Hey Bobbo I will just put the rest of my process down just in case onlookers are interested.


Yes...But I first place seeds in a glass of water for 2 hours then come back and Knock them underwater because they float at first.
Then I place in warm and Dark location for 22 or so hours.
This gets the seeds to crack.
Then into damp but not soaked paper towels.Labeled and then back into warm location in complete darkness.

24 hr in water...example cracked seeds

This photo shows 2 thing.The size I like the taproots for planting in soil and how the taproots sometimes burrow into the paper towels.

You are probably asking yourself why is he showing the germ bags again...Because The biohazard bag I scored at the hospital was cool.

This is how they end up after they go into soil.Zip lock bag over them and 24 hours light until they can handle the lower temps of light out and the lower humidity.

I very very rarely lose a seed because of germination.I shoot for 100% every time.
I just ordered a heat mat for germination purpose....The top of a water heater or sometimes above a refrigerator works out for a consistent warm space.

that's so funny that you also use that thermometer, I use the same exact thing to do the same...

I have been walking through life thinking I was the only one that used a Meat thermometer to put seeds into dirt.Im sure you looked in the kitchen for something and fished it out like me.
I just used it on sunday to check the chicken and ribs I had smoking for 4 hours.I love dual function from a device.

Hey Nick
Does your Ipad have a flash?That can help in low light situations.You can grab a drop light and get a led bulb from Hd for supplemental lighting too.
Bring up stairs at the end of the day when the sun is lower and get some sweet subtle light coming through a window.
I try to work with what I own and the environment I'm in.
The great thing is if it is not working out erase and try something new.Ipad and cell phones can take stunning photos with good light.

I agree though, some cell phones do take very nice pics... I bought a couple digital cameras before and came to find that my iPad takes better pics ... what a wAste.

I also do the bag over a cup trick. Not for seed plants though. I do it with freshly rooted clones. Helps to get them adjusted into the soil after coming out of the tray, without the shock of going from an extremely humid environment, to an environment with a lot lower humidity. I just took the bag off a OGKB 2.0 in a cup last night, lol.

That bag trick is also great for when the cloner is full and you want to make some clones anyway. A six pack will fit inside a gallon baggie easily. Then just seal the bag up and boom. Instant humidity chamber for freshly made clones.

I think you could add one of these new selfie ring to your Ipad.
I am impressed with the light spectrum they throw off for taking photos.It's a continuous light not a flash.

It's just a design that was stolen from macro photography and people are taking pics of themselves like crazy with these things.there like 12 bucks or so.

I put mine into a cup of water for a couple few days then sow into a seed starting mix mixed with some coco and perlite. I too put the bags over the cups like that.

I have started writing the Chem-d x SsDd report.Hoping to have it complete tomorrow.Not sure...I may have to work tomorrow and mother's day is sunday.I will reread my foolishness in the morning and go through the pics I took.
Side note I have just got in my new heat mat and I will be hopefully bringing my vintage 1:1 macro lens into play.I needed to adapt it to my camera.Got the adapter and connected it up....seems to be right as rain.
I have water sitting out overnight for a watering of the LFHB x ssdd testers.i will hit them in the morning with the H20.
