Hello, 1st time grower, purchased el jardin dr90ii 3x3x6 tent. My plan is to grow 6 plants in 3 gal smart pots. I purchased a 4 bulb tek 4 system (20000 lumen) and a 2 bulb tek (10000 lumen). I can fit the 6 pots in a 2x3 space in the tent, going to leave the other space for fans and when i decide to upgrade to side lighting. Do you guys think this is enough lighting? 330w.

I'm hoping to get 1-1.5 oz out of each plant, is that too much to expect? I plan on starting with 3 dinafem white widow 3 wos afghan kush ryder.

I will eventually purchase another tek 4 4 bulb and 2 bulb and have then right up to the edge of the plants as side lighting, forming an upside down "L" onto the plants. I'm not a cash cropper, just looking to grow for me and some friends :)

Both strains are autoflowering and I plan on using 50/50 6700 3000k spectrum, that way I don't have to change the bulbs out. Anyone run this type of setup with the PLLs?

I was so hoping someone can answer a question for me. I want this cab for growing in stealth wise. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sauder-Orchard-Hills-Armoire-Carolina-Oak/5292869 the top half will be used to flower in the bottom half for mothers and cloning. The top half is about 12 cubic feet. I'm not exactly sure because I don't have it to measure it for sure. It isn't much more than that if it is. I want to know will the S&P TD 150 be enough to cool it. I want to put 4x55 Pl-l lights in it vertical equally spaced. With 4 to 6 plants around each light for a perpetual sog. The S&P is rated for 62 cfm on low and 178 on high with a static pressure of .75. I would like to use just one fan to to cool the whole cab. I will either use 2x36 pl-l for veg or a few 27w cfls. Of course I will have other fans inside to circulate the air. Ambient temp will be between 70 and 75. The balast will be outside the cab and a carbon filter will be inside the cab with the fan outside pulling air out.

Just had another question. In the flower chamber I will be using 3000k bulbs. Plants will be no more than 2 ft tall. Is there another spectrum I should add to the 4x55w 3000k bulbs?

You will be fine man, the plants will grow but you might get better results with other spectrums but I can't say for sure cuz I don't have much experience with PL-Ls

i used em in my flower cab for a while, and they kept things nice and short with tight internode spacing. I think I had the 4000k spectrum tho.

good luck man, would love to see how you do.

Thanks I'm more than likely going to add 4 26w 6500k cfls also. I'm more concerned about the heat than anything. I never used the Pl-l lights. So I don't know what to expect. I'm really hoping the low setting of the fan will work at 62cfm.

Idk ive never used an S&P but I hear they are great. I am probably going to purchase one soon.

but i think you'd be better off running it on high with a carbon scrubber and muffler to reduce noise/cfms.

Hi guys,

3000K will work fine for flowering:

2700K is better I'm told, but harder to find.

OO

And here's what it looks like in reality:

If you want a fairly precise copy, you'll have to make your measurements absolutely as exact as possible (I used 1, 1, 1, 1.8, 2.5 cm long line segments). You will need a long piece of wood with a sharp edge to bend around (and another long piece to push with) and before bending, mark the edges you want to bend. Before bending, use a sharp metal tool to scrape down the entire line 2-3 times, which will make the aluminium bend at the right position. Scrape 6-7 times and bend it over entirely, if you want to cut it at a certain mark.

Those looks great. What are they and how tall are they? I want to flower some long flowering sativas also. That's why I plan to add the 6500k. I read they like the added blue. And I you are right about the 2700k. I think I seen a few here and there. I didn't save where. I feel safer ordering from a recommended source.

I will see how that works out when I get everything. I would have thought it would be more quite on low. As long as its quite is all that matters though. I'm sure high will keep heat in check with no problem. So that works out fine.

Does anybody know a good way of cooling this lamps in a vert position? How much light would I loose if I was using 2l "PET-bottles" around each bulb? Would it be a good idea to do so?
Mostly so that the plants dont rest towards the bulbs and burns itself. HG!

OK PL-L Pals, what brand of tube are you using?

I'm aware that Philips are considered to have the best overall spread of spectrum, particularly in the popular 41K, but at near twice the price of other name brands.

In your experience are they worth the freight, or have you had happy results with another brand?

Thanks everyone.

I've been using the osram/sylvania for the most part but have been mixing in the cheaper Eiko brand and have found them to be satisfactory as well.
