PLEASE HELP. exhuasting grow room into basement

Hi guys, this is my situation i have a 7 by 7 grow room in my basement, for a little while now ive been pulling air from one side of my basement through my grow room then out into the other side of my basement...

now the hot air from my garden will that casue problems if vented back into the house?

should i be exhausting the hot air outside?

my reason for asking is that ive been experience moisture in the basement even with a dehumidifier on inside the room where the hot air is being vented

if anyone one has any info or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated thanks guys!

I vent my flower room hoods, veg room hoods, veg room exhaust back into a basement type of room. Been doing this for about 4 yrs. Total watts 3600, 1800 in each room. My flower room.is sealed/co2.

thanks for the reply brother ! ok i am not using co2 yet and my room isnt sealed. so i have a separate fan and scrubber exchanging the air in the grow room ... maybe the humid air from the plants into the other room is the problem ... should i be exhausting that air out side?

If you exhaust air outside then you have to make provisions to bring in outside air someplace else to replace it. Otherwise you can easily create negative pressure where that outside air is drawn in from the flues of gas or oil fired furnaces & water heaters.

Humidity in the basement shouldn't be a big problem unless it's truly excessive.

when I was in my 1st location (condo 1200sq' basement), 2x 4x4 tents, 600mh in 1, 600hps in the other. I took all my air and dumped it right back into my basement. I did run a 8k btu portable ac for flower room. port ac exhaust dumped outside, that was the only air being dumped outside. I never had any rh issues down there.

OK fellas really appreciate all the input... its probably just the basement thats producing the excess moisture .

im think even if there was some humidity coming from the flower room the dehumidifier should be able to keep up with that np

No, it is the plants respiration that is humidifying the air, you must have extraction out of the garden and the house. If you use just an exhaust, the air is drawn from your house, causing negative pressure, despite the name, this is a positive thing... no smells linger around or spread as everything is drawn into the grow, passing the plants which add humidity and eat CO2, then scrubbed by the carbon filter or Ozone, then out and replaced by fresh, dry, CO2 rich air.

Remember also that Carbon filters drop off drastically in efficiency in high humidity situations and that Ozone also fucks them, use it downstream. O3 can also fuck ducting due to an acid discharge, so ask/listen/investigate... it works best in a lung room. If you face a severe legal penalty if caught, also think about powering it all via a computer UPS battery, so smell problems do not appear every power cut you have...

ChaosCatalunya thanks for the reply dude ...

I believe ive understood most of what you said. exhausting the air outside will make sure im getting new air into the house and garden.

so now my problem would be WHERE? suggestions on where to exhaust the air out of my house from the basement?

Yes, draw from the house, into the garden, filter > exhaust > outside

That way nothing escapes into the house and it starts to stink
That way you get the most constant temperatures and humidity

We cannot see your basement... Is there just a door in ?

Chimneys are usually best, but take great care where gas fires, boilers etc are also venting, CO kills, silently. If you have those ground level small windows, they can be OK, but need a handy bush or wood stack etc. to disguise the air rushing out

Pull the air from your living space (its probably already perfect temp)...You can exhaust back into your house but make sure to leave a window cracked or run the dehumidifier (in the house) because moisture will build up. Your temps will probably stay more consistent this way with the air being average with the whole house. :smoker:

If you dont want moisture in your house dû to the grow room seal it.You are almost there only add co2 and a/c and voilà , your's number will increase also .Sealed room here 6k bare bulb ,only exhaust from room is hot air from a/c .In winter i use it to heat my home and in summer i use my chimney :) to keep everyting cool .
