Poppin' My Own Cherry(ick) Auto AK47 Grow

They are looking decent man for a first time. I have grown a couple diff autoflower strains out so if you need any help let me know. Also there is a whole autoflower forum here now on ICmag. I have ran more masterlow then anything though. Always glad to see another grower jump on board.

Thanks Chubby, I'm sure I'll need help along the way. So far it's been a fairly uneventful grow...I chalk it up to the info I've gotten on this site and a fairly automated grow environment. Please feel free to criticize when necessary, I have thick skin

Day 33 Update

Day 33 Update

Got in the cab this morning to check and see how all the girls are taking to their new containers and JEES!! These gals are growing like crazy. I've moved my probe up an inch to an inch and a half every day (I keep it even with the tallest plant) for the last two days. The back plant is recovering nicely from what I figured was lack of nutes and/or lights too close.

Looks like there are mucho bud sites...most of them up close to the main stalks. Back plant is about 10" tall and front two are about 8".

I need to hear from someone who has had successful seed runs to tell me when I should pollenate. I've heard 3 weeks into flowering on normal plants but at what point should I pollenate the autos since their cycle is so short? Any information is appreciated.

Thanks pimp,

It is a basement cab. However, I'm starting to see the downside already. Humidity levels are too high for flowering, even with exhaust fan running constantly, I'm hovering between 55 and 60 RH.

Gonna pick up a heavy duty dehumidifier and see if that gets me down to about 35 - 40. I could live with that.

Day 39 Update

Woohoo, I do believe there are a few crystals forming...LOL

Plants seem to be thriving...bushing out now with bud sites all over, actually this is the first time I've needed to move them apart for better light penetration.

Fed them 1/2 strength nutes yesterday with no ill effects I can see. Next watering will be without nutes then I'll bump it up to 3/4 strength. They could probably take full strength but I'm playing it safe this grow.

I'm going to pollenate my best girl tomorrow and get her into my master closet for a couple of days. Gonna get some more use out of my T5 bloom bulbs.

I should be about 30 days out from harvest...give or take.

Those aint cute babies....they're crusty, weathered, street walking bitches...and they're gonna slap me around and make me call them momma when I smoke them.

That seems out of place now that the guy I was responding too had his posts removed.

Day 48 Update

Well it's been a bit of a bad week for the ladies. I must have gone too long between nute feedings as they all seem to be showing some deficiencies. Gave them a 3/4 strength feeding late yesterday and they appear to be springing back with a vengeance. I guess they were never really doing too badly, they just got some ugly leaves. Buds are fattening up and plants are still branching out.

Pollination seems to be successful as the pistils on the selected sites have darkened and seem to be dying. If the nutrient deficiencies don't continue to improve, I'll post some close-ups here and in the plant problems forum and see if we can't get these bitches sorted out.

Day 55 Update

Day 55 Update

Greetings all,

Girls seem to being rolling along nicely. Decided to return the humidifier, running the exhaust fan 24/7 now and have the oscillating fan turned up, hopefully that will keep the air moving enough that I don't get the moldy crud with my 47% to 65% humidity.

Got rid of some of the dead and dying fan leaves, only took the ones that were way gone or crispy. They got a full strength feeding right after the photos were taken. I'm right about 2 weeks out from the scheduled harvest date, however I plan on going until I have some amber trics for a nice couch-lock high. I'll be picking up a loupe or one of those Radio Shack microscopes this week.

Comments and/or constructive criticism welcome.

Lookin' good. Those plants look perfect for a SOG: short, compact, and a single main cola. keep up the good work.

Thanks merr, I'm really happy with the progress so far. Went down today and the buds are swelling like crazy, they seem REALLY dense and the main colas are getting fat. Going out to get my Radio Shack microscope this week, couple of buddies of mine want a serious couch-lock high...so I guess I'm shooting for some amber trics.

looking good Muy, I am growing some auto ak47 and I wish they looked as well as your do, I dont beleive I gave them enough nutes throughout grow, so dont worry too much about over doing it, they like a good supply.

Make sure and keep us updated as these finish! Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by maryjane. I'm going to do an update with photos on Sunday. Not much changing with them right now, buds are fattening up and I'm about to flush and finish with just PH'd water.

Day 66 Update

Well, I figured I was overdue for an update. I guess we are about 4 days from the breeders stated harvest timeframe of 70 days. Buds are swelling, trics are everywhere, very frosty all over. I'm surprised by how much bud is growing along the entire main stem.

Outer bud sites are starting to put on some weight and are covered in trics as well, I wasn't completely expecting that. I figured only the main cola would be frosty.

Quite a few of the lower fan leaves have shriveled and died off. Most of the upper fan leaves are very yellow and seem to be getting consumed or dying...I don't really know which. Is this normal for the strain or just part of the flushing process. I used Clearex and PH'd water yesterday for the flush, used enough water for each to get about 80% runoff. They got wet indeed. Water from here on out.

I'll be able to check my trics tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait to see how close I actually am to harvest. As always let me know what you think and any suggestions about finishing up are welcome.

It started being noticeable around day 54. The pictures on the day 55 update were right after I had removed quite a few dead and shriveled fan leaves.

I guess I would say that is about the time that I started seeing it too, maybe a little earlier. I thought it had to do with the lucas formula and not feeding every watering in my hempys which is what I do now with the three part, I guess now that I have the three part it isnt hurting me at all to use it and things are looking good, so we will see next time I get the AK to the table which should be here in the next couple weeks

Day 69 Update

Figured I'd take a few pictures while I was cleaning up the nasty, dead leaves. Checked trics again, definitely getting closer. I'm thinking sometime in the middle of next week. My basement is getting stinky, kinda put off by that as I'm using a fairly kick ass carbon filter. Is it really possible this thing needs it's carbon replaced already? :jawdrop:
