Explore North Korea

Here's the first one.

I find North Korea to be one of the most interesting places in the world. Why wouldn't you want to go to the last Communist dictatorship on the earth pursuing a little known little reported on story? What an adventure this could be.

My country imprisons one in three black males, rigs the system against the middle and working class while simultaneously robbing them and it's biggest industry is murdering brown people. I don't have a problem smoking weed here.

Here's from the UK Representative of the KFA

Hello Guerrilla
thank you for your email. It is a fabricated myth that Marijuana
is legal in the DPRK. Drug smuggling is illegal in the DPRK with stringent penalties.
Visiting the DPRK 9 times since 1992 I have never seen anyone smoking cannabis or heard anyone refer to its cultivation.

The DPRK is 80% mountainous and the limited amount of arable land is used for the cultivation of rice, maize, wheat and potatoes . There is no space to grow
drugs.
Of course the DPRK does cultivate Insam(known as Ginseng in the West) which is
widely used as a natural remedy.
best regards
Dermot Hudson

Well, like you say, our country locks us up if they catch us and don't like us...
I suspect when Kim jong doesn't like someone, they just kinda disappear, never to be seen again...

Of course, that happens here sometimes too...

Maybe you can smoak it...but surely the cultivation and distribution is a right reserved to dear leader and his family. Step on those toes, you know where you go....workworkworkworkworkworkwork

Rather live in America with illegal weed than that asswardsback dictatorship.

Seriously though, this has to be a joke though right? How could anyone confirm marijuana is legal in North Korea and why haven't we heard about this before?

Ha, that was one of my first thoughts too. Need to get North Korean genetics on the American streets.

It is legal over there and can be bought at local markets, from what i've read it's of very low potency.Pretty sure there's a thread on here(but may be on another site)about what a tourist had bought over there

What do you mean the biggest industry is murdering brown people ?

I did time in South Korea (US Army early 1970s) and traveled the country rather extensively. Back then...I found the best pot was always laced with opium (sold as OJs...opium joints) while the everyday "ganja" was super cheap (less than $100/lb) and seeded of course. The "sensimilla" variety was about $25/oz...and was OK, but nothing like the Thai Sticks we got via Cambodia. Sticky, stinky and most potent! Korea was/is not known for growing excellent cannabis.

I can not imagine Korea (North or South) producing quality cannabis...weather is not your friend (extreme heat in summer...freezing winters), LEO is rather "unforgiving"...besides I know "first hand" the "korean mafia" is importing to Korea all the aromatic cannabis they can find here in So Cali. Why would they import if they already "have the best" back home?

But hey...what do people like me know about repressive societies?

If I was going to move somewhere to grow or buy legal weed, I'd go to Colorado. Or California, where seeing a doctor once a year makes it legal.

I sent the UK representative another e-mail basically saying "Really?" and sent him a couple of articles talking about marijuana in North Korea, here's his response.

Vice magazine is total rubbish . They used deception to do an interview with me
by getting one of their reporters to be pretend to a student at Glasgow University . A lot of their articles do not look serious.

To reiterate I have never noticed marijuana on sale or any evidence suggesting
widespread drug use in the DPRK. I never seen anyone wandering about stoned.
People in the DPRK do drink alcohol including strong spirits

The only tiny grain of truth in the story is that probably the DPRK's Insam
and other herbal remedies are stronger than what can be bought without a
medical prescription in the UK or EU.
