Looks like an explosive panama, like is being a norm with the plants in your garden hehehe feel free to share it here or at CBG room, as you please. Charlie did the last fem panama breeding, i bred the last standard one ... all shared between both companies.

BTW Is a fem or standard panama seed? How are the aromas ?
Let's wait for her final resinous stage ;)

Thanks mayan :) Enjoying a lot the show here!

What can I say - she's really coming along. (I note that I have also posted in the CBG board as the genetics are the same...props to both breeders!!!) This is one beautiful strain. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking 'em.

Hola dubi!! Thanks! She is really quite remarkable. She comes from a fem pack and has an intense lemon-mint scent that is quite beautiful. She is encrusted with resin and it looks like she ain't shootin' pistils out like she was. She's at 77 days under 12/12. I'm hoping to take her at least another week, as long as things hold steady - no mold, no revegging. Her trichs are primarily cloudy, which is fine with me. I wouldn't mind a light sprinkling of amber for a little bit of gravitas but I ain't an amber freak - particularly with sativas.

BTW, I have no idea whether she is a pink or green pheno. I'm figuring green (coz I don't see no pink") but on the other hand, I have read that pink doesn't necessarily show up well indoors. One of the posts I read said that the intense mint is associated with the pink pheno. I figure it ain't gonna make too much of a difference but I understand one pheno may go longer than the other.

All of her branches have flopped over and the kola sways dangerously in the breeze. She's foxtailing mightily. Is this a variety that tends to start revegging spontanesouly?

Smells like a trainwreck but maybe with a lil bit of haze. Taste has a piney funk to it, good smoke, laid back high. Doesnt make you tired, just eases your mind, smoke a lil too much and you get the munchies. Next on my list to try:
malawi
golden tiger
and I really want some durban poison after trying and lovin it.

Is it okay to save seed from Panama? In other words, does it breed true for enough traits for it to be worthwhile, or are most of the traits heterozygous, meaning the progeny of an F2 cross would be like licorice allsorts?

The reason I ask is because I'd love to try using panama for a breeding project but don't know whether I have to spend lots of time inbreed it first.

Lastly, can anyone tell me the estimated flowering time of the purple haze x panama cross that I'm currently growing? Thanks.

hey champ ive been chasing similar info dubi has been happy to oblige, dubi has mentioned on here that the panama would be good for breeding. this is what he said to me when i was asking.

"Panama is now something between f6-f7. Honestly, it's hard to know .... charlie did most of the work, i just did 2 steps a few years back (between f4-f6 generations and using a few older parental plants) .

Panama is a highly selected line for modern concepts: dense flowers, high resin production, very high potency, moderate flowering time, very high vigour, health, early and easy outdoor maturation in moderate latitudes etc ... all traits for modern standards.... but the hybrid was developed from pure sativa tropical genetics. Charlie truely did his best with this sativa

I can not talk for Charlie but i think the concept is too keep a bit open the line, despite is f6-f7 it's still very vigorous and rarely lacks in strength, you can find the green, red and even most rare purple phenos. The shorth early straberry ones with less resin or the taller long flowering super resinous.... the line has lots to offer and each grower has plenty to choose.

New Double Thai, Malawi stock is also more inbred. Nepalese Jam is also an inbred line. Hope it helps."

well its not an f1 champ.

whos gonna make that new trainwreck f1? using double thai x panama? both should be stable enough to do the job.

also thanks dubi, i wasnt aware that green haze and purple haze where available individually from you guys, now you got me thinking "how much money have i got to spend"

and thanks for sharing that info dubi, im sue im not the only one thats interested.

cheers

Hello mayan,

Still need to wait for the smoking test but from here looks like a very nice pheno: branchy, vigorous, high yielding, high flower/leaf rati ... the lemony aromas usually produce the stronger kind of plants and is easy to find strong incense aromas after a bit curing. The red pistil traits is not so evident indoors. Enjoy her last days!! :)

Spanama

Spanama

Hey dubi...by the time you read this, Spannabis will be a memory...And so - in honor of that great occasion - I give you the late, great Spannama...Yep. Ms Panama is down at day 85. Kinda sad as we have been through so much together. Can't wait to meet her again after the Great Metamorphosis!

Her scent is heavy, sharp citrus with some mint/menthol and some dark musk undertone.

Here's some pics from the day of harvest...
