Strain/Breeder: KC 33/KC brains
Harvest time: Oct. 6(sativa pheno group) Sept. 26 for indica pheno
Latitude of grow: 38
Location: appalachia
Average yield: Big plants(sativa) big yield 22-28 oz
Mold?: very good resistance
Potentcy:8.5
Year of grow 2001-present

This plant has been a staple for me for years. There are 2 main phen0's with this strain but i only grow the sativa or lime green pheno and cull the darker indica pheno. The indica pheno is potent and finishes up to 10 days earlier but i don't enjoy the dull lethargic effect from it. The sativa or lime green pheno is top notch. I suspect the reason you see breeders such as shanti and others use this strain is due to the vigor of the sativa pheno. You cant kill her. Ive grown gorilla for years and this plant is one of the few strains i know of that can be planted and left to its own defenses and return in september to find a 10' monster. Grade A outdoor.

I only had one female of this plant so i cant talk about variation, but the one pheno i had was a nice plant, grew with no problems or pest issues. Good vigor. Initial results were good enough for a real attempt in the future.

This was a strange looking strain to me- the buds looked almost like a head of oats. It never had any smell just a hay type smell after cured. No smell period! Strange. The potency was ok, christms tree at 6'. Not my cup of tea. Mindless/ spacey high

I couldn't believe how potent this plant is and the stone is disableing. insomnia, pain, overthinking will all be helped by this strain. Norther growers will need one of the fungicides to grow it but its worth it. Compact growth, 5'

thanx to the starving deer, I was only able to finish this one autoflowerer pheno. I dont know what the non pheno would do. I feel it could get mold due to the construction of the buds. Very branchy. good vigor. This was the second auto i tried last year. It wasn't as good as the BSNL but still wasn't bad. It was worth the 50 bucks

Mold?: Grown it a few times / never seen any
Potentcy:8 good indica stone with cure A 6 at chop

To me early girl is the ultimate stealth plant. Its one bud 4' tall, you can hide it easily. Its one of the earliest finishers ive grown but i dont believe this plant to be an auto. Hardy, but yeild is never to big. With a good cure its really pretty potent.

Strain/Breeder: Hindu Kush/ sensi
Harvest time: Sept. 30
Latitude of grow: 38
Location: app
Average yield: 7 oz / good but not a big plant
Mold?: nnone
Potentcy:7 after 60 days - a 4 at chop
Year of grow 2007

I wasn't impressed with this plant. Dark green with big fat leaves, about 5' but not a lot of visible crtstals. A week after chop we tried it and i just didn't get a buzz. I smoke a lot and for along time but nothing. My wife and friends said they liked it but nothing for me. It improved with some cure and at 6 months she might spank me but it hasnt been 6 yet and right now shes a 7. Short lived buzz too.

Edit: june o8/ I wanted to come back and reconsider my initial assessment of this plant. I set my jars of this strain aside and didn't touch them again until may, nearly 7 months later. The smoke at that point was much better, with a spicy/almost peppery taste. At this stage of cure, I would assess the potency of the plant at 7+. My final assessment would be this. The plant is strong, stocky, healthy and grows easily without any issues. This would probably ge a very good plant for breeding purposes, but for the grower buying 10 seeds hoping for a quick crop of good smoke, this aint the place.

Strain/Breeder: Maple leaf Indica / sensi
Harvest time: sept. 30
Latitude of grow:38
Location: app
Average yield:6-8oz per plant
Mold?: never
Potentcy:a good solid 8
Year of grow 2002 til my final days

I love affies and searched and searched for that special one similar to the afghai hash that i got years ago and then i found this girl. I am one who is lucky enough to have found my holy grail. Warm, sweet, syrypy, narcotic euphoria, it starts witha warmth and a smile and ends with sweet dreams. Ive grown so many strains and each year i end up just happy to have the ML. She just doesn't have an affie equal in my view. 100% affie and even though sensi says it is an f1, it is the offspring of 2 closely related afghani strains, you cant tell an f2 group from an f1 group.

