hi,

I have the following problem, my soil is around 7.5-8 and i need to get it down to 6ish. I have 1 liter of 38% sulfuric acid but i do not know how and what quantity to apply it to the soil. Although i will pad out the hole with a perforated garbage bags i have the feeling that most of the diluted acid will just flush through, so i thinking maybe to let the acid bind to something solid (like soak it up in polymer crystals, let it react with some other element or just let the water evaporate theoretically leaving crystals) so i can work with powder instead of liquid.

Anyway, to sum up:

How do i get the quantity right? Do i dilute the acid to around 4-5 and then just apply 1 liter per hole?
Because slowly working my way to the level i need will take too much time, i had difficulties getting reliable readings, seems the acid takes a while to actually change its level.

I just need some general guide lines as i am total noob
