I would definitely let her go a little longer. I find that this criss does best around 11 weeks from germination.

She will be 11 weeks old in 4 days, but I have no problem waiting for it.

I'm debating whether or not to take her past ripe again?

Maybe I'll just chop her at a normal time?

This is a couple of buds from the middle of the plant that shows a good average of what she looks like overall.
She's looking pretty close to finished.

This is a lower flower that looks like it's just getting started.

I guess that I should get my jewelers loupe out and take a look at her?

Be aware of too much water and mold buds, keep an eye open.

She is beautifull ReikoX :good:

Peace :tiphat:

Yeah, I'm only putting water in the tray and I'm using lots of LITFA.
(although I do have 4 bulbs shining on her. Lol)

The mold bugs may become an issue though.
I did scoop soil from closet plant on to the window plant, but I couldn't see any soil mites in it?

I haven't seen any fungus gnats lately, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they aren't getting ready to infest my plant if it's not protected.

There may have just been only a few soil mites left because they ate all there food? Or I drown them all when I flushed my planter multiple times?

I'll just keep an eye out for bugs.

I'll put a layer of perlite on top of the soil and I've got sticky traps to use, but I'm not not going to burn that bridge until I get to it. Lol

I'm not worried about my closet plant. She's a big girl now and she can take care of herself.

It would take a forest fire to take her out now. Lol

I tried it again, but there wasn't much resin left to get my fingers sticky.

I probably won't smoke that bud.
It's covered in snot now. Lol

No buds, i was referring to the big girl in the closet, not mold bugs or bugs in the youngster

Peace :tiphat:

I'm not too worried about it.
When I had fungus gnats in my window plants, the plants were well established and the bugs didn't seem to make any difference.

I think that I put perlite on top of the soil and hung a few sticky traps, but nothing else and the plants turned out fine.

I'll keep an eye out for flying bugs, but I'm not going to worry if I only see 1 or 2 bugs a week.

I do have some green growing on the base of my stalk, but I looks more like moss or algae than mold.
I've had that before too, and it wasn't a problem.

I took some trichome pictures.
I didn't see many amber trichs.
She needs more time.

The plant is covered in cat hair.
I'm going to have to try and pick it off at harvest.
It's stuck on there really good. I'm pretty sure it won't wash off.

I realized that my jewelers loupe comes apart.
It's less cumbersome to hold and look through just the silver lens.

I'm going to wait and see if any bugs show up.
I'd like to know if my soil mites are still in the soil and doing their thing.

The closet plant will be fine even if she gets bugs at this point, and the window plant is mostly just an ornament for the kitchen. Lol

If I need to buy more soil mites, I have to wait until spring anyway, because they can't ship the mites to my house in the winter because if they freeze, they will die.

I'm not going to use perlite on top of the soil unless I have to, because I want to know if my soil is bug proof, not the perlite on top of it making it bug proof.

If all goes well, I will see the occasional flying bug in my house with no infestation, then I know that I can just ignore any bugs that I see.
(except maybe spider mites, they live above the soil)

aliceklar ...

pH meter is a reasonable brand - but I now have buffer solution and will calibrate tonight.

Some guys calibrate their meters weekly and that gets expensive and wasteful if you need to make more buffer solutions frequently.

I figured that you can preserve the solutions if they are sealed in a jar.

I figure that the solution "goes bad" when it absorbs CO2 from the air, creating carbonic acid which over time depletes the buffering effect of the solutions.

It appears to be working but if I reuse the solution and the calibration is off, I don't know if it's the meter or the solution.

I will at some point make a new batch of solutions and compare it to the stored solutions to see if they give the same readings.

For me the 6 months old 7.01 buffer in jar was identical with the fresh one. I have to notice, I dip the sensor in distilled water before dipping into buffers. I try to avoid contamination.

Great !!

I wasn't sure about that, so it's good to know that you can keep it for a long time.
I use the distilled water too. My RO water is probably good enough but I want to make sure.

aliceklar ... make sure you use distilled water to make your buffer solutions.

Hey Buds :) The buffer solution I've got is liquid - I've got 300ml of it and it only takes 10ml per calibration, so that should last me a while. Just sorted out my meter. It is working fine again now :jump: AK is happy.

Ohh OK...
I forgot about the liquid stuff.

Do you have all 3 or just the PH 6.86?

Looks like a different system... I got a bottle of pH7, and a bottle of pH4. Cost about $12. Instructions said that normally only calibration with the 7 is necessary, but if that doesnt work then do "2 point"(?) calibration with the 4 as well. Anyway, the 7 did the trick. All good :)

I'm kind of confused now...

This is the 3 pack of liquid solutions with PH's of 4.00 7.00 and 10.00

Screenshot_20220110-162758_eBay.jpg

The powders are 4.01 6.86 and 9.18

Screenshot_20220110-162937_eBay.jpg

Is the liquid 7.0 actually 7.0 ? Or is it 6.86 like the powder ??

My meter has automatic calibration and when I calibrate it, it automatically assumes that it is testing 6.86 and calibrates itself to that.

I'm pretty sure that if I use the 7.00 liquid solution, it won't calibrate itself properly because it thinks it is reading 6.86 ??

These are my instructions for calibration.

IMG_20220110_165631.jpg

I'm pretty sure that the liquid buffer solutions won't work for my meter ?

It would work fine with a manually calibrated meter.
You would just turn the dial until it reads 7.00
