GetMO, that looks incredible. You are putting my faith in Panama crosses!

Just found a new way to recycle, Panama branches make great replacements for bamboo stakes.

These Panamanian girls get big fast. I'll definitely cut the veg time back next time. I have a 7ft tall Panama towering over the rest of my grow at the moment. It's literally 3 times the size of the Sin Diesel that vegged 3 weeks longer than it did.

It's always hard to tell ahead of time how a plant is going to stretch. Last time I had a batch of Sin Diesels that I scrogged when I shouldn't have because I assumed they would stretch like a typical sativa. This time I decided to go back to my original plan which is to always let a strain grow naturally the first time so I can get a good feel for its structure and growth patterns before deciding how to train them but in hindsight I really should have known the Panama was going to be a beast.

She's a nice looking plant despite getting a nasty burn from growing into the lights while I was away for a weekend. I can't wait to see how she turns out.

Im glad to see nice panama hybrids around :) Panama is without any doubt an amazing breeding tool for outcrosses, the line is enough inbreed for it but still has enough genetic diversity to keep the vigour and potency high. She easily adds vigour, resistance, yield, resin production and sativa quality to all her hybrids.

right on dubi, I am pumped up for my panama cross. here are some pics of my panama male if anyone is interested. this was the one I chose out of 5 males. was most sativa looking, most vigorous growing one. I was only able to make one outcross and a supply of panama 'f2's(f7?) with it this summer. got some pollen in the freezer Im hoping remains viable for a few months

put out a clone in late June or early July, wanted it to stay semi-small

The Panama girl I have going at the moment who is at about 8 weeks into flower smells amazing. It's got the strongest, purest lemon pine-sol smell I have ever found in a plant. It even puts the super lemon haze I once grew to shame in the lemony aroma department. I can't wait to try her. In my experience lemony scented cannabis always seems to have a very upbeat effect.

Has anyone noticed a correlation between the scents and phenotypes of Ace Panama? My best guess is she is a Red leaning pheno.

I love the smell of cannabis in the morning

Ace Panama around 3 weeks. One branch is throwing pink pistils, the rest of the plant is white...

Panama day 81

Panama day 81

Hey everyone, I have some pictures of my Panama keepers. Unfortunately I had a bit of a thrips problem, and the plants were not as healthy as they could have been. However the Panama were very strong, and the thrips didn't affect the buds too much. One is a more sweet and smooth smoke, the other a more harsh citrus like flavor. The buzz of both phenotypes is great, a nice strong daytime high. I like to smoke a lot , and this stuff never slows me down. I think I prefer the smaller yielding sweet phenotype, but I had to keep both. I am a plant hoarder. I'll do a proper smoke report once these ladies have dried.

Heres the Panama x c99bx I made a while back. Great combination of the two distinct aromas, deep lemon earth with pineapple.
This one is about 3.5 weeks in

Panama - Day 71 of Flower

Panama - Day 71 of Flower

Hey, you all! Wow! I'm impressed! There are some really cool grows here.

SoF -> gorgeous!!
wingdings -> pretty!!

Here's my Panama at age 71/flowering. I'm in the process of winding her down. This is my first time experimenting with 11/13 hour light period (due to her sharing space with some other deep sativas like Zamaldelica and Malawi. Also, I've been monitoring the thread on sativa maturity and much of it echoes my own musings so I don't think I'm going to let her run much longer. Maybe another week/plus. We'll see. She's looking fine to me.

I have another Panama going - no pics yet - she was started a month later on November 4 and looks entirely different regarding her bud structure. So far, the buds are smallish, delicate and entirely slathered in resin. I'm hoping that she's a later flowering phenotype (grown from feminized seed) and gonna fill out some but so far she's a slower developing plant than the one pictured. Hopefully it's not the photo-period - I wouldn't think so as all five of her roommates are filled out very nicely. She did have a rough childhood nutritionally - didn't stunt size.