Its misinformation by sensi to assert that this is an indoor strain only. It performs great outdoors in my enviroment. I don't think you can place this strain in a condition that will result in mould. 2 years ago, we had 19 " of rain from Sept 15- Oct. 15. I left one plant out during that period just to see and on 10/16, not a spec. Doesn't need much fertilizer, and does well in drought. I just cant say enough good about this strain.

Edit: These pictures are not from last year, they are from this year. I thought they might add something for those wanting to grow the strain

Strain/Breeder: ICE / Female seeds
Harvest time: Pheno 1- Sept 21/ pheno 2-Oct 3
Latitude of grow:38
Location:appalacia
Average yield: Pheno 1 yielded well, untopped 7'-10oz/ pheno 2 yielded less-8
Mold?: none
Potentcy:8
Year of grow:2007
Outdoor Rating: 8

I found this strain to be quite vigourous and well suited to the outdoors, no real problems at all. 2 pheno.s, No.1, the better yielder was a really nice plant, good yield and the smoke potent, a good solid 8 and frankly for the price, impressive. The second pheno hac vigor but was stalkier with a lower yield and more afghai looking buds than pheno1. Pheno 2 was just as potent just less attractive due to lower yield and longer finish. There were no males, hermies, male flowers or seeds that i could find in the 5 i grew. 100% germination of 5 seeds and all five survived to harvest grown gorilla. No real care. For the money, this is a decent outdoor strain. I wish I had some seeds from Pheno 1. A good buy.

Strain/Breeder: Mikado/ Federation
Harvest time:Nov. 6
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:appalacia
Average yield: Pretty good, 8-12 0z per plant
Mold?: no, good resistance
Potentcy:9
Year of grow:2007
Outdoor Rating: Depends on where you live, you decide

I had heard a great deal of clamor about mikado so I took the leap. This is a pretty strain, leaves are an aqua green( blue?) and because of that, it probably sticks out like a sore thumb from the air . I grow mostly from seed and this was no diff. I started with 12 seedling which resulted in 7 females, good ratio and the plants grew well with acceptable vigor. Every single plant looked identical with zero variation. The only differences were in. height, from 4.5' -7' . the plants had no problems with pests or disease. The plant is not as drought resistant as I like and responds poorly to low moisture.

I didn't see my first flower on any of the female until Sept. 11. This freaked me out because as the description stated that this plant was 80% indica to finish by sept 30. Since I am at 38, I usually beat most canadian and dutch finish times by a week or more. I expected to harvest this plant on Sept. 20. Even at Sept 11, if this was a 45 day strain i thought i was ok. First avg frost date for me is 10/14, and really Im ok untill the 25th or so. I chopped this strain on the 6th of Nov. because the weather forecast said this is it.

Conclusions: The only thing indica about the plants I grew was the stone, which was significant. Every other aspect of the plant screamed sative , with the exception of heighth. Long, tthin leaves,(8"X1/2"!!), Ive seen Thai with fatter leaves. Long arching branches that filled in over time. The plant I grew was a 12 week flower. At first, I though I had been sent the wrong sees by the bank but in fact i had purcased 2 packs, one from HD in canada and one from SB. You folks decide.

Strain/Breeder: AK 47 / Serious seeds
Harvest time: Oct. 15
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:app
Average yield: so so. 6 oz
Mold?: 5-10% somewhat succeptable
Potentcy:8.5
Year of grow:2003
Outdoor Rating: 5, touchy in my enviro

I vegged these plants for 45 days before setting them out so I feel they were probably a little bigger than avg. Finished out as a single cola dominate plants at 7'. Not good vigor for gorilla and the bugs hurt her. Caterpillars, grasshoppers and leafcutters like her. Good sativa leaning high for those who enjoy that. She might be a one hitter indoors but not for the wild and willy from my view.

Strain/Breeder: White Widow / Dutch Passion
Harvest time: Oct 2
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:app
Average yield: 5-6oz
Mold?: not really but it will, id watch it if conditions warrant
Potentcy:8.5
Year of grow:2003
Outdoor Rating: 7

This is a single cola dominate strain that grows to about 5'. It did fairly well outside but again, bugs will woop her. While she grows reasonably well outdoors, shes not one I would gorilla grow with. In the back yard, across the field where you can tend to her a bit and shes ok. Above average potency but not much on taste. I popped 6 seeds and got 5 females and one runt.

