Can you just add an rda to the I stick? I gotta lot to learn.

You basically just need a powerful battery / mod and an atomizer.

If you get something that takes an 18650 battery like a mech mod or sigelei you will need good batteries (sony vtc or real efest) and a good charger as well.

If you go with the rechargable VV / VW mod like the istick, all you need is an atomizer.

Most are using an RDA, I think the 50W can handle down to .2 ohms and most coils we make around .35 at the lowest. One person I know with an istick30w is using a Cannon v1.2 and another is using the Vhit Vast.

Ive been using a Source Orb for around 2 weeks now, I have a terra atomizer and a couple dual coil wickless atomizers. I'd recommend it for folks interesting in such a tool. Been using a ego twist and v-spinner.

The Source Orb looks the same as the Cannon v1.2, probably clones of each other, my friend that uses it seems to like it pretty well.

He didn't want to deal with an RDA or building coils is why he went that route but he certainly isn't getting the same size hits that the RDA does. I won't knock it as its better than most of the cheap attys out there, but it certainly isnt a "portable dab" in my opinion.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself a proper battery over that v-spinner or twist. You can pick up a Curve 30w which is a copy of the istick30w for like 40 bucks.

I dove into the world of batteries and attachments over a year ago. Started with an ego battery and a glass globe atomizer. Then moved onto seego attachments, and vision spinner batteries. They work great, but didn't deliver the hit I was looking for.

So I bought a tesla (15w) battery. Thing was a huge P.O.S.!!! Moved on to a vamo(15w) and that one works a lot better. Got myself a couple rda clones and a coil rebuild kit and went to town. Just recently got good at making coils. Huge death strokes, and only a 15 watt battery.

Now the next step is getting a really nice box mod. Saw some 300 watter's on ebay, and of course have seen the siegel (spelling?). Also wanna get a couple nice rda clones that can have more than one coil.

It is a little tedious and overwhelming at first. But with a little internet research, and a few coil build tutorials, it becomes fun.

Think i am just going to grab the istick for now. Gotta get soil in a bit so when I go to town ill grab it. I started looking around at all the vape stuff I have and I have a couple of nautilis mini tanks that will I believe fit on that battery.

Im stoked on the idea of being able to get huge hits of VG juice. It never hit right with the small batteries but maybe it will with this new one.

OUCH!

I just got shocked the hell out on this sucker!

nem mod clone
patriot rda
efest 3.7v bat
running 8 wraps of 24 kantal over 400m mesh on both terminals

The screen is touching the edge of the inside is that causing it to arc....

The button got me on the last test....ouch....have multimeter here but not sure how to test it out....

After reading this thread a few weeks back I decided to try putting one together.

Beast Plus Mechanical Mod w/ Voltage Display W/ 2 18650's

And a Patriot Clone RDA for it

Both of the above items just arrived now I have to get some batteries and a charger, some Kanthal wire and try building my first coil. Excited for portable mega sized rips

I just got a copper 4nine with a stillare rda by Infinite, I am digging it so far.
Love the magnetic button, lack of adjustments, small size, and no locking mechanism.

Thinking of putting together my first mod. Is this the setup you would still recommend?

You guys should try some verticle clapton coils in your rda's, wickless that is.

I went with a horizontal clapton (28/26) real close to the deck, the idea was that extra concentrate would flow down and get wicked back up into the coil. It kinda works that way, but as you can see from the pics the concentrate also splatters too far away to get wicked back down, so there is a bit of waste.

I'm thinking a much smaller RDA, something like the Buds Workx ERA, the UD Igo-s, or something along those lines would work a lot better due to the much smaller chamber, it should use up more and waste less of the concentrate.

It does work well, I can get huge rips off this thing that put my ti nail and oil rig to shame. I'm running at 35w right now on an IPV Mini 70w, but I pulse the firing button a bit so it isn't constant power, after getting a feel for the heat coming from the tip you can maintain a pretty consistent temperature, I'm tasting terpenes that I didn't even know were there! I usually try to use my nail as cool as possible and often use a carb cap, but the flavor is way better than a ti setup, IMHO.

High from the ecig setup seems to be stronger but shorter, possibly cleaner too, hard to say. Still pretty high.

I am now using a Stillare v3 (triple coil) and went with a regulated mod which takes an 18650 battery still. The mod is an Ehpro SPD A5. With 3 coils, it comes out to about .22 ohms

I run it at about 40 watts. I started liking the regulated mods better because you can really control the heat output and not cross the line into bad flavor if you don't pulse the button good enough on a mechanical.

just scrape it up, after you collect a bit, and put it back on the coil.

reclaim hits hard

Everything still gets used eventually, I'd just prefer a setup where what you put on the coil gets as close to 100% used up on the first go as possible.

I've got one of those atmos pens, it has no power at all and the hits are useless for me so I'm thinking I could tear the ceramic cup out of there and mount a coil inside it, then mount that whole thing inside the rda with the airflow pointed at the cup. I'd think that would help to keep all the concentrate in one area but I'm not sure if it will fit under the hood of my RDA.

Anyone played around with temperature control mods with concentrate before? For those that aren't into the vaping scene temp control uses either nickle or titanium wire, I'm thinking titanium would be perfect for us, and it limits the temp to whatever setting you have. I'm thinking this would be the next step in highly controlled on-the-go dabs but I have yet to see anyone using temp control for concentrates yet.

Within the next few weeks I'm going to be getting a few temp limited devices in to play around with so I'll report back, hopefully it will work well. With temp control you can set a high power, but low temp, so that the heat-up time is near instant so that you can quickly vape all your concentrate, but not overheat it. That's the theory at least ;)

What works best in these mods? Shatter? Crumble?
