I give you the mobile (pronounced Moe-Bile) guerilla nursery.

Old trampoline cloth I think. Recycled soil bags for weed barrier , the trays have about a half inch of water/kelp extract in the bottom and my seed starting mix kinda wicks it up between watering , been hot days.
These are all round 2. Got first round on side of mountain.
This will also serve as my guerilla clone dome with a few minor editions.
Last year a close friend took like 50 outdoor clones from pruning biggest plants and rooted em all in 1 gallon pots, SOG outdoor style, nice bumper crop, all small colas. Gonna do something similar.

Headband 99 in old fabric pots...these got a little dry and gonna wait a couple more weeks maybe before putting in final hole.

Afghan x skunk, shiskaberry, and some 33 in germ.

Getting the blueberry patch ready, few of these blocking my sun. More sun equals more flower.

Got the first round out but haven't checked em this week.
Looking great, mountain man! Yeah don't be afraid to prune back and cut down trees it will help the plants get up into better light.

I wouldn't do any taking clones. Not really enough veg time to make it worth the effort. I have tried it before and the plants will yield more if they are just left to grow large. Can promote branching to maximize budsites in June if its a foot tall or so by pinching growth tips or training. Otherwise in my experience its best to let the plant be to get the best yield. Clones are useful though for saving plants that are really good, so you could take those indoors and save it and if it ends up really good you have it in clone form.

If you want a sea of green plant more seeds. Today is probably the last day. Don't have much experience with this late, but heat gets to be an issue here soon.

The trampoline cloth may be too much shade, so make sure they get a bit of sun on the sides if you can raise it up as high as you can would be good. I put some veggie seedling under the table when it was hot. Its not a bad idea, just doesn't let light pass through which helps the plants grow. Although it helps keep them from drying and getting hot.

Looks like a few good starts in there. Well I guess it selected for survival adaptations. Should have some strong plants. Check the media, sometimes it gets real compact and wet, in the ground they do well in the elements. Maybe the media got too heavy and needs a little more perlite or something to loosen it early on.

Time to get out there and move the ones ready for full sun and deal with empty pots.

i had wanted to see what an abused plant could take, so i let them germ outside and get slammed by rain outside numerous times, and all the nasty that goes with it...some lived some died. Mudballs is smarter for it...never seen a natural grow...always protected them before exposure to hostile elements.

It's not abusing them starting outdoors in the elements. As you've found out they take it pretty well. It's a plant that will grow wild on it's own without any intervention from man.

I've had them come up on their own next to my patio. I had a couple plants I pollinated a few branches on in that area the year before that I was moving under the awning when it rained since it was close to harvest and I didn't want the buds getting wet. A seed must have dropped. They were ready when I harvested the plant.

And the thing is that it did it all on it's own in gravel. Once I spotted it I did water it from the hose when needed but that's all. Nothing but hose water, a few hours of sun and it was a nice healthy plant.

I gave most of my starts away and kept the best for myself.
left to right
Blue cheese, Mexican sativa, skunk #1. I had OG Kush , but it turned out to be a male. Onto to fire pit - smelled good
Looking good. Is that plant in the pic on the right trying to revegetate or is it going in to flower as an auto?

Whats in blue cheese?

Should have kept that OG Kush for pollen and pollinated a branch off each plant.

Will that Mexican finish where you're at? They can take a long time if it is a true Mexican Sativa.

Psalm 4 NKJV

The Safety of the Faithful
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.
1Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have relieved me in my distress;
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
2How long, O you sons of men,
Will you turn my glory to shame?
How long will you love worthlessness
And seek falsehood?
Selah
3But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly;
The Lord will hear when I call to Him.
4Be angry, and do not sin.
Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.
Selah
5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
And put your trust in the Lord.
6There are many who say,
“Who will show us any good?”
Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.
7You have put gladness in my heart,
More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
8I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalms 5 NKJV

A Prayer for Guidance
To the Chief Musician. With flutes. A Psalm of David.
1Give ear to my words, O Lord,
Consider my meditation.
2Give heed to the voice of my cry,
My King and my God,
For to You I will pray.
3My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.
4For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
Nor shall evil dwell with You.
5The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.
6You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
7But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.
8Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies;
Make Your way straight before my face.
9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth;
Their inward part is destruction;
Their throat is an open tomb;
They flatter with their tongue.
10Pronounce them guilty, O God!
Let them fall by their own counsels;
Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions,
For they have rebelled against You.
11But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.
12For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Psalms 6 NKJV

A Prayer of Faith in Time of Distress
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. On an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.
1O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
2Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.
3My soul also is greatly troubled;
But You, O Lord—how long?
4Return, O Lord, deliver me!
Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!
5For in death there is no remembrance of You;
In the grave who will give You thanks?
6I am weary with my groaning;
All night I make my bed swim;
I drench my couch with my tears.
7My eye wastes away because of grief;
It grows old because of all my enemies.
8Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity;
For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
9The Lord has heard my supplication;
The Lord will receive my prayer.
10Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled;
Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly.

