Grew out a bunch of these girls, some inside, and some outside. Outside finished product is WAY better. Gotta start out by saying i bought this strain because the breeder, CH9, personally told me they would finish fast in my area. I found this to be completly untrue with all 10 girls i had. grew two indoor and pulled them premature after 10 and a half weeks flower, and pulled the last out the outdoor last night due to crappy weather. Outdoors their veg growth was nice and they bushed out real well with a little LST. The only problem was that they didnt even show female glands until 1st week in september! to me, that is not an early finishing strain, in fact quite the opposite. I had to build a make-shift green house over the top of them to let them go longer and to keep them from gettin beatin up by the rain.
All that being said, there are some very beautiful buds well coated in resin. i had one purple pheno that started flowering in august and had bright purple calyxes when temps were still very warm.
Great for a climate that can let them go, and a grower who is paitient, but never again for me!

STRAIN/BREEDER:Mendocino/CH9
HARVEST TIME:First week in October
LATITUDE OF GROW:40.6
LOCATION:US
AVERAGE YIELD:eek:unce

POTENCY:8

Mendocino was exactly what i was looking for, both indoor and out. Fast flowering period as well as veg. very skunky undertone with a piny aftertaste. nice and potent. Only had three of these gals outside, all of which were done before the first week in october. no mold, just beautiful green clusters of resin covered buds. One i had started to flower inside but ran out of space and placed it outdoors july 4th. continued flowering and was done by early september.
yield is due to growing location (forest) with 4 hours of solid sun in mid summer, and about 1 hour of solid sun by the end of harvest.

Strain--------------BBXNL (Early Purpule Pheno)
Harvest Time-------Oct 10th
Location-----------42N
Yeild--------------- over 224grams
Mold---------------None
Potency-----------6.5-7/10
Seed/Clone--------Seed
Year---------------2009
I had two phenos this one finished early and was completely different in taste and potency. Although beautiful I would say the potency and taste is nothing like the later pheno. No mold but no comparison to the late pheno.

Strain--------------BBxNL (later pheno)
Harvest Time-------Oct 10th(Harvested early needed at least two more weeks)
Location------------42N
Yeild----------------150grams
Mold-----------------none
Potency-------------8/10
Seed/clone-----------Seed
Year-----------------2009
As you can tell from the pic this was immature weed needed at least 2 weeks maybe more and sure it would be a big yielder. This is the pheno you are looking for if there were an early version of this one it would be wonderful. Very nice body buzz and great taste fruity all the way through a joint. Never smoked it in any glass but it would be great.

Yeild------------------------84-100grams
Mold------------------------No
Potency--------------------6.5-7/10

I had two phenos of GG3 the first looks more like GG2 the single cola plant structure that finishes first week of September and the second pheno has the classic Christmas tree form Sept 15th. This is great performer and good choice for early bud. The Christmas pheno can yield over 100 grams easy. You can get some mold on the single cola pheno but keep an eye on it and will be so little that no complaints to be had.

Ok Guerrillas this is or was the strain every guerrilla is looking for. Two phenos or really just two finishing times both have same taste/smell/potency characteristics. One finishes Sept 15th the other are done by Oct 1st.
I could go on and on these smelled so nice and were frosty right up to the smaller fans on the buds. The taste was citrus/lemon the potency was a solid 8 but I put 8-8.5 because of the total package. Very tight buds (leaf/calyx ratio).
Now for the bad part Jay Sprout no longer has this strain. I made seeds but this was a F1 and I am not a breeder so my F2s will probably have many phenos.
I only grow from seed but if a Guerrilla did clone this is the best Sept 15th finisher I have ever had it’s the total package. (Taste/Potency/(leaf to calyx ratio)

Strain/Breeder: EII x Texada Timewarp / Reeferman Seeds
Harvest time: mid<>October
Latitude of grow: 51 N
Location:Northern Europe
Growing type: Guerrilla in tubs
Average yield: Average
Potency: 7.00+ ish good head/body mix across phenotypes
Mold?: a little mold <15%
Year of grow: 2009

Notes: Early Island Indica (IBL) possible relative of 'Mighty Mite' seedlines x Timewarp Twister legendary cutting. Old seeds that germed well. 3 females and fairly consistant growth, aromas and resin.

Survived well on neglect. Oldschool type herb to me. Did a pollination with these so went longer, harvest time above based on sensi maturation rather than letting seeds ripen. Skunky, earthy tastes. Smoke improves in potency with cure.

Recommended overall.

Leda Uno (KC Brains)

Leda Uno (KC Brains)

Strain/Breeder: Leda Uno/ KC Brains
Harvest time: mid October
Latitude of grow: 56 N
Location: Center of Europe
Growing type: Guerrilla
Average yield: Low (read below)
Potency: 6-8/very nicely balanced high
Mold?: little bit, but caused no major problem
Year of grow: 2009
Notes: heard rumours that KC seeds don't germinate well. Received 20 seeds from Amsterdam (friend brought from KC recommended source). 1 seed was crushed during transportation. But the rest germinated within 1 day! The plants were started from seed only on the 21st of June! After 2 weeks thay were transplanted directly into unprepared soil outdoors. The plants varied much. When harvest time came, the biggest plant was only 60 cm (3 feet) tall. The yield due to it was also low. After three weeks of curing the smell reminded of strawberries, some hint of citrus. The smoke was awesome, high comes slowly and long lasting. Very nicely balanced, more on cerebral side, but indica influence is also noticable. Quite strong and very nice. The photo represents "green" , more indica pheno. You can find really good mothers from the Leda Uno seed stock (i mentioned that plants varied much). The autumn was harsh this year, continous rains and so on.. I think, growing under HPS would bring awesome result and amazing, potent buds. Keeper strain (some plants). Cheers

