Panama

Is the purple haze x panama cross manageable indoors? I'm wondering whether I should have just gone for either the Orient Express or the straight Panama instead.

Check out my Green Haze x Panama thread, I would think the Purple would behave similarly to it. They get tall but if you use a cage or trellis, that could easily be controlled. After you flower the P.Haze x Panama I'm sure you'll be confident that you made the right choice.;)

How long Does this take to flower with no veg from seeds? about 12/14 weeks ?

Hello thugpoet,

Yes, around 11-14 weeks flowering time if you flower them directly from seed, but you'll get much better flowers and better yield just vegging them for 20 days. Hope it helps.

Panama at 50 (or so) days...

Panama at 50 (or so) days...

Have had no time for pictures or journals (sigh) but here's a couple of shots of my Panama plant. She's a beauty - at least in my adoring eyes...

attachment.php

She stands at about three feet. Beautiful structure. Compact! She is thick with bud and trichs. I can't imagine another 30 or so days - I think I'm going to have to start staking up branches. I note that I don't see any red or pink tinge so I'm figuring this is the "green panama."

Anyhow...hope y'all enjoy.

The exact panama makeup?

The exact panama makeup?

hey dubi, first and foremost i appreciate any breeder who makes time to talk to his customers. (i see it as guiding the next generation).

secondly i am a bit confused as to what todays panama exactly is. charley seems to indicate that its f6 or so, while it is not listed as an ibl? also the whole green/red phenos?

i don't like speculating but is the line panama green ibl x panama red hair ibl?

to put it in perspective im looking for what ibls i can make, to use for crosses in the future. (lol creation of ibls wtf? well it seems no one gives a shit about ibls, even for breeding)

anyway thought it would be good to make ibl's of the following,
double thai
malawi bx
panama
nep jam
+ haze, widow, super skunk, northern lights etc. from the mns crew.

seems like a bit of work on my part.

also i would like to hear dubis and charlies thoughts on the importance of ibls for breeding. no one seems interested. also i am trying to convince nevil to make a nevils haze ibl.

cheers

I didnt know you were are also playing with the panama ;) She is alweys very vigorous and usually big yielder especially under strong lights. We will know at late flowering if we have serious resinous female, usually the long flowering are very resinous. Let' see what happens ... thanks for the update!

Welcome Cannabis Fecund :) thanks for your kind of words.

Panama is now something between f6-f7. Honestly, it's hard to know .... charlie did most of the work, i just did 2 steps a few years back (between f4-f6 generations and using a few older parental plants) .

Panama is a highly selected line for modern concepts: dense flowers, high resin production, very high potency, moderate flowering time, very high vigour, health, early and easy outdoor maturation in moderate latitudes etc ... all traits for modern standards.... but the hybrid was developed from pure sativa tropical genetics. Charlie truely did his best with this sativa

I can not talk for Charlie but i think the concept is too keep a bit open the line, despite is f6-f7 it's still very vigorous and rarely lacks in strength, you can find the green, red and even most rare purple phenos. The shorth early straberry ones with less resin or the taller long flowering super resinous.... the line has lots to offer and each grower has plenty to choose.

New Double Thai, Malawi stock is also more inbred. Nepalese Jam is also an inbred line. Hope it helps.

thanks dubi.

i know its the panama thread but about the other 2 being more inbreed. is the malawi, malawi x golden tiger? or do you mean more than that? either way it still sounds good. i'm also interested in the direction you've gone with the thai like f2 etc or have you decided to use a particular parent again?

cheers

Panama - Day 67 (or so) of 12/12

What can I say - she's really coming along. (I note that I have also posted in the CBG board as the genetics are the same...props to both breeders!!!) This is one beautiful strain. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking 'em.

i luv how 2 breeders r working together to create great seed lines while being about to be two separate entities at one time. theres a few breeders out there that when put together (and their breeding plant) that could work miracles between them.

congrats to yous both.

Hello Cannabis fecund,

I think we have probably talked about it privatly but i guess is worth to share it.

The new malawi standard is killer pollinated by 3 best pure malawi male from this season (sons also from killer malawi), so new stock is malawi killer 75 %.

We have also harvested fresh F2 Golden Tiger stock, from both the fast flowering pheno and the more long flowering thai ones. And we also did a malawi killer x golden tiger backcross: Malawi x Malawi/Thai.

thanks dubi.
