Allways wondered what your thoughts are on a 2-3 day dark period at the end of flower?

Some swear by it some don't even try it, so what say you phoenix

Hey Big,
I know you asked Pheonix, but I do the dark at the end of my flowering. Well I only have a 4 x 4 tent and I usually take them out a week early to sit in my mostly dark room so I can fit the next one in the flower tent. I let them sit for up to two weeks sometime's as life gets in the way of chopping day. I do it because I do believe it adds trichome's, smell-but also because I need the room in the tent too. Just my two cents, and how things work for me.

"Mostly dark" as I do turn the light on in there to mix nutrients, and open the tents to go in and do some work.

I do a 48 hour dark period if I dont have multiple strains on the go... helps them finish off nicely - even if I cant say I really understand the exact science of what happens...it might be to do with rising sap...

Noted shoes man! I've always wondered tbh so I thought I'd ask about

I was looking at a white widdow bean yesterday and they suggested up to 3 weeks in darkness at the end, I was baffled as I thought 3 days is the most I've heard of

wow 3 weeks? thats nuts.. I never heard that either.. I do know that terps and resins can be damaged by high power lamps in the last 2 weeks and thats why in that period I move my lamps as high and as far away as I can... never heard of 2 weeks though... I would be worried about rot if they (or the medium) were damp ...

Yeahr, finishes em' off nicely for me.

TBH Big, I have had them in the mostly dark room for up to 3 weeks when life kept getting in the way of the chop. Not that I practice it that long, but I didn't really notice any ill effects.

Jamie, I am in coco and give them water everyday in said dark period with no ill effects. Sometimes even pouring extra water through, almost leaching the plant. I guess sometimes you can notice a little overwatering at the end on some strains.

Just my two cents, how I do-and how things work for me...

i have tried it but i don't use that dark period, it makes sense and i have a friend who does it and if i had enough room i'd try it again, but i'm pushed with the mummy room, and the quality i get is near there or there about and sometimes they have just been around way too long and i'm just too damn peckish

i do turn my lights down at the end for similar reasons to what J says and Bobbo's resulting pics from doing it are sweeeeet

I think I'm gonna leave em in the dark for 3 days pre dry
Then I'm lookin at a whopping yeild anyway so it can't hurt can it lol

Im glad I got the spectrums I have tho as them uva bulbs are quite dear if you want a decent wattage

all my trics are looking cloudy as i look around with the scope. i'm aiming for 20% Amber

i'm going up shortly and i'll be thinning out the bottom/middle as humidity is pushing 70 at lights out.

i'm sorely tempted on a test branch from 7 but i'm on my best behaviour for this grow the longer i leave it the better
