hey aero ;), well i did consider that. You're sort of changing my mind immediately. It probably is the best play to send those bitches into flower right away. Its going to mean an absolutely mammoth tieing down session which is probably the job i resent the most - even more than bud trimming. I'm too wasted to do anything right now so i'll sleep on it, cheers.

Ah no not yet scrub but i'm going to try it on the old bud that is now hidden underneath all that leaf. the bud itself is way denser than when i left it on but this surely has so do with all the new leaf growth in it. hopefully water cure will improve the taste by taking most of it away!

...and what i managed it snip out of there. Its pretty shitty looking!

and my first attempt at water cure.

this is the grim reality of trying to tie them down! Would be so nice to have enough height that this wasn't necessary.

There is absolutely gazzilions of really flimsy shoots, will be interesting to see how it flowers. I've put in flower nutes too and will switch the lights off first time this morning for 12/12.
There is also some really fungal compost tea ive been brewing for 2 days and i added about 500ml of that stuff. I'm absolutely sure the chem nutes are not good for the microbiology but i havent yet got my act together on trying the organic dwc i talked about before. After this harvest ill have enough of a reserve supply to try out some new experiments but until then it will have to wait i think. ;(

I forgot to add and wanted to say that the above process i finished just now and it took me about 4 hours! Doesn't look like 4 hours work i know - bloody hell microgrowing is a fuckload of time consuming work! You just gotta keep reminding yourself its all worth it!

Cool! can't wait to see this bud out again. Every time I have re-budded a reveg (couldn't find a good way to say it) it has come out way heavier and frostier for some reason. Should have done this to the aero PC but I wanted to change strain.

Great stuff

I was wondering that should some of those shoots be cut off? Don't take it even as suggestion, just mere speculation. There looks to be quite many.

Just some advice on the water cure.

You need to put something on top of the buds to sink them to bottom.

And make sure the jar is not covered!

I tried to find some info on water curing after reading it here. All I could find was that reduced taste generally, good and bad. Anyone care to dish out a brief overview?

True. You only really need to weight them down the first day too, I found. And be as gentle as you can at all stages, no shaking or agitating, even when refilling.

Brief overview: it smokes more like hot air and seems stronger thc to me. Leaves brilliant white ash, far whiter than jar cure and burns really well. Probably best for medical patients, or someone who smokes weed in public a lot, or someone who buys questionable weed off the street, or someone without the facilities to air dry them smell free.

At home I would smoke jar cured 100% of the time no question. But if I were going to the beach, it would be a whole 'nother story.

So as I smoke outside my house with neighbours blantantly getting the odd whiff this might be worth further investigation. So you put the green in water carefully, with the lid off. Topping up the water carefully as it evaporates then what? How long do you do that for? You then have to dry it as normal presumably!

There's some good threads on it mate. In the harvesting and curing section. But you tip the water out each day, then refill. I do it once per day for 7 days. Some people change twice a day the first day or two because the water is just so unbelievably stained and gross looking.

To dry it you will need to crank the CFMs out. I like to place it on a screen and blow it from underneath with a 120cfm pc fan or the exhaust vent of a grow. You need a major rush of air and both times I've done it, it's taken 2 full days to dry properly. Overdo everything in the drying process and worry about restoring moisture later if it needs it. It's sopping wet bud and must be dried immediately or else mould may strike.

I should add that the fan drying can be done in the open no problem. It loses the intense dank smell.

I'm looking forward to it too, aero. Been many years but i have reveged and budded before but it was such a tiny bud, and was revegged a looong time to get it large enough.

With more bud left on this time i have got a bounty of growing shoots pretty quickly, and like you say unthing it may be wise to cut off the weaker ones and thin it out. I still have to do a proper training session and arrange the bud sites neatly. I am thinking about taking nearly all the leaves off to much much easier.

Thanks for the info on the water cure. I changed the water twice already, being careful not to agitate. The top of the jar lid has been skewered many times so it drains too. This still counts as uncovered right, mr catman?

I re-read something you wrote last night scrub and i added the discarded water into the dwc. good idea! that kind of stuff is right up my street. I tasted the liquid (didnt drink it!) using my finger and it was quite sweet... hmm. sweet and skunky of course. The dwc went quite frothy! I am already trying to think about the best place to dry it when its done. My boiler room is nice, dry and toasty.

OH, and i remember last night i noticed that one of my PLL bulbs is dead. The bulbs are obscured from me so it could have been out for a while. its the far back one. I'll change it when the lights come on tonight.

Man I know exactly what you mean! Like a sweet marijuana tea or cordial. That's fantastic you're trying it.

Try to keep the temp below 85F and definitely be sure to give it air-flow. If you don't have the constant air-flow you'll get mold very easily.

I'm gonna have to build a cardboard drying box that sucks in filtered air. No point in doing a water cure to remove the crap.... if I'm just gonna blow a bunch of dust and lint back onto it while it dries. LOL

well its certainly been a long time since my last post. Thanks for the advice hydro and others, the water curing worked out OK actually! Really havent smoked much of last harvest yet, maybe 5%! not joking, seriously it fucks me up and i only need to roll a small amount into my organic tobacco cigs, and wisely, only near bed time! I have been popping in regularly just to check out all the great stuff going on here but in truth i have been too preoccupied with the shitty stresses of life to spend as much time as i'd like here - to tell you how its been going inside the stealth pc.

Well here are some pictures for you lot. Wait... Few things to say first. After i press submit on this post i'm off to the garden pond to replace the minging water in the bubbler that hasnt been changed since i added the flower nutes a month ago. Its completely murky with decayed/ing root dust and they desperately need a fresh feed too. No matter how much i dislike it, I am growing with an inferior method to organics and I would probably benefit by maintaining the nutrient balances more strictly. They have had a nute top up once 2 weeks ago, and water every 3-4 days. I wouldnt even know if my ph meter broke because i dont bother with it at all anymore. Can i get an award for laziest hydro? One thing i do add which is free and i have plenty of is bokashi juice. This is currently my organic additive of choice, which i believe takes away much of the sensitivities and PITA factor of hydro - i.e. PH and root rot- as does compost teas but they require work to make, unlike bokashi. I wonder about that bokashi stuff... its incredibly acidic so there is a limit to how much you can add but its just juices from fermented foods. Fermentation makes the nutrients readily accessible and you also get a ton of good yeasts and bacteria in it too.

not quite as impressive as the roots of a certain Mr. Aerohead are they? hehe, that ball on the right feels like cocunut husk. Even when strait out of the water it feel fibrous and dry. Its too fucking heavy for me to lift with one hand and snap camera with the other!

it all looks alot like last time doesnt it. Next time i WILL try that organic only DWC, promise! - and hopefully only without any "organic" nute bottles

Good to see you posting again my friend!! That does look alot like last run and there was nothing wrong with that at all. Look at those monster trunks :yoinks: lol that's insane!!! Nice work with the reveg and mad props for keeping those ladies alive and healthy with all that root mass in a tiny box. Can't wait to see what you pull out of there this time...

Thankyou guys! hehe, cheesebuds: one pc is quite enough for me. Im snowed under with some seriously strong skunk from the last grow. I love to get stoned but at the same time it can be truly horrendous being stoned in the wrong situation, as i'm sure some of you have experienced! I would say i'm not a heavy smoker. That wasn't always the case - it took many many years for me to learn how to moderate my smoking so that i didn't belong in a mental institution, because it was going that way in the past! Sadly i'm one of those mentals!
