PersonalMeds' First Grow (Outdoor)

Glock: Thanks for stopping in, man. Yeah she's staked open pretty well now, and we cleared out some of the lower branches that weren't producing anything bigger than super tiny popcorns (if anything at all). We also tied some branches up and away with rope so the airflow should be much better. Saturday night she seemed to be pretty dry, and other than some dirt on the few buds that made it to the ground, she seems okay. Am about to go check on her in 20-30 minutes when the sun is out more, so am keeping my fingers crossed! Hopefully there is no mold going on and everything is good. I don't believe it's rained since that night, thankfully it didn't rain again the next day like predicted, so I think she's got a good shot. I'll take some photos if she's feeling up for it :D

I hear you though, glock, next time around I'll have everything staked up ahead of time too. Live and learn! :joint:

Try to take a close look at her at different times of day. The PM shows up in different lights and you cant always see it as well in some lights. Hope we can hold out for a bit longer and let this baby ripen up . Im sure she is going fast now as she knows the end is near.

Nice meds, you sure got on that fast. make sure you cut out any mold you see IMMEDIATELY! I'd hate for you to lose as much bud as I did earlier this year. :( Then again, you're growing in Cali and I grow in tropical jungle with over 90 inches of rain a year. I had that mold show up on a 100% Indian sativa...hehe. I think it was the lower temperatures that caused it rather than rain though. Dropped down to the 50-60 range (in Feb!)...

Thanks, Babba! I'm going to be watching her the best I can, unfortunately, work today so will soon be leaving for the entirety of the daylight hours. That's why I'm going out beforehand! :D I do hope you're right and she speeds things up. Like I mentioned, we snipped a few branches as well as pulling tons of PM-looking fan leaves, so hopefully that hurries her along.

Glock: I did cut out a few dying buds, thankfully smaller ones so far. Mostly from caterpillar damage to the stem it seems, after closely inspecting them. Thankfully I can still use those buds in some hash bags, as they are really full of crystals and aren't moldy, so they're already in the freezer :)

Glad you managed to deal with the weather PM. Now go and shoot some pics lol.

Stalldaworld, thanks for stopping in and for the compliments! I can't wait to see the finish too :joint:

GMT, nice to have you back mate. Here's some pics for you and Mossy :D

Here's the full shots (I took all these this morning before work), 2 days after the big raindown. She's recovering pretty well.

Here's a closeup of a cola that's developing nicely. I hope the detail shows through here, the actual resolution of my photos is 3072x2048 so IC resizes them:

And lastly, before I head off to sleep (had to work 10 hours today..) here's a nice shot I took of a big Sour Diesel nug I got from a medical dispensary. It's actually 'EC Sour Diesel' but the EC stands for their collective initials not 'East Coast', so I dunno who grew it. But it smells just like the bomb OG kush, Pure kush, etc. they have. Anyway it's a crazy specimen, 3.3g and smells super lemony diesel, tastes delicious, and has a wonderful intoxicating high:

Goodnight, friends! Thanks for sticking with me here!

Thanks for stopping back in, Dime and Wamen! We pulled off some more PM leaves this morning, and since she seems to have at least 2 weeks left we're going to try to find something we can apply to her for mold and mildew (Babba was kind enough to give me suggestions for this!) So we're going to try to do that today, as the weather forecast is turning around and now we're supposed to be mid-80's until next week starting tomorrow and very DRY! So that's good news.

Was a bit startled to find a BLACK WIDOW beginning a little nest in her this morning! It's dead now, but damn did it get our hearts pounding when it came running out of the web into sight. Spotted another very small grasshopper also but he got away and we're running low on time so we must head to work. Will find him later, he's too small to do much damage in 1 day thankfully. :D

Pistils are about 50% mature or more, but trichomes seem to still be mostly clear/cloudy. More later, friends!

yeah, should be a good harvest, but not worth getting bit by a black widow for. Take care checking her in future.

GMT: I agree! Haha, we're both a bit sketchy before reaching into her now, but I believe he was a refugee from the downpour on Saturday as it seemed he hadn't been there long. Since we shouldnt be getting more rain, we shouldn't have any more, but ya just gotta make sure to look for webbing and any dead-looking leaves! :) Thanks, mate.

Off to work now, I hope everyone has a great day!

She has plenty of sunleaves. Where they are very thick and almost touching it would be a good idea to remove some extras so the air flow will move through the plant without problem. She has plenty of leaves to draw from so you can remove a good slug of them and help her get better airflow and not let that mold start up. Anywhere to leaves are touching forms a place that moisture can be made. Thin as many of these places out as possible. I would say by the first of the month you will be super close. Stay right on top of that girl and remember if you have nothing else you can spray diluted milk on the leaves ... staying away from the buds and really slow that pm down. Remeber PM crawls up the stems to the leaves so pay special attention to the stems. When I spray neem serinade or SM 90 I even spray the ground under the plant as I believe that pm will start out there.

Fingers crossed for no mold personalmeds..
the lady herself is looking Delicious.. :yummy:
The buds I harvested in the UK had been in the damp for days..that misty drizzley stuff that goes right through you..and they were fine.
The oil on the buds had repelled all the damp..I am hoping that you are as lucky...she looks as if her buds are all slick with oil now.

MyohoDisco! Thanks for stopping in :D Your words are of great encouragement. I hope that you do chant and grow and grow and chant, and take pictures for us to see! :joint: And the weather looks good for the next week at least, so let's hope!

Babba, my bud, thanks for your tips. You are a fountain of growing knowledge :) I was worried about taking too many of the fan leaves off, even though we've removed quite a bit, as I was worried about stressing her too much. But I'd rather have a couple hermies or something than mold or PM that's for sure. Your instructions above made a lot of sense, so we will prune her some more this morning and get that air flowing even better!

System: Haha, thanks! I think so too. I got it at a music festival actually from a small vendor tent. Good stuff :D

Mossy: Thanks for the words of hope! Haha, I can only hope mine comes out like yours then. So far so good, for now I haven't found any mold on her just some powdery mildew on some leaves that we've been trying to take care of. She still smells wonderful, and you're right, she's getting verrrry resinated and shiny! I think the rain soaking, pruning, and staking/tying we did probably scared her into pumping out more resin to protect her gorgeous flowers. So hopefully she will be done in a few weeks, and the weather looks okay for now, so fingers crossed mate! Thanks for stopping back in!

I hope you are doing a smoke report at the end of this..or I will be gutted :joint:

Hey mossy and acid, thanks for coming on back :joint:

She's about 2-3 weeks away I think, and I'll definitely be doing a smoke report after a proper curing! The other plants I showed pictures of before were pulled already, one last week and the other today.

Oh, and I can smell her before I can see her! Haha, it greets me coming around the corner, it's quite nice.

Today we sprayed a milk solution on the main stalk and ground to try to slow down the PM. Have read really good things about diluted milk at about 10-30%. According to the research, over 30% can cause another fungus, but at least 10% it starts having really good anti-germicide affects. It also has amino acids and salts that act as a foliar fertilizer and boosts the plants immune system. I read that skim milk would be better to use as it has no fat content, so less smell. Researchers in New Zealand showed it works just as good as whole milk. I am reluctant to spray the leaves as it will no doubt get on the buds, and that can't be too good since I can't really wash them off like you would a vegetable before consuming. If she had fat indica leaves it wouldnt be a problem, but they're pretty skinny.

Anyhow so if you would like an organic alternative for Powdery Mildew, give diluted milk a try. Apparently you only apply it once a week.
