You use an HP S light is that what I'm seeing in those flower rooms will let me ask you this what are you going to do when you start growing these hybrids that are used to hpes lighting with LED technology when it eventually you do switch over I assume you're going to switch over HPS is slowly becoming obsolete I imagine if you're having trouble getting your furnace turned on properly or working properly that the electricity where you are is not cheap just to just to here and there

you do have a point about the electrical usage it can expensive depending on what configuration I’m running for a particular grow, but it’s a business overhead..It’s funny you should ask I’m a hard-core HPS advocate I’ve been using them since 1996 I use it for veg and bloom I’ve never needed to use anything else I find them relatively inexpensive to purchase compared to LED & I get good results… if somethings not broke why fix it?… I can buy four times as much HPS for the price of one LED lamp and cover four times the amount of canopy … if inclined you would be astounded how much coverage and growth you can get from just one vertically hung bare bulb HPS lamp

You also have to take into account that the led diodes have efficiency loss over time and from what I've read should be replaced every two years so the electrical cost savings is rather negligible in the end.

My e680 LED bar lights have been running a year now, and the same power setting is still putting out about the same umoles. I wouldn't sweat degradation of LEDs.

In a smaller enclosed space I see that LEDs will probably be a good choice

We we've noticed that we have a really big difference when we've grown cultivars under hPS and metal halide that have been grown since what the technology was introduced I'm not even going to try and guess when HPsnmh we're still I mean I can remember seeing seeing them in the high school parking lot lighting so I'm sure they've been around for a while the newer LED lights I can't get my flowers to be as thick and huge in the same genetics as they are thigh wondering if the plant remembers and likes that specific metal halide HPS I mean I'm sure the LEDs are going to catch up with a already have but my experience I've noticed it

The little black tube inside the hps bulb....as the ends blacken up as the hours increase from usage......they usually lasted me 3 grows before I'd replace them. That being said the only reason I stopped using my HID lighting that I had then was I was using magnetic ballasts and my capacitor went and trying to get it replaced was a pain in the ass and I couldn't at the time of Ford I think it was hortilux had their own digital blast with a hanging thing I wanted to grab it I think they wanted like 1500 bucks and I just couldn't cut it at the time so I don't mind going back especially if it's very bulb.

hi LT , The only canna products that I need to use are canna coco brick (for medium ) coco A & B for nutrition, and boost …are u in coco? What’s your water source? Tap water to mix & personally I don’t have check ph anymore and can’t remember the last time , also & don’t use pens because my grows are good… The only variable is the strength in which you mix the nutes, some plants like full strength (Mac#1)for example some like 1/2 strength (OHaze & the sativa hybrids) basically let the plants tell me what they need and I adjust it accordingly…

Things are better since I got the humidity up that might have been totally messing things up. I havent had issues with hps and pbp and hydroton on ebb setup for years. Then I tried a tent with coco and later got an led before dialing the coco. I still dont like the tents and prefer a more open area with white poly.

Coco and hps had deficiencies with pbp. added the led and switched to canna and working on fixing vpd things looking better. Think Ive just been going in circles but the increase in humidity really made a noticeable difference. That might have been the issue all along. Started looking back at the basics and a simple check of the environment might have done the trick. Yes canna bricks too.

That PKB is looking gnarly!