Strain/Breeder: Hollands Hope/ DPassion
Harvest time: Oct. 3
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:app
Average yield: heavy, 12-24 oz
Mold?: never, good resist
Potentcy:5 at chop. 8 at 90 days
Year of grow:2003//05/07
OUtdoor rating: 8.5

I grow this strain every so often. Ive come to grow fems the last 2 grows and they were easy. I start fems outdoors and leave them outdoors and i never seem male floweres or hermies and I have never had either with this strain. The femmed seeds produce consistent plants that are huge under good conditions. The only drawback to this strain is the cure dependency. When first chopped she aint much. A little age brings her on though and its just as the description says, a knock out. The buds turn purple late.

This is a fairly good outdoor plant. Not too vigourous, I probably wouldn''t gorilla grow her. Otherwise, 2 phenos. one shorter and more indica with much more visible frost than the other, dark green, lanky pheno . Again, the taller, lankier pheno has afghani type buds which reduce its yield.

Strain/Breeder: Sensi Star /Paradise
Harvest time: Oct. 10-30th

Average yield: 10 oz
Mold?: You better watch her in my enviro especially the last 10 days . I usually have 1 application of greencure
Potentcy:9
Year of grow: Shes a regular since 2002.

This is my second favorite strain and 2nd only to Maple leaf. Shes more potent than the ML but for me, once you have a good solid 8, its all about affect. There are severak pheno's with ss I'm not picky about the pheno, the indica pheno finishes Sept 25- Oct1 here and the sativa can be much later, the indica will mold easier and is hard to trim but will knock you onto the couch. Shes a party killer. The sativa pheno resist mold a little but don't misunderstand, with my humidity and dew she'll mold in the end. It can be a late finisher. Nov 1
The plant has decent vigor and if it werent for her molding tendencies, I would grow her gorilla but now I grow her in locations where I can visit her bi weekly for a little tlc.

One of my favorite strains and in my opinion, one of the top five indica strains available. Wonderful breeding.

Edit: These pics of young SS are from O8. She always has the biggest leaves of any strain i grow. I will post some of SS in flower later in the year.

These pics were taken July 1, 08

Here is a very rare sativa pheno. Potent

Strain/Breeder: Endless sky / Dr. Greenthumb
Harvest time: Oct 2
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:appalachia
Average yield: Heavy, can produce a pound
Mold?: good resistance, none
Potentcy:10 The most potent indica strain i am aware of
Year of grow:2004/06
Outdoor Rating: 10

This is the biggest single cola dominant strain i know of . Ive grown 4 females out and 3 were over 7'. Its a wonderful gorilla strain because of its shape. Usually a plant that will produce a pound of weed is a huge bush. This girl is slender. Mold resistance is astounding given the size of the buds. Bug and disease resistant and very good vigor. It tolerates drought fairly well, good strong wind resistant stem. It is one of the best gorilla indica plants i know of.

Endless sky is very good breeding. All the plants are similar and you can pop 3 seeds to get a female to clone from that is a very good representation of the strain. ES is without a doubt, the most potent indica dom plant i know of and. the stone on the plant is intense to the point of panic for a moderate smoker. Unequalled from my perspective.

Blue Ribbon outdoor - as good as it gets for indica lovers from my limited knowledge. AAA The price is a crime.

Strain/Breeder: Nirvana Afghani
Harvest time: October 1.
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:appalachia
Average yield: 4-6 oz per plant
Mold?: nomold
Potentcy:a good 8, for the money, excellent
Year of grow:2006
Outdoor Rating: 8

I popped 6 seeds and ended up harvesting 2 females. Deer and sex discrimination did the rest in. Both were identical, short, branchy, decent vigor and resistance to most perils. Its a decent outdoor plant with a little attention.

