Yep, last year I was lucky with the colombia but no “punta rosa” germinated. This one wanted to try some old peyote and leshaze, but there are also some pck of the first, I'll throw them out too. They are a few years old.
A ver que sale ;)

I took a few macros to check the trichomes, they still got a while to go. Green phenotypes are considerably more frosty than the colorful ones. Trichomes are perky and thick-stalked.

Really happy about your good outcome @revegeta666 those small chunky males full of flowers were really cute. Most of your females lean towards full or intermediate purple expressions, really good looking females there with plenty of resins, i'm sure the hash will be a delight :)

@El Timbo @pipeline the variegation-albinism in PCK is not a virus, we tested our PCK mothers doing that for virus at lab and the results were negative. At the beginning i thought it was something strictly related to purple PCK mother 2002 and its offspring, nowadays i'm more of the opinion that those defective genes were already present more or less at population level, although they are really strong on Purple PCK 2002 and its offspring. What it's for sure it's that such deleterious genes are stronger on the purple side of the femaly than in the green one.

In the case of the PCK released seeds (you are growing), if the variegation-albinism doesn't produce a heavy harm on the growth/vigor/health of the plant then it's not a bad thing at all, since it means its closer in genotype to Purple PCK 2002 which it's still until today is la cream de la cream of the purple expressions of this strain.

PCK male decided to throw some pistils. Chopped and juiced.

Disappointing, was hoping to use the pollen. Oh well, better to know now than down the line.

Mutants, hermies, a couple really small and slow.. not super stoked on the PCK I have to say. But in fairness I have been putting them to the test, mainly with cool temps.

One plant does seem promising and appears to be a girl. It's all on her now.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience @goingrey :( It's always disappointing to get an hermie plant when you are looking after that plant :(

Like most pure indica inbred lines, PCK does not produce in pure form heavy yields or overpowering effects, but the line has many great quality traits such as colors, mold and pest resistance, excellent quality and diversity of terpenes, kind quality effects, great resins, easiness of cultivation, etc .... that breeders cherish and love to play with. I only grow pure PCK like as a delicacy or rarity, but if i want to to enjoy the best traits from PCK such as colors, resins and terpenes, with stronger, more complex and longer lasting effects (and other traits), then i choose a PCK F1 hybrid showing strongly these PCK desired traits, but with plenty of hybrid vigour and yield. As @Hmong correctly pointed also in the practice by first hand experience, best results come in my opinion by crossing a really good pure sativa of long cola flower structures and approx 12 week flowering time with PCK in a direct sativa/indica F1 hybrid.

I really encourage you to keep exploring the line, landraces sometimes need bigger populations to find those special plants that are worth to keep and use for breeding. And not all the people like this line, but most love PCK.

PD: And correct! siete from Cannbioben and writer of the book you mention was the person who originally collected this particular Chitral line in Pakistan in the 90s and introduce her into the western cannabis breeding scene.

I really like PCK. The highest-quality indica that I've grown and smoked.
It has low vigour and yield, potency is just good, but the effect and flavours are top notch. Body is pleasantly relaxed while the mind is invigorated. Heady in a smooth way (the darker phenos), the green one was stronger in a more usual heavy way. They're as heady as a 50/50 sativa/indica hybrid, but in a clean and smooth way. I grew outdoors an almost black pheno, and while it's not as frosty and potent as the more purple-red-green phenos, both its effects and flavors are exquisite. Very clean and pleasant, happy effect. Blissful in higher dose. And motivating to write reviews online :) Rich hash, berries and flowers flavour.
Didn't have any herm issues with started 7 plants and grown-to-finishing 3 females and 2 males.
I'm happy to have produced little amounts of the following seeds that I'll surely play with in the next seasons:
green PCK female x green PCK male
purple PCK female x dark hashy PCK male
black PCK female x dark hashy PCK male
I also used the same dark hashy PCK male for the following:
Zamaldelica x PCK
China Yunnan x PCK
and the back-cross Purple Mexican x PCK (where Purple Mexican is PCK / Oaxacan, don't know which of the 2 is the mother for this fem release from Cannabiogen); this particular Purple Mexican plant that I keep a clone of is very PCK-dominate, but with hybrid vigour+yield and potency. More spices and lavender than pure PCK. I have really high hopes for the backcross.

This season I'll grow outdoors one Purple Mexican x PCK and one China Yunnan x PCK.
I've already smoked small tester plants of Zamaldelica x PCK, China Yunnan x PCK and black PCK x PCK. And the dark PCK male doesn't disappoint!

My pakis came down today at day 61 of flower. They stank the whole house. Most of them smell like some variant of berries, coca cola, black grapes, similar to most Pck crosses I tried so far. I was surprised there were a few of them with a very aggessive fuel/solvent smell that I wasn't expecting. Production is frugal but resin is very generous. I'm rambling cos I'm tired, sorry. A few pics at random, it's been a very long day:

Sounds really good, looks like some winner phenos! Stank up the whole house, those are going to smoke pretty good I bet! Sounds like good medicine.

Let them dry down slow and cure, preserve those terps! :smoke:
