The closet plant is coming along.

She is foxtailing everywhere but mostly on the top of the main cola.

I'm debating on when to harvest my plant.

I really grew out the last plant and it turned out great.
I'm not sure how much more weight it packs on by going extra long because it's kinda hard to tell.

I think I'm going to ignore the trichs and just let her grow and start nuting her again.

I didn't notice anything wrong with the last plant and me and other people said that it's awesome.

I'm in no rush to finish the plant so I might just grow it for 16 weeks or more.
I think it just keeps getting better the longer it grows.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping.

I figure most of the leaves should die off when it's ready?
I won't look at new pistils when I try judge its ripeness.

I remember when I chopped half the plant and let the rest go for another month and it just wouldn't stop foxtailing.

I'm guessing that a plant grown for a long time has a lot less chlorophyll in it.
I figure that the plant would use it up and convert it as it dies.

I don't like trimming or burping jars and when I heard that some really good weed isn't cured at all, I decided to skip the curing.
That has the added bonus of helping to avoid mold as well.

That's how I did my last plants and I don't get any smell or taste of "hay" like crappy uncured weed.

I'm questioning about the flushing at the end of flowering as well.

There is some science saying that there is no actual chemicals in the plant.
It apparently all gets turned into plant material and why starve your plant of what it needs to make buds and resin.

I mostly want to flush my soil to wash out salts but it's hard to judge by the trichomes when to start flushing.
Now I'll start flushing when I get tired of waiting and flush for two weeks.

Starving her of nutes may help to get her to finish?

Cool !!
I didn't realize that my sticky traps catch regular house flies too.

I don't care if they get on my plant, but they got into my kitchen garbage last summer and I had hundreds of maggots that crawled up and out of the can and were all over the floor too.
It all happened in one day.

They certainly propagate like fungas gnats.

PCBuds That Dark Devil tends to foxtail, it looks pretty close to done to me. I would take it within the week IMO.

Sampas92 That plant looks done to me, the majority of the pistils have receded and the cylax/bracts are swollen.

OK, I'll switch back to plain water.

Every plant that I've grown with the strips has foxtailed.

The "trunk" of the "tree" is all purple again too, as well as some purple stripes on the branches.

The parts of the branches that were shaded are still green.

So she's got a sunburn too.

I'll post some more pictures but my hosting site is having issues and it's still confusing to upload to this forum.

I checked the plant and I only saw a single amber trichome.

How long does it normally take to go from about 1% amber trichs to 30% or 70% ?

Would you think a week or too of just water would do any harm ReikoX ? I ask because some tops still have a bunch of white pistils and seem to need a bit of more time

I wouldn't wait for amber personally. An amber trichome is one that has gone too far IMO. I like to think of it like a Bell curve, where the majority of the trichomes are cloudy while a few outliers are either clear or amber. IMO, clear is not ripe yet, cloudy is ripe, and amber is over ripe. I suppose if you like sedative weed, going to amber might be desirable.

It won't harm anything waiting longer if you like. Its all personal preference, but many autos will continue to push out fresh pistils and never really stop. Again I like to judge the plant by what a majority of is looks like, not just a single branch here or there.

OK, thanks.
I trust your opinion.
And it's your daughter so I want what's best for her. Lol

I did see a lot of clear trichs.
Should I expect an equal amount of clear and amber within a week ?

I can also flush my planter after I harvest too.

What's your opinion about flushing the plants?

I figure that if you can give your plant nute burn, then it's pulling chermicals to the leaf tips causing the burn.

So a plain water flush makes sense, so that the plant can use up any excess that could be built up.

That's basically what that French guy was saying that I referred to in my thread.

He just looks at the plant to make his judgment, but he doesn't check trichomes.

The sucky part for me is that it's hard to look at the entire plant as a whole because of the foxtailing.

I don't really care about the foxtailing, but it's hard to judge the plant by looking at it.

Even with the loupe, I will see clear trichs on the newly formed pistils.

It feels like I need to dig inside a cola to get a mature sample to look at.

My window plant has sprouted a lucky mystery plant as well !!??

I wonder what it is ?

It looks like grass.
Maybe it's Kentucky Blue grass?

I do have some grass seed in the shed. Lol

I think that maybe the stretch is done...

That's good.
It gives me some time to assess things.
Maybe I don't have to top it or super crop it or anything...

I'm thinking about letting her top/super crop herself by just letting her grow into the light if she wants to?

I wouldn't have to do anything.
