I had about 20 good starts pop up in my fire pit. I thought about transplanting them. Some of them were almost a foot tall. Decided to just cull them since I have what I need. They were thriving right in the broken down aged ashes of the fire pit with a few sticks thrown over them. The volunteers in the lawn get mowed, but these took off in the fire pit!
I've had tomatoes and a few other plants volunteer but never a cannabis plant , and I'm sure I've had my share of stray seed about. I believe the temperature fluctuates too much here with too many warm spells in the winter. I'm curious do you have any stands of escaped hemp by you ?

Never seen hemp here, but in our state its likely there are still feral hemp populations along creekbank areas.

Threw out a bunch of seed after making dry ice hash. Didn't expect it to germinate in the fire pit!

Wonder why the pharmaceutical companies don't want cannabis legalized?

I threw out some seedlings in my compost pile a couple years ago and they did the same thing. Never give up on a plant. Also the small seedlings I thought wouldn't do very well in the garden ended up catching up with the other plants. I planted them closer together thinking they wouldn't do very well, but they almost all took off growing!

Going easy on the fertilizer this week. Rate recommended is 25 lbs/ 1000 square feet, so with about 120-150 square feet garden, we will apply about 3 lbs up to 3.75, leaning toward 3. Using the newer more accurate scale since it so small. Could go by cups which is 3 cups per lb. Also using the cotton seed meal 6-2-1 which is all slow release N. Want to avoid burning before a big heat wave.

Thought about doing split applications at a 2 week interval with half rate each time. Would have to be accurate to prevent overapplication. Measuring volume may be the way to go with small gardens. The fish scale can be off by a couple pounds.

That's a great grow rate. This season looks like it's gonna be a good one. Any CBD plants among these? Are these only Sativa Candy Chunk? Or anything else? I don't remember sorry.

I give you the mobile (pronounced Moe-Bile) guerilla nursery.
IMG_20240613_122257040_HDR.jpg

Old trampoline cloth I think. Recycled soil bags for weed barrier , the trays have about a half inch of water/kelp extract in the bottom and my seed starting mix kinda wicks it up between watering , been hot days.
These are all round 2. Got first round on side of mountain.
This will also serve as my guerilla clone dome with a few minor editions.
Last year a close friend took like 50 outdoor clones from pruning biggest plants and rooted em all in 1 gallon pots, SOG outdoor style, nice bumper crop, all small colas. Gonna do something similar.

Some Secret Candy Chunk recently popped. Destination = deep mountain side

Headband 99 in old fabric pots...these got a little dry and gonna wait a couple more weeks maybe before putting in final hole.

Afghan x skunk, shiskaberry, and some 33 in germ.

Can't wait to put some plants outside too guys! 🤩 :ninja:

A little bit too cold and rainy here these days. My tomatoes which i had put outside on the balcony weeks ago almost died, lots of rain and cold nights...

All Sativa Candy Chunk in the garden this year to simplify and prevent accidental mixups. Not doing CBD in the garden yet, maybe in a couple years. Just focusing on the project right now. They are all on the same schedule and are acclimated for my climate, going to be a good yield I hope! :smoke:

Mountain Outlaw-- Plants look like they have a good start. Get them in the ground. Sativa Candy Chunk should do well in the deep dark mountain valley. Do you have south exposure there, or how is the sun? How much time in direct light throughout the day? They do well even in filtered light.

Good idea putting water in the bottom to keep them hydrated if you can't check on them.

Check out Hamstring's method of outdoor starting.

Got some SCC out in wild now, can't wait to see em.
Also got the BB DCC out as well. These are round 2s. Very vigorous.

My seed starter spot gets about 7 or 8 direct but is approx 50 percent filtered through my shade cloth. Hot direct sun . No Southern exposure but their final spots will have all day sun starting first thing in morning. And nice deep holes as well! Better late than never.

No rain in sight next week or so, got a natural spring though.

The weather here has been great for the plants. They've really started growing good in the last week. Actually too good as they're getting lanky. I'm going to supercrop the main tops this evening.

The three on the left are a PCK+Durban cross I made and the far right is a Night Nurse. I got the Night Nurse years ago as free seeds from an order I made with Sensible Seeds. It was very good so I made a bunch of feminized seeds and have been growing it for years. It's a good outdoor strain where I'm at as it finishes here at 45°N and is a favorite of several friends of mine that I start plants for every year.

I'm going to start weekly spraying of a foliar I make using potassium silicate and sesame oil. It's been effective at preventing PM, mold, and pests since I started using it outdoors some years back.

One of them has a branch exhibiting fasciation. It's curling towards the inside of the plant. I know it's not desirable but I'm going to leave it just to show a few friends that have never seen it. It's the plant second from the left and is smaller than the other PCK+Durban. It seems like it's stunted compared to the other two.

I wish everyone good fortune with their outdoor grows.

Got a good rain last night, quarter to a half inch! God's grace, we needed it really bad before this heat wave. Will get some more water put down Sunday. Will be great to have the plants watered mid week since its been dry and hot. Fertilizing with Healthy Grow and cottonseed meal before next watering. Going to be kicking into gear. Flowering starts in just a few weeks. :smoke:

Few more views from Sunday.

Time to get out there and move the ones ready for full sun and deal with empty pots.

i had wanted to see what an abused plant could take, so i let them germ outside and get slammed by rain outside numerous times, and all the nasty that goes with it...some lived some died. Mudballs is smarter for it...never seen a natural grow...always protected them before exposure to hostile elements.