This was the first nirvana strain I ever grew and it was for the most part a satisfying experience. The stone was good and typical afghani. I like affies and this one is really pretty good. Good bargain and a good affie strain .

__----------------------------------

Strain/Breeder: Aurora Indica/ Nirvana
Harvest time: Sept. 27
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:appalachia
Average yield: decent, 9-12oz
Mold?: Decen t resistance but watch late, especially the headbud of the single cola pheno
Potentcy:10
Year of grow:2006

Outdoor Rating : 8+

In 06 i was having every problem imaginable, from deer to hail to drought and ended up having to replant many of my holes. A buddy I have known for years and uses mostly clones knew of my difficulties and dropped off a couple of clones he said were indicas. The grew well, branchy, bushy at 4' with a decent yeild, no real problems at all with little care. I ended up that year with a decent harvest and spent my time smoking my old favorites. Sometime early in the next year, my wife said we had never tried the smoke we got from ______. I was feeling frisky and said lets do it. Ten minutes later, her and I both, many years of heavy smoking were lieing on the bed dabbing our heads with a cool wet clothe.
As soon as I collected myself I called to see what the hell? My buddy was out of town and I left a coded mesage as to what I wanted. His wife called me that afternoon and said that he had called and wanted to give me a pack of the seeds that the clones came from. To my astonishment, she handed me a pack of Aurora Indica from nirvana.

The earlier report on this strain in the outdoor guide is right on target. If raw potency is your goal, this girl is what you want. The only partying youll do on this strain is a pajama party. Don't drive on this stuff. An easy , cheap but top quality grow. Recommended.

Edit June 08: This is a pic of the pheno with the more pronounced headbud. Its this years grow. It will reach 6-7 feet by Oct1. Notice the bug damage. This is a plant I usually have to spray with Sevin when its small. Once it gets some size, bugs have less of an impact on it.

Same plant as above on July 1 08 pic. Almost 5'.

Strain/Breeder: Deep Chunk / OG bub- hill temple?
Harvest time: Sept. 30
Latitude of grow: 38
Location:Appalachia
Average yield: pitiful
Mold?: no
Potentcy:9
Year of grow:2006

Outdoor Rating: 1-no

I should have paid more attention when bub said this strain was heavily worked because in my view, it has been bred to itself to the point that no vigor remains and genetic abnormalities were typical in the plants I grew. I dropped 10 seeds and got 5 pops. Of those, 3 were males and 1 died, and I ended up with 1 female.

I reported my results to bub, and like the decent fellow he is, he sent me 2 new packs of DC and one of Powerhouse. I planted 10 more dc and got 7 pops/ 3 females. I had 4 females all together. One of the females was a different pheno i guess. It was chrismas tree shaped, 3' tall and hermied on individual branches. It had zero smell and zero potency with sativaish little leaves. The other 3 females grew very slowly, were more branchy in stature and typical afghani. They were also quite potent as my rating indicates. I harvested 4.5 oz from 3 spindly little plants.

These seeds are 4-6 weeks behind f1 hybrids and because of that, they are impractical for the outdoor gorilla grower. These seeds are for breeders who arent concerned with yeild. I would absolutely love to have had this plant many generations ago.

I had 2 phenos with this strain, one tall, branchy, lanky plant that finished late and had typical affie buds, bunchy and knobby. Not a good yield and not really that potent. The other plant was shorter with a headbud that finished earlier but the potency wasnt any better. It didn't really yeild well either.

I like affies but i wont grow this one again

Average yield: Pretty good 8 oz
Mold?: good resistance no mold
Potentcy:9
Year of grow: 2006

This plant was very potent and had a sweet pinapple taste. It was also one of the few strains ive grown that is almost as potent when you cut it as it is 3 months later. I seemed to have two phenos in the 3 females i harvested. One was branchy with a head bud and the other was slimmer with a head bud. It didn't express the kind of vigor i like to see and i can only guess that the Deep chunk is dragging down the C99 because I understand c99 to be vigorous. This strain was good and potent with a disabeling buzz - the name fits. Caterpillars wouldn't leave here alone. 2 girls 4' tall and one 6'
