Here is another excellent choice for low noise - Fantech FG 4 inline fan:

This moves 135 cfm for only 20 watts of electricty, with both ends attached to ducting it's nearly silent. You can get a speed adjuster to lower it down to make it even quieter.
I used these to exhaust/filter the closets in my apt. and you could stand right next to the door and hear nothing. These are exceptional fans, super efficient. smaller and quieter motors than most 4 inch fans incl. Vortex.
For example, the Vortex 4 inch fan draws 80 watts instead of the Fantech's 20, so the motor's bigger and louder. To draw 20 watts and move 135 cfm is VERY efficient, Fantech rocks.
