I've got a negative Vapor Pressure Density going on.
I don't have vapor pressure.
I've got vapor vacuum.

I wonder what the Vapor Vacuum Undensiity for humid air at 18°C, 101.6 kPa, and 87% humidity is 🤔?

The plant is probably reverse transpiring and taking in moisture from the air instead of giving moisture to the air?

I replaced one of the sticky traps to see how many new bugs I catch.

The surface of the media is drying out.
I'll give it another day or so then cover it with perlite.

I don't want to bother with soil mites or nematodes if I don't have to. I don't want to spend the money or kill all my springtails, and the bugs are still coming in from outdoors until fall kicks in.

I'm going to wait until the weather cools down in about a month before I start my next closet plant.
That should give me time to see what happens with the fungus gnats.

I found this life cycle of fungus gnats,..

That's why the other day that bug just took a stroll over it.

Yeah, that makes sense. Things aren't as sticky when they're wet.

I did manage to catch 2 bugs on my window planter. I'm pretty sure that they're not fungus gnats. They don't have horns.

I'm going to buy a can of Raid.
I won't spray the plants, but I want to hose down my kitchen garbage can.
Every time I open it a dozen bugs fly out.

I think that I've caught regular fruit flies??

Screenshot_20220902-155752_DuckDuckGo.jpg

I've seen this too,..

Screenshot_20220902-160237_DuckDuckGo.jpg

They can fuck and fly at the same time. Lol

I've seen them fly by my head.
They are quite agile in the air even when they are connected together.

Those fucking flies that are fucking while they're flying. lol

I wonder if fruit flies eat fungus gnats?
Maybe I shouldn't kill them?
Or do they only eat fruit? They might be Vegans. lol

They eat fruits yeah. Attracted to weed too, or is it just fruity smelling strains.. :D

So, anyway,.. do you know if they are harmful to my plants? Do I need to worry about them?

I Googled it,..
It looks like they are fine.

Not super harmful but super annoying. And possibly a vector for who knows what pathogens pathogens. Stopped buying bananas to bring home for exactly this reason. :D

Yeah, it's the fruit and vegetable waste that really breads fruit flies.
Meat waste tends to attract shit flies that lay eggs in my garbage can. Then my garbage can is crawling with maggots.
I'm buying some bug killer.

I bought a can of bug spray/killer for the garbage can and some sticky fly 🪰 traps.

IMG_20220903_140621.jpg

I caught a couple bugs already,..

IMG_20220903_140700.jpg

I caught 11 bugs so far with the ribbon fly trap. It seems to work better than the other sticky traps, but it's really gooey and leaves goo on anything it touches so you have to keep it from touching your plants.

The plant looks good. I might have to do something with the support I made for it as she grows taller, but I don't think I want to remove it. I'm afraid that she'll fall over without it.
