It is alot of mental for me as well. I LOVE to work with a cig hanging from my lips. I love to play my guitar with a cig stuck on the Head. I love to smoke afcter food / sex / shower / waking up / you name it.

No drugs to quit other than a nicotine patch.

I been thinking about the Electronic cigarette..... A nice crutch instead of patches. Nice nicotine vapor in your mouth instead.

I can live without the nicotine, it's the holding the cig, lighting it mental thing I have trouble with... E Cig maybe will help me... and you?

Yes I can quit !! I've had a few "talking myself through it" moments this morning. I'm In the heat of battle today. It comes in waves.

Yes Pirate, you can do it! I picked up the habit overseas and it took a while but I kicked it cold turkey! You can too, you just have to know you can.... The hardest part is getting over the "habit" of smoking.... after meals, in the car, when you are bored, etc. I think driving and smoking was the hardest for me to stop doing, but it like everything else had to stop. Good luck man, YOU CAN DO IT!

Good Luck man and the biggest thing is all the money you will save. My biggest problem was not the craving but the need to have a cig hanging from my lips too.
Avoid the pit fall of triggers like certain things you did while smoking (like everything) Some of mine were talking on the phone and lighting up, or out BBQing and lighting up.
Keep a cruch handy to put in your mouth like a tootsie pop or better yet a joint. You don't have to light it to get you through it. I realy loved to smoke but life is so much better now. And boy do I hate 2nd hand smoke now.

I Lollipop my plants during the first week or so of Bloom (12/12) I do this because my plants are only 5 inches apart and the lower half of the plant will not be getting any light. Trimming off the lower buds and leaves will help keep out disease / open up airflow and direct energy to the main cola. I don't care for the popcorn buds. I want a field of Fat Colas.

I trim the fan leaves and bud leaves as soon as I harvest the plants. If you wait until the buds are dry..........trimming will be a freakin nightmare. If you want Clean Buds with Great Bag Appeal.......trimming prior to drying is required. BUT........if the buds will never leave your house and you don't care how they look............leaving the "Bud leaves" fairly long will leave a shitload of resin glands on the buds. I save all my trim to make hash / oil or BHO.

Trimming:

Once I trim.........I place the buds into that Hanging net rack......on a wire or on a screen. I do not pile the buds on top of each other but try and leave as much space between them as space allows. I will run a small (slow speed) fan in the closet or room I am drying in. Recently I have been drying in a grow tent. I direct the fan AWAY from the buds so they get moving air but also INDIRECT blowing. If the fan is directed at the buds they will dry out to fast and be harsh when smoking. I want them to dry slowly. Usually around seven days to dry enough for me to begin the cure. Typically the buds are dry when you can "Snap" them off the stalk.

I cure by placing the dried buds into jars. I usually use 1 quart mason jars. I will leave the buds in the jars for several hours or till the next morning and then open the jars to feel the buds and allow fresh air exchange. If the buds feel fairly damp.......I will remove from jar and spread on a table for 24 hours. (no fan) Then place them back into the jar. I will do this till the buds no longer feel damp. Usually only one time. When the buds are locked into the jar the dampness deep within the bud and stem is drawn out. Eventually there will be no more moisture. Once the buds are totally dry and all moisture is drawn out..........I open the jars once a day for a week to allow fresh air in. After that..........I seal the jar and let it sit for.........??????????? I have one jar that has not been opened for 2 years.

Mason Jars:

I have a shitload of special jars. I buy them at local thrift shops or on eBay. They are decorative......always have a rubber seal and are set in a display cabinet with all my different strains. When a friend or 2 comes over I allow them to........."Pick One" to smoke. (Note: NOBODY.......knows I grow. They all think I buy from friends who do or get my stash from a Cannabis club) There is only one person that knows I grow and he lives 400 miles away and has no idea where I live. Technically........I am 100% legal under California law. BUT........I take no chances to get screwed with. Better to be safe than sorry IMO. Some people just don't understand............Like a landlord !!!!!!!!!! (or rogue cops)

My Special Jars: But I have a shitload more of all shapes and sizes. I got these for $3.00 each on ebay. I think I got 10 total.

Don't forget that you quit smoking. One time I stopped and a year latter I answered the phone and there was a pack sitting there and I lit up. 10 cigs later I remembered I quit got a damn bad headache too. Took Another year to quit for good.

However........I failed. Here is the short story:

Late morning of day #4.... I received news that my incarcerated brother has been diagnosed with an "advanced" case of a certain terminal disease. The only good news is that he gets out in less than 2 weeks. I hadn't quit smoking long enough to overcome the stress of that news and I gave into temptation.

I did realize that.........there is no point in TWO of us dying so I will not allow myself to be suckered into my own delusions. I am re-quitting on Thursday now that I am over the initial shock of such bad news. I still can't sleep or think much about anything else but my brother.

The prison will not give us ANY info whatsoever except that........Yes he is alive. We are totally in the dark on everything else. They give us nothing but the run around. Fucking assholes !! All we know is we received a "Deathbed" letter from him in the prison hospital and he didn't know if he would make it to release. It is that bad.

I want my little brother to die a free man and in my arms. Not in a prison cell !!!!