Galatians 5 NKJV

Christian Liberty
1Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. 2Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing. 3And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised that he is a debtor to keep the whole law. 4You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. 5For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
Love Fulfills the Law
7You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. 9A little leaven leavens the whole lump. 10I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.
11And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased. 12I could wish that those who trouble you would even cut themselves off!
13For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
Walking in the Spirit
16I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

These deep flats came from a tree propagation nursery where I worked. The extra depth helps promote a tap root and also allows the flat to not dry out as easily. Works well, just be careful NOT to overwater. They are easy to water too much, so you have to pre-moisten the media and mix it with a hand shovel before leveling again and planting seed. Then light waterings 1-4 times daily are needed to keep it from gettings overly-compact.

After emergence, watering can be tapered off slowy to less frequent and more saturation. :smoke:

Getting some fertilizer put down and a dose of water. Hope to see those leaves expand again this week with another explosion of growth! Like watching fireworks.

I will have to look for ginsing, we have it here. When do you harvest the root? After flowering? Any tips?

Plants are looking happy, linde!

Thanks for the tip mudballs! White containers are much better than black. The heat will promote disease or even kill the roots and will also make the container dry faster. Are those staying in the 3 gal containers through to harvest?

Natural spring and natural clay, I kinda made a clay rock, holds my funnel and hose in place, gotta mesh screen, but really not needed. As the water stays completely clear. Just for shits I done a ppm check .. read 0?

if I was diligent (which I'm not) the end of this hose would fill my 60 gallon res, but...I started late! Got a on off valve at end for filling jugs.
Round 3 goes out next weekend, shiskaberry and KC 33, and my signature Afghan Skunk.

Got some infrastructure,now I need bigger plants, a lot bigger.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Thats worth gold finding a spring like that near the plots! Looking great, they will catch up soon. The plants see the long sun this time of year and with the heat they will explode with growth soon. Just will be a few days behind. I think you got an early enough start, should see some good yields!

Thanks for sharing views from the mountain country, wild and wonderful out there! Don't let the deer eat them. Could use liquid fence repellent. Great idea making a little fence with logs, but be careful not to block too much light early on. They should be able to stretch to reach to top of it, if they are having a tough time, may not want to stack up the logs too tall around them.

Love the organic mix! Guess clay is better than rocks. Watch the really heavy dense clay, as it has so little porespace, its chokes out the roots. It takes time for it to loosen up. Mountains have such a great ecosystem.

Could you find rotten wood like in a stump to use. Not sure if it would work real great, but at least it would add organic matter, although it may be depleted in N. Use more cottonseed meal if you can, its 100% slow release and won't burn. Its long lasting and is pretty high N for organics.

Coffee grounds may be acidic, don't use too much in the ratio. They also have to break down and will deplete the nitrogen in the soil as they are more carbon than N (Carbon:Nitrogen ratio). Too much will promote nitrogen immobilization as the microbes work to break it down and have to draw N from the surrounding soil.

Fill up that reservoir! Summer starts this week! Thanks for the update, brother! :smoke:

Very interesting, I didn't know that they could deplete N, but this is why I use every amendment sparingly. Lots of deer, most have cages, but towards end I got lazy and used logs....may use liquid fence but I have a blend I use that really works but only last maybe 5-7 days. Few old timers tricks.

Man, I feel really late, thanks for the good vibes brother!

Im just ready to get round 3 out to pasture so the hard works over with...until harvest, YES!

Edit- yes. Thought about that as well, found some mega enriched old stumps full of microb life, but they are more toward the shady spring and not in full sun. However, at my swamp patch there's an old stump I dug into....very moist and fertile.but has.like 10 salamanders living in it with their holes going and coming every which way, wonder if I fill the hole if they'd damage roots when they come out.
