How long would it take for the pistils to turn pink, assuming they will? Am half way through week 3 at the moment...

Amazingly, to me at least, it is done with maybe 30% amber. Even quick dried (barely) with no cure at all this one will mess you up

It is moving to the warehouse grows soon. Just happened to be the biggest yielder I had as a bonus.

Found something weird on my first Panama seedlings first cutting. All the nodes have a weird bulbous blob on them as in the picture. Is this a Panama trait or a mutation or something more sinister?:

It looks and feels totally natural like it's meant to grow that way and I've seen something similar on other types of plants before, just not on a cannabis plant.

It's not a rare trait in sativa strains :) As friends say, good to hold heavy weight!

Panama is not so pinkish indoors, the red/pink color is quite more frequent outdoors, i think the trait is quite related to some kind of light spectrum or a mix of outdoor variables. But the very pinkish reddish females also show a bit of color indoors.

Edit:Wanted to get these up,busy as heck.Really impressed with how dense these long colas are, love the lemony smell, its wonderful.I have one ready to come down in about a week, with another a week behind that. Then I have one that at 70 days looks to have another 4 weeks or so to finish. Will get pics of the other three up soon.At about 6 weeks or so the Panama's were transplanted into 3 gallon pots. The first three all exploded in size of buds/colas,the long pheno stretched three to four inches above where the tops of the colas were forming. The long pheno is maybe twice the size of this plant and if it continues to fill out it will be crazy big. This is a remarkable plant and strain, stunning to take a Central American tropical and work it so that its very reasonable indoors. Most later on...

Congrats Charles :tiphat: Thanks for your kind of words. It's a pleasure to see sativas so well developed indoors, they are in good hands!

P2,P4 Chop

P2,P4 Chop

A couple of quick thoughts on these gals.First,I let them go way to long.P2 went 12 wks and could have easily been pulled when I pulled P1 a couple of weeks ago.Ends up being heavier than I intended,my mistake as their quick maturity really surprised.I will know next time. With P2 when I did the pot size increase it gave another 3-4 inches and did not look done at all, lanky stretchy with mostly all white hairs.Put the scope on it and could not find any clears anywhere.I am going to run this one again as she is stinking huge given the fact that she was an immature seedling put into flower at under 30 days. The finished product would have been much better and given better results with a week and half to two weeks shaved off from its finishing time. Also the stretch is very very manageable so next time she will get a bigger pot in veg and we will see what she does.Still great smoke, she is wonderful,I know I can do better by them.

Note on finishing times: Found that ACE's estimates on weeks to finish to be pretty accurate.Had some sneak up on me,the Malawi's are all cloudy at 11 1/2 weeks. There were others that surprised with being done quicker than expected. Thanks to ACE for honest and accurate descriptions, well done my friends:)

Nice Panamas Charles! I bought them on sale :) ...looking forward to try some Panama Red.
Were they under 600W bro? Do you think they could grow well in vertical?

Hey Brother, I had them under a 1k HPS and partially under a 600w multi spectrum bulb which the tropical gals seemed to love. This is my first run with any of these gals so with limited experience I can only tell you how they did under my set up.I think these genetics are so easy to work with that they will do well in just about any system.ACE has really tamed these Central American Sativas.

Perhaps it is context here and I do not want to misspeak about the stretch.I would defer to YoSam and his experience here but I had another 15"-20" of height to work with and found the stretch very easy to work with, again its most likely context.I am fortunate to have hoods sitting about 6'+ of height to work with. Also these were seedlings so my next run of clones I will be able to dial her in much tighter.

Take care and be safe my friends:)

In my personal experience I've seen nearly every and any strain I grew have pink pistils as a direct correlation to either consistently too high temperature (mostly pink where highest and closest to the light but not pink in other places) or consistently low night temps (pink everywhere mostly).

I think it's a temperature thing and some strains are just more sensitive to it than others but just about any strain will do it if the temps are extreme enough.

So I had a bunch of big beautiful panama gals outside that that I never saw into fruition because i live in a police state. I kept one girl at home because she was lagging behind the others so much in the spring. She must have seen into the future a disgruntled land owner destroying all her sisters and did a fake limp to save herself. I like plants with that kind of foresight. Here she is at about 8.5 weeks, looks like she'll be ready @ 10 :

Thanks for your kind of words, detailed reports and to take care so well of our genetics ;) The last 2 panamas you have posted look very colombian like. The last one looks resinous and powerful :D

Hi +Vibes, im glad you have the chance to save this one, looks real nice expression, surprisingly fast flowering and high yielding for a purple pheno. I wouldnt wait much to chop her, enjoy! ;)

Thank you for your comments my friend, much appreciated. You are a true craftsman and this strain is one of your masterpieces

P2 is my fav of this group and maybe of my run with these tropicals.Really really strong without raciness/paranoia.First I must say that my tolerance is off the charts high,so to move the dial for me its got to be pretty spectacular.Hard for me to describe as I have little experience with quality Sativas like these. There is a real pleasant soaring expansive quality that is remarkable, warm and wonderful, lots of pressure on my third eye and parts of my scalp.Warm tingly pulses running through my hands, fingers, feet, and toes.I was worried I let her go a bit too long, feels like I got her just about right, for me anyways.I wonder though if I pulled her at 10 instead of 12 weeks if the warm tingly sensations would be more electric?Looking forward to getting her dialed in:woohoo:

Regretting gifting out so many samples to friends, haha, not really.Happy to share as many folks never get the chance to try quality Sativas like these.Got plenty of clones going, can't wait to see how the more mature ones do.That is the other remarkable thing, this baby was an immature seedling put into flower, she is only going to get better.Mmmmm, can you tell I like this gal, haha.

Yup,this gal will be parked in my room for a long time, man I love this weed. I've got JGL's CG & CGxJL going right now along with an order for Punto Rosa next month. Also found a lovely delicate GT lad that looks very promising.Looking forward to introducing my new gal to some handsome lads

Panama seeds were specially developed for indoor growing, it's not recommended to cultivate them in outdoor gardens.
from the seedbou description

was wondering what was the reason for recommending against outdoor? seems like some people in this thread have had success

I have a pack of panama from a few years ago, might try find finally pop them this winter, find a nice mom. was thinking would be fun to cross the panama with early outdoor strains next summer

Had two Panamas, other 1.one branchier, other 2.one less.
Number one went down last weekend, nice harvest, but not as big as Charleys.
Second one still keeps on growing, it is going to make bigger colas. They were planted at the same time.
Not so much different looking, but different growing habbit.I mean, other one takes much longer.
Haven't tested one yet ;)