Thank you all for your updates :)

Don Dump, im glad the reproduction was successful and that the panama female did mature the seeds correctly in your climate.

Rondelia, panama really likes high levels of nutrients in flowering to produce big yields, how are the ph and ec in your growing media ?

Hatter, strong lemony aromas are quite frequent in the panama line, the red phenotypes usually have this kind of terpene profile. My favourite is the lemony incensey.

Terpene, beautiful panama red you have there, showing very strong resin production in early flowering, seems to be a nice specimen! Let's see how it finishes.

SeedsofFreedom, im glad to hear you are enjoying your different panama females and phenotypes, yes the aromas in the line vary between the more sweet and smooth central american aromas and the strong lemony incensey high quality colombian type of aroma. It's a very strong plant, that resists the pests better than other strains, her flowers produce so much resin and strong aromas that unless the problem is very serious, the pests usually don't affect too much the flowers.

wingdings, the panama x c99 cross is real interesting, looks quite panama dominant by now, the mix of earthy lemony panama aromas and c99 pineapple sounds like a great combo. Beautiful resins in early flowering, it will be a pleasure to see her development.

mayan, it's also great to see you around posting again! Beautiful and fatty panama in late flowering, it's a very classic expression in latest releases.

About Panama recently breeding, we have recently done a new panama selection, growing dozens of parental plants from 5 different panama lines (lines ranging from 2008 to 2012). We have found amazing parental plants coming from all the phenos (green, red, pink and purple, from the lowest yielding very resinous phenos to the fatter better yielding expression, from the sweet earthy ones to the stronger lemony incensey types), we have produced fresh stock from all the desirable parental plants in standard format and the very best ones have been selected for the feminized reproduction that is in the process right now. The line is in really good shape!!

I've taken down and dried my Panama and she is a true beauty. A very vigorous plant, she ended up about 6 ft tall. She produced a very large volume of light airy bud with nice frost and one of the best effects I have ever found, very upbeat and euphoric with a light dreamy quality that is top notch. It just puts me in a great mood. Lots of creative energy yet still chill and relaxing at the same time. Potency is is also excellent. As she dried and cured a bit the pure lemon pinesol aroma picked up some woody incense undertones. A really great old school style sativa.

She is my favorite keeper to date. Great for depression and migraines. She will likely retain a place in my garden for years to come. I will have to be sure to take some good photos of her next run as she is quite a beautiful looking plant. The main cola was an airy spiral of buds about 2 feet long and 6 inches thick. Here are a couple of shots of some of her bud from mid way up the plant after quite a bit of a hair cut. Like many pure sativas she is quite a handful to trim with resin that welds scissors closed like crazy glue.

Wingdings, I bet that C99 x Panama cross smokes great. I did a little pollen chucking with a really nice looking Panama male this time that involved dusting my very C99 leaning Sin Diesel keeper along with my Panama girl and some Jack Herer. I'm particularly interested in seeing how the SD genes interact with the Panamanian. I have a good feeling about that one. My SD keeper is always a very healthy plant with amazing sharp peach/pineapple aromas and the best frost I have in seen ages but the yield is so poor with that girl that she isn't even up to par for the meager demands of my personal use. With a little luck I hope the Panama lends some of her structure, vigor, yield and top shelf effect to the SD's amazing frost, shorter flower time and denser buds. The terpene profile should be amazing assuming that male Panama was anything like my female.

I had one pheno of Panama that was my favorite, it was very distinct from all the rest. It had a vanilla baked goods smell and taste, the smoke filled the room with such a wonderful smell.

Unfortunately I had to let it go because it was prone to nanners but I did get a few hundred seeds from it so I guess it's not so bad.

I just harvested the only female Panama I got out of a batch of seeds and it smells like pencil shavings, real strong cedar smell.
I got a couple of males and made seeds so hopefully next grow I'll get some of those other smells, they sound great.
