When i saw your pic when you said " i snaped it" i almost felt the need to cry kkkkk
Either way that fucking tree is looking beautifull how many watts total buds?200?

Luckily, I've got lots of weed and I don't take it too seriously, but I should have just left it alone. Lol

I just measured it and it's 312 Watts from the wall running the power supplies, which is a pretty fair comparison to a SIL. (which also includes the power consumed by the driver.)

I've got them turned up a bit past the test current.
That means I need 312 grams to get a gram per Watt.

Hmm...
That's 100 grams more than my last plant.

I think it's still possible, as long as I don't break any more parts off of her. Lol

Just thinking about it,... what I've got is pretty much equivalent to having 31 ten Watt SILs in my closet, but I don't think I could pull that off?

Even if I were to say, glue a bunch of SILs to cookie sheets, they would still need a lot more space between the SILs and the plant, probably at least 2".

I've got some leaves rubbing up against the strip shields that are less than 1/4" from the LED chips.

That leaf shows no signs of light or heat stress.

She's loving it !!

I'm a real big fan of spreading out the light and heat.

I do have the heat of the drivers outside of the closet which helps a lot, but the LED chips being well spread out helps a lot too.

I think 4 flat screen TV's set to a white screen and hung on the walls would make an awesome grow cab !!

It might even be cheaper than 4 quantum boards ?

The top of my closet plant dried right up and got crispy, so I broke it off and smoked it.

It was pretty good.
I tasted different but I can't describe it.

Actually, the taste I thought that I noticed was the taste in your mouth right after you take a big sip of Coca-Cola ?

I guess it will depend on wich sils you use.. if u use the 1521lm version, 31, even in side lighting and from the bottom i think thats alot..

Today i tried to make the smaller cab my mom/clone cab, even rig the lights for it, not a cookie shit cause i dont have silicone but in the next time
picture.php

Ended up not doing anything because i dont have the space for 2 levels in the bigger cab with proper spacing between the girls and the lights, i need to get a smaller heater

My 11" strips are 1230 lumens at test current and I've got them cranked a healthy dose past that.
Possibly 1400 lumens or more each?
(my last grow was 240 Watts, at test currents.)

Wait until your plants are done before you rebuild the cabinet.

Build your cookie sheets as a separate independent project.
Take your time and don't blow shit up. Lol

I think you do have the space in the bigger cab.

You don't need much up above for babies.
The heat from below will be nice for them.

You could put a heater outside the cab and blow the heat in, or wait until spring when you don't need a heater at all.

Don't give up or get discouraged.
Think on it, sleep on it, and reassess tomorrow.

Think of it as more of an art project, as opposed to a science project.

I dunno, maybe it's just me but when I start thinking about having to add heaters to a LED grow, it starts me thinking that maybe straight LED isn't the best option. Makes more sense to me to add a bit of HID to a LED grow instead of a heater, so you get the radiant heat from the HID light, plus the nice additional byproduct of photons.

Yeah, that makes sense, but I like my heater...

Cheap and easy, and I already had everything.

I just turned it down to 60 Watts because I have 312 Watts up above.
(I unscrewed a bulb.)

I thinked about it, some 75w hid, but then i also thinked that i need the heater at lights out. I think in the end i save a bit of more money..if i could get hands on a 75w cmh i wouldnt think not even once before buying it, hps i dont think they had much to the grow, but in the end i always need the heat at night time or they would be at 10~15c,my newbie :2cents:

buds dont think in lumens when you compare them..
If you place a cob, a sil, and your strips side by side with the same lumen output you would get different results because how they emmit the light, so you thinking in lumens is not accurate..
Im not disapointed, i will not give up and im eager to full spring to start and summer, more space and more time to prepare for winter :D
Unfortanly i dont have with the heater in there, i tried it, it didnt work. I saw a very small heater, low cost too in the mall the other day, it think is ceramic or some shit like that, if it doesnt get red hot i think is excellent for my grow

I've decided that when my closet plant is done, I will get off my lazy ass and coat my ceiling strips with conformal gel...

Then I can just let my plant grow into the strips.

She can burn herself on the lights as long as she doesn't burn out my strips.
The gell will protect the LED segments.

You might consider switching your lights on time to the night times and lights off during the days. That way you might not need to heat during lights off, but of course you would need a bit of extra heat during lights on. HPS is a proven light source for growing cannabis for decades, albeit not the most efficient these days with modent LED innovations. cmh is great if you're running the 315w square wave low frequency ballasts, but with traditional magnetic ballasts cmh is less efficient watt for watt than hps, those type of cmh only have a more natural looking spectrum.

I have a 400watt old school magnetic ballast that I can run a 400w hps lamp or a 400w philips mastercolor retrowhite cmh lamp in, and the hps puts out more photons, but much more of them in the red range of the spectrum. In a week or two I will swap the hps lamp out for the cmh to finish up flowering under the bluer spectrum, albeit with less photons for the same wattage.

As far as I remember physics, a photon with a higher frequency contains more energy.

A bluer spectrum will have less photons but contain an equal amount of energy.

UV has such a high energy that it will burn your leaves and your skin.

High frequency sound waves can wreck your hearing with very low power.

I suggest that high frequency light waves have the same potential damage.

I don't think I'm seeing it wrong,
And neither is my plant.

They either emit their light from a single point or from many points.

I don't care about lux, and the proximity to the light source.

I care about the total number of photons entering my grow space.

Some are lost to the floors and walls, but most of them hit the plant.
(and the basil. lol).

I will do the math tomorrow when I'm sober.
Lol

There's a lot of light in there.

If I were you, I'd attach those four bulbs to the bottom of the planter, with coat hangers and duct tape, facing up towards the plant.

I get the point, but at that time i just thinked, if i need to heat during lights off i will heat it 24/7..with the schedule that you said i would need to heat during lights out..plus im a bit afraid of hps, paranoias.
The heater is plugged to a hygrometer so is not always on..i spend very little electricity this way..

Always learning indagroove thank you :tiphat:
