hey! people!

DW, nice bush! it doesn't look all that seedy. do you think they are viable? was it a light leak?

hi, gegessh! welcome!

JJ, thanks for the link. that whole site is excellent. there is a nutrient calculator in there somewhere.

well, i'm feeling worse every day. i got an x-ray done that shows a partial obstruction of my small intestine. it is a foreign object. pain is really intense.

about 10 days after the liver transplant my bile duct collapsed and i had to go in on an emergency basis and have a stent put in. the stent holds the duct open while it heals. about 8 weeks later they go back in and remove the stent. this all went smoothly.

about a year later my duct collapsed again and they put in another stent. two months later when they go in to remove it they find that it's not there.

when the stent comes out on it's on it falls into the stomach. from there through the small intestine and, ultimately, takes the southbound exit at the hershey highway off ramp and it's goodbye.

well, mine never made the complete trip.

i'm scheduled for a mri friday to pin down the exact location. if it is where we all think it is there is no way to get it out without surgery.

the "object" is 4" long and about 5/16" in diameter. it is shaped for easy transit but apparently mine folded up and lodged.

sometime around thanksgiving it moved from a place where it was not blocking to a place where it was.

so, i'll be out of commission for periods of time unknown.

i'm going to have to put my seed starting and light measurement program on hold for a while.

i apologize for any inconvenience i may have caused.

later, d9

Man D9, thats rough. This is one of those time I wish I was a religious person. They always have something to say at times like these.

Since I'm way past my sacrificing virgins days, I'll have to settle for sending good karma your way...

get well soon,
OO

Take care of yourself first and foremost. I hope it is removeable by other than surgical means.

Good luck!

Everything will be here when you get back.

Wow D9, tough run of luck. Liver transplant itself sounds like it's good, and yet you end up chasing some "little" related but unrelated thing through your body. Best of luck! Good thoughts headed your way!

That bush is seeded heavy even though you can't see em too much. They are huge huge huge seeds too! Bigger than any other weed seeds I've seen. I've germed 5 of them so far and they actually look good. This all came about because the Kushage I grew hermed BAD. End of flower nanners confirmed on 4 out of 5! Not sure what to make of that. No light leaks whatsoever and they hermed on two separate runs, one from seed and one from clones of the seed plants. Not sterile either...sucks... Any seeds resulting will be treated as suspect - I'll use them to practice germing then kill them.

Best wishes.

If Mrs. D9 wants to update us while your out of commission, I, for one, would appreciate it.

I know you know that there isn't any reasonable way for us to help, but if something mysteriously and unexpected comes up that we might be of assistance, please ask. I am not particularly useful, but I promise I'll try my best.

Be healthy soon.

hey, everybody! i got the results of fridays scan today and the stent is in a position requiring surgery. small intestine just behind the bladder. it has one end lodged in a turn and has distended the wall of that part of the intestine, presenting the possibility of a perforation.

i'll be going in to see the surgeon and the anesthesiologist before the end of this week and should be having the surgery early next week. 3-6 weeks convalescence and i should be back on the trapeze and the trampoline again. might have to lay off the bull riding for a while.

Dam, that's a bummer. At least you know and have a date now. I hate being in limbo with health stuff. Relatively minor laproscopic jobby I hope! Good luck, hope to see you back in action sooner rather than later. :D

I hope the removal goes well for you. Sounds very unpleasant and kind of freaky (perforation, yikes!!!!) but it sounds like you've got a good plan in place for dealing with it.

Best wishes!!!

Dam it, I just typed a long post and then screwed it up. I hate it when that happends.

Bottom line:
1. D9, hope all is well.
2. I now have 2 PPK's running. Awesome. Boring. ;)
3. I trimmed a popcorn bud tonight. Meh... :D:D

Lol, not the biggest on the plant either. It's from a SS AK47 - 1 of 2 phenos I'm trying to narrow down to 1.

hey, people! thank you all for your support! i've been getting scans and tests done. just laying around in pain, waiting!

my meeting with the surgeon was interesting. one of the scans showed that the stent was involved somehow with a twisted section of small intestine and that the intestine in that area is really weak.

so, they are going to remove about a foot of my intestine with the stent.

5-7 days in the hospital and then recovery.

if weed did not exist i would find it necessary to invent it at this time.

DW, nice dense looking bud you got there! you are going to enjoy all the free time you are going to have growing the ppk way.

there is one positive note to all this medical crap. while they were checking me out they found that i have pubic lice. you know, crabs. luckily, they have developed a foolproof eradication program.

you shave a path in the middle and then pour lighter fluid on the remaining pubes and light them on fire. when the crabs run across the clearing you stab them to death with an icepick. foolproof!

talk to you all in about a week, d9

DW, you popcorn looks like my crop.

Somehow, I'm kinda bitter about that.

D9, good to hear from you. Best wishes.

I'm not bitter about that.

BTW, you account has shown activity lately... are you holding out on us, or it the infamous lady D9 making sure all is right in IC world?

BTWBTW, that crab regime works like a dandy. And if you pre-dip the ice pick/spears with henna, you get a free pubic tattoo.

Who wants pics?

Um... DevilWeed... if choosing this pheno or another is a problem, I am envious...

I have not had a chance to catch up yet, but I am wondering what the latest ideal mods are for the ultimate ppk? It is time to set-up the next round of experimentation. I have to start reading back, just after the pulse feed was incorporated.

My variation has been dissapointing. I went wrong trying to incorporate the continuous feed/spit of the O2 driven spider feeder with Osmocote Plus (100% Perlite, Microfiber wick, ph'ed H2O). It is too time consuming trying to keep the ppms down, which also drives the ph down. I do believe it would work alot better with Jacks or GH.

:tumbleweed: I hope you are well, D9.

Alright if I understand this right, the PWT is only effected by height. Because of this the width of the media wick doesn't matter.

So if that is true would a 15 inch high container with a 5 inch media wick function the same as a 20 inch container?
