How long do you generally wait after adding the alcohol to the dabs before you think the bottle is ready to go? I've seen shatter take a while to dissolve in Everclear, so I'm guessing 24h at least…
I've made a few BHO tinctures, but not from shatter. I dissolve the oil in ethanol while it's still runny, then let it evaporate until it's mostly dry but not shatter. I redissolve that in ethanol to make the tincture. It's the same when I do the first extraction with 99% isopropanol. It takes some stirring and sometimes a little warming to get thick oil to redissolve.

I made a batch of ultra-high density tincture and it worked great, really nice to carry around a well over a thousand mg in a little 5ml dropper bottle. I had the better parts of 3 different grams of quality retail grade hash oil with lab results averaging about 70%THC and I put them in a little 20ml clear bottle & decarbed them the way I like (until the bubbling rate is past peak, but not too much past) and after they cooled I put 2.25 of Everclear on it and waited a few hours and it was thin enough for my dropper to uptake the whole amount in 20 droperfuls, so about 0.1g of (not fully) decarbed oil per dropper. I'd have pictures, but I was away for a couple days and my camera battery ran out and I ate it all already. It was very convenient for traveling with, kept the 5ml dropper bottle in my back pocket the whole time, its a about half the size of my lighter. However I tried dosing it in water one time, the way I do with weaker tinctures, and this made it clear to me that the alcohol has no absorbed all of the oil.

You get a uniform fluid with evenly distributed precipitate, very convenient for drinking.
I tried it with the dense stuff and most of the oil separated from the water/alcohol mix and floated and ended up mostly sticking to the side of the glass. I'm not complaining or blaming you (sometimes these things come across the wrong way in the world of text communication), I just consider it an interesting sort of experimental result to pass along. I cleaned the glass pretty easily with a few ml of everclear and recovered (and immediately ate) every last little drop when I got home from the beach last night

I should have mentioned that. The oil dissolved in 190 proof ethanol comes out of solution when you add it to water, once it's past a certain concentration. I take my high density tinctures directly. 190 proof + enough hash oil, and it's 50% alcohol or less. The alcohol burn fades immediately, leaving your mouth coated with delicious hash. 
Lower density / high proof tinctures hurt to drink straight, so they should be added to a a drink.
Certain synthetic cannabinoids are like this too. JWH-018 dissolves in 190 proof ethanol pretty easily at 2 mg/ml. If you add that to water, it comes out of solution and turns cloudy instantly.

I looked into that effect somewhat, when you have an undersaturated tincture you can get a good idea about the qualities of the tincture based on the color and opacity of the precipitate. Its not all that interesting, but what is interesting is that I just put a dropper full (about 0.25ml or 50mg THC) of high power stuff on a sugar cube and it worked great. Tastes good too, so now I got a cool new party trick I can't wait to show off. Should have taken a picture.
I bet that would taste great. I haven't tried a sugar cube. I've put it in capsules before if I didn't like the taste of that batch.
A 00 capsule can hold 1 ml easily. A 000 capsule can hold more. Add it to a capsule, close, and swallow with a drink. It lasts long enough to take it before it dissolves.

Here is an update:
Sugar cube is a nice delivery medium, both flavor & effect wise. This is 0.5ml (about 150mg THC) on a cube. Works great this way or on any other absorbent food item. I also found that if you drop the stuff on a gummy candy gently enough that it will absorb in.
I couldn't find any dancing bear shaped gunny candy so I took the tincture bottle with me to the Dead show yesterday & fed sugar cubes to the Merry Pranksters and anyone else interested (this is going to look great on my resume). I was surprised at how many people ate the cube without knowing what was on it, hope they weren't too disappointed.
