we have a few of rez's sd kushes in waterfarms now veggin for 35days. all were looking healthy... no problems.. all of a sudden on monday, one of the plants started to droop badly and seems to die (if not dead, pretty close to it)... we pulled it on tuesday...

we checked the roots, large...very large all nice and white, no bugs/insects that are apparent... all the other plants are ok...

any ideas???

need more information about your grow; can you fill out any of this information? Pics would also help a ton.

HYDROPONICS:

What STRAIN are you growing?
What was the establishing technique? (Were the seed or clone?)
What is the age of your plants?
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?
What Technique are you using?
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.)
What is the Water temperature?
What Nutrient's are you using? How much of each if using multiple?
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using?
What is the pH of the "Tank"?
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment?
When was your last watering?
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional)
What size bulb are you using?
What is the distance to the canopy?
What is your RH Factor?
What is the canopy temperature?
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range)
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?
Is your water HARD or SOFT?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When?
Are plant's infected with pest's

HYDROPONICS:

What STRAIN are you growing? - rez's sdkush, ibl, jack herer
What was the establishing technique? - all were cuttings
What is the age of your plants we take cuttings at the end of veg of ea grow
What PHASE are the plants in? (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? - we are 35 days into veg
What Technique are you using? waterfarms -drip
What substrate/medium are you using?(Hydroton, RockWool etc.) hydroton
What is the Water temperature? - between 70/75f
What Nutrient's are you using? How much of each if using multiple?- we are using canna nutes at 75% strength
What is the TDS/EC/PPM you are using? - the water is abt 100, total is 650
What is the pH of the "Tank"? it drifts between 5.2 and 6.5 ov er about 5days
Are you sure your calibration is correct on your equiptment?
When was your last watering?.. we keep the drippers on 24hrs
When was your last feeding change? (ie. grow-bloom-micro-additional)
What size bulb are you using? 2 x 1000w
What is the distance to the canopy? we keep the lights about 3 1/2 ft
What is your RH Factor?.. not sure
What is the canopy temperature? between 78/85f
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include flucutaion range) at night 65/67f
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) we have fans blowing across the lites
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? it is usually hitting the tops
Is your water HARD or SOFT? it is well water, never ever had any problem bfor
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned off of or pinched. we pinched last wkend
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so, What and When? safer soap as a precaustion against mites
Are plant's infected with pest's
none that we see

it seems that only one plant was affected, tho a 2nd looked like it mite be, but now looks fine

thanks

Stitch isn't home right now, but I'd think if ya got spark and ya got fire, ya need fuel, lol. I know it's not a car's engine but looks like everythings there but the plants just can't use it. pH too high at times maybe. Just a thought to tide ya over till Stitch gets here. hehe.

Lots of times we end up with a plant that just has different needs, maybe one in a grow among many others that don't have a problem. I have an F-13 that's so skinny it's gotta run around in the shower to get wet - when it turns sideways and sticks out its tongue, it looks like a zipper - when it drinks strawberry soda, it looks like a thermometer. hehehe.

That's all I can remember from like 3rd grade, lmfao.

I'm just the opening act for Stitch till she gets here, lol.

Sorry if you don't feel like humor. Been there, done that. The good news... you've got a bunch of plants that aren't givin ya probs.

Meet "The Stick"

Peace

With canna nutrients you should be going by there charts tell you and not cutting back 75%.

Another thing pH is swinging a bit too high; also when you have multiple strains in a water farm you are going to get problems like this if you have not grown them before and know they need the same pH and care, nutrients and so on.....

Each strain is different in terms of nutrient requirements and some can take a higher pH swing without ill effects where some are more touchy than others.... which is why it's best to keep the same strain in the same system, unless you know for a fact you can grow them the same way as the other strains and won't have any problems.

Also try to keep temps under 70F your water temps that is..... a little warm which could start bacteria growth; I would add some h202 or and hydroguard to help protect it if it does start.

Are all your plants roots white?

Also, I don't think you should be dripping for 24 hours like that.... I think there is supossed to be a timed limit with those types of systems....... Have seen a lot of peeps kill plants once there system was set to 24 hour drip; I bet that had to do a lot with your problem too.

I am not good with ebb n flow drip type things; that is still something I am learning.
But I do know the basics of them......

You wash that hydroton real good before using it?

ref the nutes we start the plants at 15/20%, increasing the strength to 100% after 4 weeks in veg. we have 6 sd kushes growing, all fed by the same reserviour, yet only 2 have shown this droopeness, and had to be pulled... the roots are very/very white (and large)

as to the ph, we have grown this variety before, never had any such problem with the varying ph.

the temp's are what we have grown in the past without any problems. as to the dripping, all the grows have been for 24 hrs, even when flowering 12/12, without a hiccup...

as said we cut the 2 plants ,and the rest are very/very healthy...

Without pics it is too hard to go by the information; I more read the plant than anything else as to what is going on, but can never give a solid answer just by looking at a pic, because one problem could be caused by various problems.

Maybe those 2 were not getting enough air; or something may have been clogged; something that was not right with those 2 that was right with the rest...... how often you clean your system out and such?

I know you pulled them already; but if something like that happens again it's always good to try to figure out what you did wrong if you did something wrong.
