Lots of branching everywhere, but no pistils yet. Everything is stretching too. I had to switch off the CFLs; the plants were growing into them and a few leaves got burnt. Strictly halide and LED now. :) The plants seemed to 'pray' to the CFL light, but not to the halide. Interesting...either way, they're still growing well! This is the easy part of the grow cycle. All I have to do is keep them hydrated and add a little worm castings/neem/Plagron fert. Gave two plants a little Indonesian bat guano today too. I should really just leave them alone for three days now...

Smoked so many bowls in the last 24 hours I've lost count, and I don't feel like smoking anymore. Growing your own rocks. :D

One foot from the top of the largest plant in the middle. I run air conditioning and use a 4" centrifugal fan and scrubber to pull out the heat, and I have a 4" active intake fan. Negative pressure in the tent, so no smell whatsoever. ;)

Once they stop stretching, I'll switch the 250W MH bulb out for the 400W HPS and dial the ballast up, and then I'll switch back to MH for the last two weeks. :)

My Ice Cream mom was growing into the other plants, so I removed five branches and some smaller shoots that were shading the other plants. It is drinking like crazy, and roots grew through the bottom of the Smartpot into the saucer underneath. It is rootbound, big time. I could keep it well hydrated with two Blumats, but I decided to clean up and improve the airflow in there since I HATE losing bud to mold, and it's humid here. There are three solid branches left, but now all of the branches on all of the plants are getting great light.

The branches smelled like kulfi, an Indian ice cream made with saffron and pistachios. Not what I expected at all! There is also a hint of heavy indica funk that I quite like. Nice combination!

I put three cuttings into seed starting mix...let's see if I can take some clones on 12/12! I may have to start a little mom cabinet.

Ill vote Satori. No clue about it, but when the name comes up many members speak fondly of it.

Satori and BtB are both excellent strains that everyone likes because they open their third eyes and just make life better. Well, pot always makes life better, but they're supposed to be pretty special! :) I will actually go with the strain with the most votes. If it's a tie, I'll flip a coin. I'm looking to run five plants from any of the strains, and since most are regular, I will make some beans for future pheno hunting. ;)

Only the DM is feminized on the list above...I couldn't get a regular version as it's sold out everywhere. Even the fem version was a little hard to find!

Everything has shown sex...all the Ice Cream is female and the Skunk #1 is female too. They're still stretching. Hopefully the mom will produce well now that she only has three tops instead of eight! If I'd let her she would've happily taken over the tent.

Considering picking up a small (15 x 15) tent for vegging in.

Switched the bulb out for a 400W HPS today. Everything is putting out pistils, slowly but surely. Boy, that's a lot of light after the weeks of 250W MH!

MH is hotter than HPS at the same wattage (e.g., 1000W MH:1000W HPS). I don't have a thermometer, but the 400w HPS is much hotter than the 250W MH for sure. All have to do to compensate is dial up the scrubber and keep the air conditioning on and the heat is taken care of, but power consumption goes up...

I see the start of lots of future colas today. :) I worked some castings into the mix in each pot, along with a little high P Indo guano and some kelp. Watered to activate it with aza and neem, and watered the plants that needed it. The plants are all doing well and have lots of room for their roots in the Smartpots (well, aside from the mom).

I'm probably going to hold off on a veg tent for now as I only need to keep a few cuts alive. I'll plug in one or two CFLs and just leave clones under them to root and veg a little.

As for the strains up above, I just wanted to add Beyond the Brain is a limited edition offering from Mandala. I really need to do a seed run. Once it's gone, it's gone! For now, though, all of my beans are in the fridge.

Thanks 944, by the looks of it I am going to be running Satori! :) The Nebula definitely sounds good too and will definitely get a whirl.

Satori is ahead by a good margin! The Beyond the Brain is Satori (which is a Nepalese Sativa crossed with an indica or hybrid) crossed with a Colombian/Haze. BtB is a more sativa Satori.

Everything is still stretching, but lots of new branches everywhere. My first clone has overtaken its mom and is around 20". I think they may finish stretching a little too tall for optimum light penetration--time will tell.

The tent is getting funky, but the negative pressure and scrubber are keeping the odor and heat down very well. The root aphid population is way down and the plants are doing great! I'll be headed out of town again in a few weeks, but I have Blumats now. I think I could step away for two weeks without issue with the Blumats! I am going to have to raise some of my LEDs, though, as the tops on the mom are getting pretty close. The Ice Cream is doing much better than the autos!

Fifteen days since I switched, and this is how they're looking:

They are pretty much flourishing under the HPS!

Baby Ice Cream tops. They're nearing two feet and should be there in a day or two!

Right on man! They are loving it. Why is it that going bigger/getting better always makes us want to go bigger and better? Growing is definitely an addiction.

These girls are getting taller every day--I'm starting to worry a little! I see what may be heat stress on my tallest female. I appear to be raising my lights an inch a day. I have another foot and a half to go, so I should be good, but I don't know when they're going to stop stretching!