HTC Rocket Chunk

HTC Rocket Chunk

Strain/Breeder:Rocket Chunk/ Esben
Harvest time: Sept. 15-25
Latitude of grow: 45N
Location: Northeast
Average yield: average to above average, not huge
Mold?: almost none
Potency: 8
Year of grow: 2009

I had 2 phenos both very similar, one being a little smaller and a week earlier. They had no branching and had 2 big nugs at every node until the main cola. The buds are VERY desnse and have small calyxes packed in tight with barely anything to trim. Good trich coverage, they look totally frosted when the trichs go cloudy. One of the best things about the Rocket Chunk is that it has awsome mold resistance. The buds are so tight and dense that they seem like they might mold from the inside out but they are just super resistant. Also they can take a few light frosts in stride. You can really see the Deep Chunk structure in this strain. Recommended :yes:

After nearly 3 years in existance.............

the outdoor strainguide has documented the grows of many strains from many growers. It has occurred to me that some strains really stand out, I thought it might be nice to make a short list of strains that have received good marks from several growers in this guide.

Mid-September finish
Easy Sativa, FemaleseedsGreat mold resistance, decent high for a early finisher

Late September finish
Maroc/Female seeds(some reported mold problems though)
Mandala #1, Mandala seeds

October finish
Aurora Indica, NirvanaVery good potency
Afghan, Nirvana Good marks for a classic Indica strain
Sensi Star, Paradise Seeds Good rep for potency
White Rhino, Nirvana Good rep for potency
White Widow, Dutch passion seeds & Greenhouse seedsClassic strain with great rep for potency

A good outdoor plant

The femmed GH WW has 3 different pheno's. This list is a generalization of results from 10 seeds.

1. Single bladed leaf pheno- The most common pheno. 4-5 plants per pak. This pheno finishes early in the 3rd to 4th week of september, grows to about 7', has a good stone. This is the best pheno for the outdoor grower due to its early flowering

2. Christmas tree shape to 7'. A more afghani looking plant. Less branching and yeild than the early pheno. A good plant with good smoke but i wouldnt clone it.

3. Much rarer, dark green and squatty, branchy plant that stretches quite a bit. It appears an averaqe of 1 plant per pack, although i purchased 2 packs that didnt contain a single pheno and a 3rd pack had 2 in it. This plant is the most sativa in the group, with thin leaves. It takes more than 2 weeks longer to finish - mid to late october. This pheno is a bit more potent than the other 2 pheno's and if i were growing indoor and looking for a mother, this would be the plant i would choose. Its slight increase in potency isnt enough for me to grow it outdoors considering the longer finish time.

General:
The GH WW was my 5th brand of WW ive grown outdoors and is by far the best plant of the group for my outdoor. It has decent vigor, finishes early and has a good, hard stone.

Mr. Nice BW takes more than 2 weeks or longer to finish than the GH and appears to have much more sativa in its breeding and high. The 2 brands are quite different. The BW has less vigor and resistance than the GH and the extended finishing time make this brand more difficult to grow outdoors. It is a bit more potent than the GH, but not really enough to matter given its other shortcommings in the outdoor. Its proabably a good indoor brand.

Dutch passion: This is a good plant with a good stone for indoor growing, but lacks vigor and yeild for the outdoors, compared to the GH brand. Potency is less than GH or black widow. I believe the DP plant has very different genetics than either the GH or MR. Nice.

White label: The white label brand performed similarly to the Mr. Nice ww. More sativa, longer finish. Not the best plant for outdoor for me. This plant and bw need good weather until Oct 20 to finish properly.

Female seeds: Female seeds WW was a good plant that finished Oct 1 but was quite differnt than the other brands. More indica, shorter, not a big yeilder and not as good as the GH brand.

Joey's f2: This genetic is an f2 of the original cup winning GH of the 90s and it was obvious that the plant is related to the current greenhouse brand. The same pheno's - a single bladed pheno and the rarer sativa pheno appear identical to the GH ww. If you were to mix plants from the 2 strains, it would be impossible to seperate them out.

For me and my growing the GH ww is the best all around outdoor perfomer of the group. It appears to me that the current GH brand really hasnt changed much since the original offering and cup winner of years ago.

Harvest time: Oct 2

Location:Eastern US
Average yield: 6oz
Mold?: no
Potency:8
Year of grow: 2009

Not a good option for my outdoor. All 4 plants appeared the same

This wasnt the best outdoor plant for me. The stems are EXTREMELY brittle and break at the slightest breeze. I spent the entire summer watching nice branches just break and fall off. The average plant reached 6' and yeilded about 6 ozs or so. Yeild would have been much better per plant if the branches would stay on the plant. I had 1 plant that grew to 8 feet and by Oct. 1, the plant had 1 branch and the main bud left on it. Ive never grown plants like these.

Vigrous isn't a word i would use to describe the plant. The plant might be ok for indoors, but I wont grow it again outdoors.

Average yield: 12 oz

A decent outdoor plant with a good stone. It finishes early and has a good yeild. Fruity smelling, vigorous, grows to around 8'. Mostly christmas tree shaped pheno's but I had a couple of plants that were more branchy and finished a week earlier.

This was an easy plant to grow and is an average performer.. Its stem is strong and it stands up well. Ive grown better strains than WS and Ive grown much worse too.
Its a decent plant with a good stone.
