the reflectors got in the way as they were so I zip tied them together to make a sort of a hood going along both sides of the bar of outlets,
to which are now attached Y splitters so it's bilaterally symmetrical,
4 bulbs on each side covered by matte white painted pop can.
there is a metal tin thing full of water under the fan there to raise humidity a bit,
also but not shown here I have been putting frozen bottles of water in.
the white stringy mess is something i am going to start a small scrog in,
sprouted 2 seeds in the dirt, going to have some fun with it, though i do not expect any yield from it

looks good man i dont know what that is on the leaves what do you do take me through your routine. Ph of the water, nutes used if any where was the leaf located top or bottom of the plant ph of your run off or do you know?

I think it was nute burn, but still not 100% sure.
can't measure ph or ppm yet, maxibloom was using 1tsp/gal but will now be using .5 tsp and feed half as often to see how that goes. leaves were on top.

glad you stopped by. this is of course my first time growing indoors, but it's not too much different. less pest problems, more of everything else it seems. so much complication to keeping them happy.
I hope whoever I am giving hope to learns from whatever mistakes I make here

Also, I may have a bit of powdery mildew. I was told that baking soda and cold water sprayed on the infected leaves is a remedy, so I will see how that goes. I hope it doesn't kill anything but the mildew :S

I think the way you approached this is the way to go, as I was before I got jacked.

Keeping your first grow cheap and basic is ideal for me. You can make mistakes in a cheaply made environment. And by keeping it basic, you can get a feel for how a grow goes, that actual hands on experience. And by keeping it simple, problems are easier to identify, having less variables.

I figure, I'd rather spend the 40 bucks it took me, and make mistakes then, and maybe not get a great yield first time, but its better than forking out a couple hundred and having mistakes plague your grow and not meet raised yield expectations.

When I have the experience to make best use of a better budget, thats when I'll spend some more.

ok, for all you watching, another fan has been put in with a big new hole cut behind it. there is some serious suction going on with these intake holes, because I have such an enormous exhaust fan. I was told that you need intake holes totaling 2x the area of the exhaust hole, but this is impossible with this box as it would require ~3 cubic feet. But I will put more in to make it as adequate as I can.

gotta figure out how to filter these holes, to prevent more issues with mildew and anything else that may happen. was told the plastic mesh stuff from window screens works, folded so the net crosses with the layer underneath.

The baking soda/water seems to have worked like a charm, if PM pops up again now I know what to do.

There was definitely some nute burn going on, more small brown spots in middle of some other leaves. positive this was the issue with them before.

Simple, cheap = awwwwwh yeah.
this grow is about several things to me, reducing the amount of money I spend on stuff someone else has grown, learning what to do and what not, and to make something better than the mexipoop floating around here.

i am using only MAXIBLOOM at very low strength now, and kelp meal mixed in with my soil and occasionally with the bloom, but then i burned so i am laying off and only dechlorinated water 4 now, and feed when they tell me they need it. this is going to be very nice to have a proper dresser cab rather than cardboard boxes jury rigged together.

still waitin to borrow a digital camera ;_; they are looking very nice and there are little hairs protruding from calyx growth and still tying down.
i am very pleased and also I am using CO2 with 2 bottles of warm water with yeast and grape jelly as advised by some ATL bro in microgrow I cannot remember but he dun gud
they like it i think and are going to be happy once I finish to construct the new dresser

waiting to be able to take good pics with a borrowed camera some time
fixed big problems by not feeding so much
and turning off that giant fan
it was useless lowering humidity
the lights are raised letting them stretch a bit making some lovely pistils all over
will make a secureable flap and remove the large fan
move the 2 small fans to the top to exhaust hot air out
use the holes they are at now and the hole that serves as passive intake and a mounting place for the hygrometer when i am monitoring it.
the humidity is stable at 40 now
good news compared to 30 before with the big fan running
noob mistake

Excited to see you get a cab going man! I am in the midst of rebuilding mine, with what ever I can find laying around/on side of street/at used stuff stores.

Found this sweet lamp, that had the socket attached to a rotating bracket, took it off the base of the lamp and secured the bracket to the side of my cab with a bolt, nut and some washers. Nice, so that when the plants are small I can angle the lights down, and as they get bigger, rotate em back parallel with the roof. With a Y splitter socket and a couple 40 watt CFLS it gives good light distribution on a wide canopy (although does not penetrate well) so spreading out the canopy lst is the way to go.

Also with spring around the corner, people will be doing spring cleaning. It's like a poor grower's Christmas. I have secured both of the cabinets I have used. One of the black pvc elbows I use for ventilation, 2 lamps for their sockets, and pc fans galore. Keep your eye out.
